Sh**ty Day

I had the original Phlur Hanami in the big square bottle. Every time I wore it, I found it fascinating, but I couldn't say if I really liked it or not. But when I didn't wear it for a while, it kept popping into my head. Every time I asked someone to smell it (it was a skin scent on me), they were baffled by the combination of notes. Eventually, Hanami was reformulated, then discontinued. I have been hunting an approximation of the original ever since. On first blast, this is not Hanami. Hanami was never this outspoken, and Sh**ty Day roars. It's big, bright, sharp, and green with that eucalyptus intensity that's so prevalent in parts of Southern California. Definitely startling if this isn't your thing. I thought that whoever told me this smelled liked Hanami was insane. But as it slid into the middle notes, Hanami began to peek through. Tart, creamy, woody, salty, and arresting. On the drydown, it became a deliciously assertive version of that longed-for scent. Each waft caught me by surprise; I never thought I would find something that smelled this way again. Even better, Sh**ty Day doesn't whisper; it's subtle but present for hours on end. Now, almost 18 hours later, it's a lingering woody-salty-tart skin scent with the occasional wandering waft that lights up my memory all over again. Magnificent.

I absolutely love this scent its my favorite fragrance right now. It's not your typical clean girl crowd pleaser scent. I wouldn't say it's a safe blind buy but it is most definitely a great clean one. It's earthy but in a spa like way. I think what I love most about it is that it's super photorealistic. It 100% reminds me of growing up in SoCal in the SFV. There are several eucalyptus trees on hiking trails surrounding the Valley. Whether you're close to Ventura Blvd or somewhere out in Porter Ranch you get a nice whiff of those eucalyptus trees and lavender bushes. The fig note brings out the Mediterranean like aroma that SoCal evokes. The blend of the eucalyptus, salt, lavender and fig remind me of brisk morning hikes in the mountains surrounding the SFV. I love the salt note in there it definitely gives it a salty oceanic texture that helps mellow out the eucalyptus, which is also perfect reminder that just over those beautiful Santa Monica Mountains is the Beach. If you grew up in the LA/SFV area, you know it's hard to have a Shitty Day with all that sunshine. Don't be scared of that eucalyptus. It's done quite well in this one.

A true unisex fragrance which I fell in love with immediately. While it’s definitely not safe for a blind buy, I will talk anyone I can into testing it. It’s just intoxicating to me. It almost smells dirty, but in the best way possible. Once on the skin, it transforms into a uniquely erotic scent. Bergamot and fig make a statement, but it dries down to a musky, ambery skin scent. I’ve received a compliment about smelling good twice since purchasing and I’ve only worn it in public a handful of times. I can’t speak for the rest of the fragrances from this line, but this scent is impressively sophisticated for the price.

I get the comparisons to Santal 33, wood sage and sea salt and even Phylosikos. It is truly like all 3 combined. None of those scents are “me” but this one is! Also works with my chemistry pretty well (rare) I’d say this is the perfect summer fig in my opinion. I also liked Debaser but that is soooo strong in summer, this is much more appealing for the heat. Definitely Unisex, and definitely sexy. There’s something carnal about it, yet remains fresh. It evolves quite a bit so definitely test before buying. I sampled at Ulta and drove back that same day to purchase the 15 ml.

Just got my sample in the mail and I immediately understood why the test strip “grew on me.” It wasn’t even one of my favorites until a day or two after bringing them home. It smells completely different on my arm vs. the post-it note I just sprayed it on. I assume that’s because the sharp opening evaporates right away from skin. On paper I think I’m getting a lot of eucalyptus and cucumber. On skin I get the sandalwood and the tonka, fig, & coconut. Oh my gosh is this lovely on skin. It probably just takes a couple of days to get to this stage on paper.

A friend introduced me to this scent and told me it was one they hated so I just had to try it because ones she hates I typically like. This scent reminds me of those old brown stone townhouses in New York after it had just thunderstorms and your standing out side on your balcony when a person smoking a cigarette walks by with a very woodsy piney cologne. To me it is a very beautiful scent and I wear it when I want transport to a different place (I have always yearned for NYC). The price is pretty reasonable (for me at least).

I had to chime in on this one because it's just about the only cheapie I can stand. And much more than that: It is up there among my favorite warm weather scents. It is in the Philosykos family, to be sure, but slightly more juicy and woody. Also, though not listed, I smell the distinct texture of chewy, earthy orris (one of my favorite notes). I imagine sitting on slatted teak wood in a fancy steam room while this scent soothes all my tension away. I just can't get enough of it! And at this price, I don't have to!

