Vanilla Club

I had Tobacco Vanille on my wishlist for a while when I unexpectedly came across this fragrance that was unknown for me at the time. After trying it though, I immediately recognized the resemblence. However this is not the “trying too hard” kind of dupe, I would even say that it offers more than Tom Ford’s original, at least for me, I find it creamier, warmer, cosier, the TF doesnt have any honey, and I feel like the dried fruits and the cacao stand out a bit more in this one and it has a slight boozyness to it too. Later I tried Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Tobacco Edition too, which is a very close dupe to Tobacco Vanille, and I even started to second-guess my decision about Vanilla Club. But after comparing them side by side I was reassured that Vanilla Club is a beautiful and special fragrance in its own right too with excellent quality, and the Al Haramain dupe smells more artificial and flat. Because of the slight differences I mentioned, people looking for a close alternative to Tobacco Vanille should try this first if they can, rather than going straight to blind buy it based on the reviews. I strongly recommend it though, my partner and I both got one for each of ourselves the first day we discovered it, this is how much we both fell in love with it and wouldnt even want to share. 🙂 The presentation and the packaging is impressive too, wooden cap, book style case, it shows too that this is indeed a quality niche fragrance. It has a card in it describing the whole inspiration behind the scent, I thought I would copy it here for those of you interested in its whole vibe and story: “There are women, indeed, in whom the trembling of kisses received previously persists for a long time on the surface of the skin, making them softly blush as they remember their lover or absent husband: Last night there was a party of love. This fragrance is an absolutely amazing clone of the legendary Tom Ford: Tobacco Vanille for fraction of the price. In terms of clones this is an exceptionally high quality fragrance in it's own right that serves as a more than apt substitute for the original. The similarity is such that it is hard to tell the difference even when comparing the fragrance side by side with the original (I have a sample to compare). There are differences especially in terms of density of the fragrance and longevity. The original has exceptional longevity that can last 24 hour on skin and weeks on clothes with strong projection and sillage. It is the superior fragrance but not by much and that is the testament to the quality of Vanilla Club! VC still has amazing longevity ( 10-12 hours on skin and days on clothes), projection is arms lenght for up to 2-3 hours and then it stays at about half an arms lenght with good sillage. You get all that for a fraction of the price (I got mine for 63€!) For those who haven't smelled the original Tobacco Vanille, this smells like heavily sweet boozy natural bourbon vanilla, complemented with cacao, spicy clove (euganol), and smooth tobacco. The smell is juicy, thick and boozy with a slightly sour tinge running in the background helping to balance out the heavy sweetness of the fragrance. To me both TF and VC are vanilla fragrances first and tobacco distant second. This is a winter gourmand fragrance that is warm, cozy, addictive and alluring. Absolutely no go for warm weather. It is a tried and tested DNA that will appeal to everybody and will garner universal praise. It's unisex although it leans more masculine. This DNA is quite one dimensional and linear which tends to get quite tiresome after prolonged use. When used sparingly you can fully appreciate it's richly lushious dark vanilla. Given the price and the DNA this is a must have for all vanilla lovers and a worthy alternative for the original.

It arrived today and could test it and compare with the last drops of my decant of Tobacco Vanille. On its own merit - lovely, warm, sweet, spicy vanilla with just right amount of a pleasant pipe tobacco. Good longevity (after 8 hrs I still smell from my wrist while typing) and definitely not linear performance. Starts as strong sweet cloves and tobacco (on my skin even I smelled cinnamon too. Then softens quickly, and vanilla starts growing. During the first hour it was not as deep, dark and mesmerizing as TV, a bit lighter and less complex, but still enjoyable. Over time it gets sweeter, vanilla stronger, tobacco and spicy notes and fruits move slowly to the background, but they don’t disappear just take a supporting role. This also helps that the dry down is not a simple vanilla, but a gorgeous combination of the main notes. Comparing to TV: 85-90% similarity, but Vanilla Club is easier to wear, more suitable for women who prefer the rather feminine side of the unisex/niche fragrances. If lightly sprayed can be office friendly, for me it is rather an evening/going out/special occasion scent. Price/value: Absolutely worth the price!

In my opinion an absolute masterpiece. Didn't expect anything so picked up 10ml, after wearing it for 2 days and receiving numerous compliments immediately picked up a 75ml bottle. Honey is the most prominent note to me, but not cheap supermarket honey, but the expensive kind which is dark and comes with a bit of honeycomb in it. The second most prominent note is sweet light Turkish tobacco. Tonka bean and dried fruits throughout. In my opinion an absolute masterpiece, never smelled anything like it. Yes it resembles TF tobacco vanille but this is more wearable and less in your face. Suitable for fall/winter/early spring and late summer nights. Scent 9.5/10 Longevity 7/10 Sillage 7/10 I find the bottle design a bit un inspirational tbh.

