Vetiver Myth

Took some time for fragrantica to add this one to the database, been seeing it for months on Notino. Scent is quite intriguing, cannot pinpoint it clearly but to me at least in the opening, it smells like After Eight mint chocolate with a hint of marzipan, definitely reminds of a herbal-esque sweet-box of some sort from a childhood years. So rather than being green-woody scent that I expected it to be, fits almost better to gourmand category, albeit fresher, more herbal and not overly sweet in comparison with most other gourmands. Please bear in mind you might feel completely different about the scent if you do not have similar prior experience with sweet treats. Have not experienced a similar fragrance up to this point, so plus points for originality. From the notes listed, I can only relate to Herbal notes, Tea and Vetiver. As for the longevity, it is very weak, as most Novellista releases. Definitely one of the scents that you would be buying for yourself, rather than for the others to enjoy and compliment. Most likely not worth buying the entire bottle, the 10ml offering from Novellista seems just about right to use on occasion or to just have a little sniff once in a while, as scent itself is indeed interesting ...

I smelled it and it was very familiar, I remembered that my father had an old forgotten bottle, compared the two and to my surprise Novelists Vetiver Myrrh smells exactly like Black soul Imperial Ted Lapidus, I never found a "dupe" when I wanted only now by accident. This fragrance for me, no... I hate to say it both smell a bit like burned plastic/a bit of gasoline (I am really grosed out by the smell of gasoline so if you like it 🤷♀️) the Ted Lapidus perfume is wayyyy cheaper try that one if you can't find a sample for novelista or if you want a true dupe My personal opinion but I am afraid that the Ted Lapidus one is also longer lasting. Disappointed by novelists this time, although they have some GREAT 😍 fragrances.

On the strip composition smells nice, fresh and green but my skin chemistry does it dirty, quite literally, its heavy on vetiver and herbal notes, feels mature and dated, noting exquisite or drawing me in, quite the opposite. I wish it would be more aromatic instead of herbal. This is the type I wouldn't be confident in wearing but its quite interesting to sniff once in a while.

It smells like a typical grassy vetiver + cardamom men's cologne. The vetiver isn't earthy/rooty or leathery or smokey, it's green and grassy. Cologne-y, manly, and for me, dated. Huge pass.