This is the first fig that I've ever smelled that made me say, "I get it." I've always thought fig smells AT BEST smelled like pleasant room sprays. Usually they just smell sharp and green and not in a good way. This fragrance is so soft and beautiful, it blends into your skin like a fresh tea scent that is somehow also a "your smell but better". I just can't get enough of it! It's like a fresh breeze on a hot gross day. I can't believe how in love I am with a primarily figgy perfume. It's incredible.

To me this always smelled like damp soil in a way. Then you get the juicy fig, a little bit of aromatic-ness from the lavender and eucalyptus, something a bit savory from the salt, and overall just this nice dirt smell, like dirt after it rains. I showed this to my friend and she loves it. This is one of my favorites from Noyz. My boyfriend doesn’t like it, it’s not for everyone but I think it’s amazing. This is a fragrance that got me into earthy scents. 8/10

This line is being pushed heavily by influencers and I will just preface with I’m not one of them. I stopped in Ulta and saw the display and was intrigued so I tried all of them. This was the only love. This is a lovely aromatic scent that comes off a lot like a figgy wood sage and sea salt. It’s fresh without being boring, overly masculine, or sharp. I just adore this. A unique and wearable fragrance with decent longevity and a nice little scent cloud.

This is my favorite realistic fig scent of all time. Philosykos goes too 'green', Mystic Fig'ures is too watery, Womanity was my fave (still love, but its more salty and musky). This is fresh fig, with the stem, and perfectly balances the sweetness, fruitiness, greenness, and woodiness in a really sexy way. This would be a stunning signature scent for someone who lives in a temperate-to-warm climate year round.

Why are y’all acting so thick headed about the name?..... it’s obvious named that bc this is what you wear on shitty days to soothe you hence the spa like aroma. It’s not meant to represent the shitty day itself but the healing balm that repairs it. Duh Update 1 year later: smelt it on someone else and I hated it so much. It was a huge coconut plastic bomb and now I can’t unsmell that. Gave it away...

I like this perfume a lot. There is something so refreshing about it. I don't think it smells like Philosykos, and I have owned and used that perfume. It does have a figgy smell, but not as strong as the fig leaf smell. I think I smell more of the clary sage, bergamot, cucumber, violet, and maybbbeee the salt. It is honestly great however does not last as long as I would like to

This is a less creamy, more salt-soaked Phlur Father Figure! A true unisex scent, it brings forth a vision of sun drenched green eucalyptus trees, ocean air, and the entire fig tree bursting with ripe fruit. It is both sophisticated and fresh- appropriate in nearly every setting and non offensive to even the most sensitive nose I know

Out of all the fragrances from Noyz, Shi**y Day is my favorite. The only way I can describe the scent is it has a cool warmth. It opens with a cool and calming eucalyptus but dries down to a cozy warmth. Everything about this scent is calming. The name the brand gave this perfume is soooo fitting .

perfect perfect fig sea salted eucalyptus woody goodness. i fell in love immediately and stayed in love as it lasted all day. it smells just like a drive through bodega bay with all the eucalyptus and the sea breeze, but with a lasting fig note that is by far my favorite i’ve ever smelled.

Sharp and distinct botanical herbs, salt, and prominent fig. Woody undertone that places it firmly unisex. It's a pleasant surprise. I can see this being a little divisive, because it is a little loud for what would ostensibly be a fresh and easy scent. Hate the name though, sorry!

To my nose this is slightly salty and very fig heavy with a creamy softness to it. Performs very well for my purposes, it's a go to for the office, especially on days I know are going to be stressful. The name itself gives me a laugh but it does have a calming, spa like vibe to it.

I don’t normally gravitate towards these types of fragrances. I’m typically a gourmand girly. But this was different and oddly it did give me some sense of peace when I smelled it. So I had to get the full bottle. Love it! I even sometimes layer it with Unmute for a fresh twist

This is very light and uplifting. I could really see this improving a bad day. The eucalyptus is very strong at first then the green fig notes. As it dries down it gets very airy and salty. Not overpowering and I could see this being a good work/daytime scent.

Ugly name, but beautiful complex fragrance! The top notes are clean and sharp, but the dry down is kinda sweet and delicate. Longevity also seems great especially for the price point.

Love this perfume! I like that it can be used in the winter and sunny days. Makes me feel confident, fresh, and clean.