The tobacco in this is very pleasant, as someone who usually hates tobacco in scents. It's dry, like the loose tobacco you use when rolling your own cigarettes. Kind of reminiscent of rooibos tea. Vanilla Club is beautifully unisex, and I imagine it works in many different settings, changing depending on the context in which it is worn. It has a sophistication to it that makes it appropriate for office wear, and a playfulness that invites it to be worn to celebrations or just every day. I can't motivate why, but I think this scent works in all seasons except winter. I'm slightly disappointed by the longevity.

interesting and complex for a vanilla scent. it's sweet and smoky and kind of spicy but still very soft and kind of powdery. I have a tester I've been trying a couple times, and weirdly I feel like this fragrance changes every time I wear it; last week the vibe was very sweet, kind of gourmandy and reminded me of baked pastries with cinnamon. but today, the tobacco is heavy and I'm reminded by cigars with sweet flavour in the filter. so I'm not sure how I feel about this - but I'm still glad I have a small sample to play with. projects and lasts well!

The scent is very well blended, I got this for around €60, which is an absolute steal. I actually prefer this to Tobacco Vanille, they are fairly similar (minus the chocolate and the lesser intensity of the tobacco in this), but the opening on this one is different and maybe the TF is a little smoother, but more linear and less interesting overall. The honey comes out maybe after 2-3 hours, it takes its time. If you like the notes and you like Tobacco Vanille, I'd say this is blind buy worthy.

I have only discovered this brand and Vanilla Club is my first purchase. I find this very similar to Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille but it also dances between Bvlgari Man In Black. I wore this to work and had a nice compliment from a female client who said it was a gorgeous scent and asked me the name as she wanted to purchase it . This scent lingers and wafts around during the day to remind you it's there. I'm very pleased with it. It's a fraction of the price of Tobacco Vanille but very similar.

Quite harsh in the beginning but as it settles it’s beautiful. I can clearly smell the cloves and dried fruit which is what I was looking for and the perfume gets sweeter as it progresses. The tobacco is there but not too much that makes it unsuitable for a woman. The dry down is gorgeous creamy vanilla and I don’t need to respray until 7 hours later. This has quickly become one of my favourite fragrances and as I purchased the gift set of 75ml with soap for £60 I’m pleased with the price.

The opening is a bit rough and I smell clove probably more than I would like to, but when it settles down it's a bliss for us who like TF's Tobacco Vanille. It is definitely not as intense as TV, but I actually prefer it that way. It's been couple of hours since I sprayed it and I'm sure it will last a decent amount of time more. So really a blind buy for TF TV lovers who cannot afford TF.

I immediately fell in love with that scent. I admit it's weird at the begining, you just feel tobacco and cloves but later you get this beautiful long tail of vanilla. It is definitely not a parfume for everybody. You should wear it on your skin few times and then you will know if you appreciate it or not. For me weird hit.

I like this a lot, the ingredients are perfectly blended. Smells exactly like the notes here. But after it settles, tobacco becomes very prominent on my skin and it's the only thing I can smell.

go for it if you like TF Tobacco Vanille, great dupe for decent price. This one is however less intense and has lower longevity.

On my skin the role players are the honey covered dried fruits with tobacco and tonka combo with the fresh and spicy cloves. For me the Vanilla is in the background, with the benzion & labdanum too. These gives the fragrance a bit creamy ( because of the vanilla) and mostly balsamic base. But by time, the tobacco get lighter and the vanilla get more prominent. The drydown is a very nice rich dried fruity fresh-spicy tobacco-vanilla scent. I think because of the sweetness most of u see it as winter/autumn fragrance. But for me it's a hot summer night club scent, maybe because of the twist what the cloves do. This fragrance really the gives the vibe of a nightclub in Cuba.

Opens with a thick blast of cloves and heavy, dark tobacco. In the mid the dried fruits and honey come out and the tobacco remains prominent. The dry down blends the honeyed fruits with Christmas spiced vanilla and smoky tonka bean. The cacao brings a creamy sweetness and is the best part. The fragrance is worlds apart from Tobacco Vanille; VC is much harsher and darker. A brave attempt, but not really a success.

This is the dry fruits tray on the table at Christmas. Top: dried fruit, Cuban tobacco, clove. Mid: vanilla, chocolate, tonka beans. Dry down: warm honey, woody cabin vibe. Lots of depth from benzoin and labdanum. Favourite vanilla/honey scent. Top notch. Recommended for tobacco vanille fans. However, keep in mind it does have honey as the dominant note.

Good clone of Tobacco Vanille for good price. Smell and performance are the same.

For me it smells like realistic cherry blossom and vanillin powder, lovely

I own a 2ml of this fragrance and the OG Tom Ford it's being compared to. Personally I find the TF one much more intriguing and blended. Here the opening is really strong tobacco and rum, but it dries down to just sweetened rum.Overall it is very sweet and boozy

Smells like stepping into a church at the start, when it dries down it gets a little better but it still smells like strong tobacco. For the price you could get much better tobacco-vanille parfumes, overall it is similar to TF. Wouldn't rebuy

Starts with strong cigar smell, setles down to honey,vanilla and a hint of a cigar.