Warm, happy, tart and fresh. A composition that's more than the sum of its parts. I discovered this gem when I popped in to Ulta looking for an entirely different fragrance house. I didn't find that house, but when I stumbled upon NOYZ on the endcap, this fragrance name immediately jumped out at me (of course). I've had a rough go of it for a few weeks, so naturally, I was intrigued. Immediately upon spraying, I was hit with the rich nutty and salty fig, bright bergamot and lively lavender. The vibe is comforting, uplifting and freeing. A necessary refresh. There's nothing heavily floral, gourmand or musky. This is shower fresh, clean and effortless. It smells good on me, which is a feat on my finicky skin. I'm reminded of other fig-forward fragrances Sel Santal (Clean Reserve) and the discontinued Hanami (PHLUR); and I wore the latter extraordinarily well. These are/were tart and dryer figs, as opposed to the damp and greener Philosykos. And this offering from NOYZ follows the same jive. Longevity is fair, and this quickly settles into a pleasant and jovial slightly-sweet woody warmth. The tartness never completely disappears, and it's my favorite facet. A fabulous anytime and anywhere fragrance that would be a great signature.

On initial spray I noticed a very fresh realistic cucumber scent followed by a very soft powdery and steamy eucalyptus and sage. On the dry down I did notice it got a lot muskier and the bergamot became a stronger background note but didn't overtake it, it just added to the freshness. I would classify this as a basic clean powder fragrance, maybe a little bit musky from the saltiness and cedarwood too. I didn't especially notice any fig or coconut on first spray or on the dry down. Not sure how safe this would be as a blind buy considering my brother's only takeaway from this was "it smells like when you mow the lawn" or "the grass clippings jellybean you get doing the bamboozled challenge". The projection is actually pretty great considering everyone who came into my bedroom for the next couple hours asked me what that smell was after I just sprayed once on my wrist. Longevity is pretty mid though, I'd say about 3 hours until you'd need a touch up. I don't usually like scents like these but I really enjoyed it, but I just don't think this is something I'd purchase again. - It gives sitting in a fluffy warm spa robe with cucumber slices on your eyes and drinking an ice cold glass of water with exactly 2 lemon slices.

Oh wow!!! I have many thoughts about this. I tested 3 out of 4 today and this one is definitely the most unique to my nose so far from this brand. Possibly not unique outside of the realm of designer perfumes, but within...certainly. It's honestly refreshing both to the nose itself, but also to the mind. People are reporting more fig, and I get that, but I really do feel that this is decidedly herbal. Herbal, and salty. It's outdoorsy and smells somewhat like Wood Sage and Sea Salt (so I agree with the comparisons), but this has more of a fruity undertone and I sense a stronger woodiness. I don't get cedar or anything specific, but it's a fresh wood and absolutely classically unisex. It's a very functional, tomboyish and decently constructed fragrance. It would be slightly bitter actually without the addition of that "amber" (vanilla, mostly), but it's only serving to *smooth* this out, not to interrupt the freshness here. I like it, it's an "everybody fragrance" (I believe everything is truly, but you KWIM). And...I think the quippy name works.

I got this when it was new to the market and I hoped it would be similar to Liis' In This World. If that's what you're hoping for, you're going to be disappointed. But you might still like it. Like others have said, the opening is similar to the Liis fragrance, but it turns into another Wood Sage and Sea Salt pretty quick with a vinegary undertone. It's not bad, but it's not great? It's ok. The branding has a cool vibe and they're nice, just not for me. I've learned that I don't love oceanic fragrances (or rather, I'm very picky about them). Shitty Day has an herbal coast at sunset kinda feeling that's pretty popular for summer, but honestly this one is better as an early fall transition fragrance. Summer's ending, and it's time to get one last walk on the beach before your vacation ends kinda vibe.

green, powdery fig against a backdrop of salt water. my standout favorite of the noyz samples, which is no surprise since this smells like philosykos meets wood sage and sea salt. it's really pleasant, light but comforting. i usually don't like powdery scents but the lavender, fig, and wood is velvety soft. i don't smell the eucalyptus, nothing camphoric, but for me that's preferable. at this price, i can see why you'd pick this over wsss or philosykos but my caveat is that it's so similar to those two it's probably not worth getting if you already have one (or, like me, a wsss-like dupe). i'm just not sure it has enough of its own character? hard to say

Initial spray is a very citrusy fig which, shockingly, makes it quite unique. Couldn't place the salt notes initially, but they are there for sure. Upon dry down the sharpness disappears almost entirely and it just smells like a dirtier phylosykos. That said, it has quite a bit more longevity than any fig perfumes I've tried (and I have tried a lot) so that is absolutely a point in its favor, even though I wouldn't call this "groundbreaking" by any measure. Easily my favorite of those I was able to sample, but definitely not what I'm going to assume is gonna be a huge hit with the majority of Ulta's customers.