Absolutely loved Vanilla club first time I sprayed it on a testing strip and then I tried it on my skin and I was shocked at how BAD it was. I don't know if it's like this just for me, but do not blind buy this parfume. I was actually feeling sick to my stomach from this scent. I can't even describe how it smelled (just a very bad mix of tobacco and vanilla) and unfortunately, it lasts very long. I could smell it on me for hours and eventually it started getting a little bit better. It reminds me of the sweet filter on vanilla cigars. But I don't want to stink for 5 hours just to smell a bit better later, so I don't think I will be buying this one.

I really dislike this fragrance. It starts out with a strong scent of cloves, in fact I found it a bit too strong here. I generally don't have a problem with cloves as I own a vintage edition of YSL's Opium in extrait. However, here it is too much and then it changes into a nauseating combination of tobacco and vanilla that lasts much too long for my taste and is hard to scrub off. Longevity and strength is good if you like this thing.

Very unisex in my opinion. Harmonious and notes perform well together. It doesn't have a strong personal character on its own, I can imagine there are tons of similar blends out there. And maybe it's that boozy and tobacco stuff are just not for me.

I was thinking what's the difference between don't like and hate, and thanks to this novellista I now know the answer. I feel sick. Physically. Like I am about to throw up. I've never experienced anything like that in perfumes before I discovered Novellista. Maybe Novelista did its job at 110%, because it does feel to me as a pack of cheap cigarettes. It actually had deep dark vanilla somewhere in the middle and indeed started with cloves, something a little sweet (maybe dried fruits) and tobacco. So as with the previous one I tried I have to say the perfume development is flat. It starts tobacco and with each step, when vanilla and spices fade away, it gets more and more tabacco. And we end up with a pack of cheap cigarettes under the bridge. Awful. And this is strong. It starts strong and does not lose its intensity. Huge NO for a blind buy. It is not the same as Amber Oud Tabacco edition and By The Fireplace. But it reminds of a Jazz Club. It's its ugly cousin :)

All I can smell is pipe tobacco, nothing else 8-/ No drydown, no development, no nothing. Tried it on skin and on fabric and it makes no difference at all. I really can’t bear it and don’t see anyone wearing this. Luckily I only bought the 10ml.

Opens up with a blast of dried fruits. Immediately after that, the chocolate comes in and takes over. Shortly after, the chocolate pulls back slightly and the tobacco and vanilla comes through. The dry down is a big mix of dried fruits, chocolate, tobacco and a hint of vanilla. Kind of reminds me of Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP with an added tobacco note. The tobacco is definitely not too heavy. Beautiful bottle and excellent presentation. Edit: Just got Velvet Teddy which many are saying is close to TF TV. The opening of Vanilla Club and Velvet Teddy is a bit different. Vanilla Club is much more rich in the dried fruits and chocolate. In the dry down they are very similar but Vanilla Club has a hint more of the dried fruits and chocolate.

Very nice. As mentioned in previous reviews Vanilla Club does draw some parallels with Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, however the tobacco in Vanilla Club is not quite as strong, natural, or prominent as it is in Tobacco Vanille. This is softer, sweeter and a little more wearable day-to-day than Tobacco Vanille, the performance is not as good (Tobacco Vanille is a literal monster on my skin) but overall the result is acceptable, and actually rather nice when the Cacao makes an appearance after a couple of hours. I purchased the 10ml travel atomiser of this one, and whilst it is nice, I will likely not replace it when it runs out. I will continue to buy Tobacco Vanille instead. 7.5/10

I bought the 'Best of Novellista' sampleset. This is the 3rd scent that I have tried. The opening brings back memories of celebrating Saint Nicolas at my grandparents house. The smell of 'pepernoten', traditional tiny spicy cookies, my grandfather's tobacco and the dried fruits my grandmother used for deserts. The drydown is very nice and cosy! But there is also some freshness in it to lift it up. I like it a lot. I think I will use this for drizzly, windy winterdays.

As an ex smoker I am overly sensitive to tobacco note and it's quite intensive in the opening. After an hour or so the sweetness takes over and I really like it, the dry down is elegant and sexy. Out of three tested scents this one I find the most original from the brand. Reminds me Tobacolor a bit but is more bearable for me (in terms of tobacco note). This one might stay in my collection.

Based of a sample - it's a No for me I don't like it Smells like a grandpa's perfume(like a perfume a grandad would've used in the late 70's, in his club days 🤭) Not unisex enough for my taste, it leans masculine. But it lasts

Sexy stuff!! Yep, totally getting the tobacco vanille comparison but it goes its own way. Sofisticated and well rounded fragrance... Did i mention sexy??

this is a straight up TF Tobacco Vanille dupe, which is a shame, because both are headache-inducingly, sickeningly sweet.