This opens with a really nice earthy bergamot citrus that quickly blends with the fig on my skin. As it develops, it softens into a creamy, sweet-leaning woody fig that stays smooth and very wearable. Importantly (for me), it never tips into anything sickly or develops any late-stage acrid or dirty notes — which is not always a given with this brand on my skin. It’s calm, pleasant, and well behaved throughout. I wouldn’t personally buy a full bottle, but this is genuinely one of the best fig scents I’ve tried on my skin. Definitely worth sampling if you enjoy fig fragrances.

love the initial spray but this one dissipates SO quickly on my skin - barely lasted the morning at work. i remember the test strip from ulta holding the scent longer, and i do get whiffs from my clothes occasionally. i like that this is a salty, oceanic take on fig, it feels different from others in my collection. very cool and breezy, not super coconutty or green to my nose. will probably not repurchase the edp after my travel spray runs out, but kind of curious about the solid perfume as a layering tool.

Fragrances is all about experiences to me. Either it invokes one or is associated with one. The note of eucalyptus hits hard on the opening for me. Almost all I can smell. Relaxing exhale came to mind which is PERFECT for thus scent. As it settles the creamy woody / amber base becomes more prominent. The rest of the ensemble makes this screams spa day to me. Dont know how much social wear this will get but I can see it serving as a mood booster at bedtime or even sprayed on a hot towel before i shave.

the opening of this is sour, savory, and pickly, but the drydown is really nice. it has a sweet, woody accord (cedar, amber, sandalwood, vanilla) that lingers. i don't get all of the notes listed from this; i'm not detecting fig?? don't know what's wrong w me. not a fan of the name or the concept, as this is not the type of fragrance i'd reach for if i was having a shitty day. but it was a gift and i'm happy with it! i have the solid perfume and it lasts a good 3-4 hours with a light breezy sillage.

This opens up quite astringently citrussy with a bergamot that is verging on lemon cleaning product. However this soon dries down to a pleasant bright and uplifting peachy scent. I know no peach is listed and it is probably the creamy yet fruity affect of the fig note but to me it comes off more as peach. Undeniably pleasant, juicy and refreshing in a fruity shampoo kinda way.

definitely a saltier, near marine take on fig but i like this one a lot nonetheless! the cucumber and lavender notes make this one a bit more crisp and therapeutic, more suited for an early morning or fresh summer day. the fig isn't as prominent as in debaser or philosykos even, but it is far more wearable and will definitely appeal to even non-fig lovers!

A pretty good scent all things considered. Started out really refreshing with the eucalyptus, citrus, and fig, but settles more into the lavender, sage, musk for me. I won't be purchasing a whole bottle for myself. Though, I could see this being a really stellar everyday unisex perfume that has good longevity.

This one is nice. It's such an uplifting and UNIQUE scent. It's so well balanced and it's truly unisex. It marries with my body chemistry so perfectly. The brand is truly out there and they're not blind-buy safe, but for those that like it, I truly think this one is worth adding to your collection.

Salty fresh aromatic fig. A little synthetic, but in an addictive kind of way. Not as complex as the notes pyramid would imply, this is fairly unique but still very accessible. Easily my favorite of the four I tried from the brand.

Super complex scent that smells identical to fresh honeysuckle straight off the bush... smokey, sexy, yes yes yes. I actually don't get a beachy scent at all unlike others, this is a hot summer night to me

I love this. It’s not my favorite but I love it. She reminded me of Sizzling vanilla by VS and I layered them together and it made such an amazing unique scent. I love it but not my favorite. 8/10.

This is really nice! I have the solid version. It smells clean and fresh with some woodsy notes. Has a smidge of a mildewy smell but in a totally non-offensive way (IMO), so I would not blind-buy.

the opening smells like wood sage and sea salt with byredo pulp sprayed on top. the dry down is like a stronger and slightly more metallic wood sage and sea salt. overall very happy with this one!

Watery gentle fig leaves with freshness from freesia (probably violets gives this effect for me). Comfortable and polite. Usually I hate sage, but I didn’t detect it here. I wish it last longer.

Woody Fig scent - similar to the concept of Phylosykos. The fig is more green vs fruity. I really am addicted to this scent - it gives me serenity & calmness. May not be a crowd pleaser.

Can definitely see the similarities to In This World, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, and Philosykos. Very nice. If you enjoy those scents, this is a nice alternative at a lower price point.

I like this! The fig and eucalyptus fade quickly, but what you're left with smells like taking a bath in a forest next to the sea.

Wood Sage and Sea Salt + Philosykos. Opening is more about the fig, while the dry down is the opening of WSSS.
