Indonesian Cassia is what is actually listed in the note breakdown on the official NOYZ website and has nothing to do with black currant leaves. It’s a different type of cinnamon. So there are two types of cinnamon in the top of this fragrance. That’s the sharp chemical-ish vibe you’re getting when you first smell this. I think what makes this weird for some people is literally the fact that we as Americans typically go for the cinnamon sticks that are solid and woody, but this also incorporates Ceylon cinnamon and that has a slightly different flavor and aroma. The two together pack a very nice punch. It needs a second to chill and dry down, but I love this. I’m in a vanilla-era, for sure, and this has such a year round vibe to me, I can’t wait to wear it more as the weather warms up. The sharpness leads the way to a smoky vanilla that is very unisex and very likable. The pistachio adds a sweet nutty quality to the juicy plum. I don’t have either of those notes in any of my other perfumes, so this scent journey is a treat. I also just realized that unlike my signature scent, Ani/Ani X, this is a vanilla adventure that doesn’t have any citrus involved. I think that’s what makes it stand out so much to me right now. I originally just got the solid fragrance (to maybe take the edge off and keep me from buying the actual perfume) but I ended up liking it so much I bought the bottle and the travel size!

I love this scent. I will not lie I gravitated towards this because of the bottle design. It's sweet but the smoky and spicy notes really stood out to me. I've been wanting to find vanilla scents that are more unisex and I feel this one does it perfectly. Actually, the scent profile could be categorized with TFTV and other similar scents. This is distinct though and on top of it having fruity notes I appreciate that it isn't gourmand. Longevity is about 8-12hrs. I need to add that Vanilla Vice is similar but not a dupe it doesn't have any fruity notes or smokiness. Edit: It's been a month since I bought this, and I have mixed feelings about it so far. The travel size spilled in one of my leather bags on a hot day and the smell is so alcoholic it's nauseating. Even on initial sprays there's something quite off putting that reminds me of the smell of burnt plastic. Perhaps the heat tempered with my perfume or I'm just now picking up on those notes lol??? The dry down is waaaay better & longevity is the same. I probably ruined this for myself but be careful!! Not safe to toss in a bag which is annoying since it's a travel size.

This feels like walking outside in late november and catching a whiff of a bonfire on the breeze. You would think based on the notes that this would smell warm but I personally don't think so. It's brooding and rugged and makes me want to wear a leather jacket. There's some bright but smooth sweetness and something like tabacco and black pepper on the opening, but the dry down is mostly smoky amber, and what I can only describe as TV static, or that pins and needles feeling you get when you lay on your arm too long. The nippy/buzzy note makes this fragrance very distinct, I feel a little quirked up when I wear it. Its lacking in longevity but I kind of like an excuse to reapply so I can enjoy the opening again. I got the .5 oz bottle but I will seriously consider getting the full size later. I'm shocked this this is getting as many negative reviews as it is. Update: bought a full bottle, along with only human and 12:00. Zero regrets whatsoever. This scent will forever be synonymous with this era of my life, I can't wait to smell it when I'm 40 and get blasted with nostalgia for my 20s (if it isn't discontinued, god forbid)

Out of all of the sweet, vanilla, smoky scents... Unmute is my favorite! I would consider this to be in the same scent family as By the Fireplace, Vanilla 28, Milk, etc. it’s a spicy vanilla for sure, but I’d say it’s the most delicate and comforting. I smelled this at Ulta and didn’t know anything about this brand. I think it blew up on Tik Tok lately, but I digress. It’s truly such a yummy scent. Upon spraying it, I smelled a blast of amber. Very similar to the scent DNA in Amber Vanilla by 7V or glossier You. What I mean by this is it smells like skin. Natural. Almost aldehydic, but not quite. You smell the amber, the incense, and the warm vanilla. It’s spicy and amazing. Such a smoke show. I really do love this because the sweet vanilla totally pokes through. I would say this is unisex, but it’s sweet enough where it can be feminine-leaning. I would purchase a bottle. It’s sweet enough to where gourmand girlies can enjoy this.

Noyz Unmute smells like your good old pure amber in the opening, lasting a considerable time before it dries down. I've been searching for that. Now I'm glad I didn't purchase Dedcool Taunt even though its amber, paired with a sparkling bergamot and sweet pink chapstick vanilla, was good too. It was just too oily upon spraying and it became too intimate in projection after a few hours on me. Unmute has a more myrrh-like, citric-accented, bright amber, like in Aerin Tangier Vanille and the dustier Byredo Antique Vanille. Then it turns into your plummy, woody vanilla as it dries down, like the gorgeous G&B Silky Woods that also has that same sweet vanilla with balancing boozy vanilla extract facets. All complimenting the amber. So good but it has terrible longevity on me. Unmute lasts like 4 hours on my skin for now, but I'm sure it'll get stronger with these kind of notes.

I sprayed this all over my arm/wrist in ulta and went back to car. As I’m driving home, I keep getting whiffs of this, and I’m so intrigued. It’s deep and rich and very heavy on the incense. I get mainly incense and plum, with vanilla dancing around in the background but definitely not stealing too much attention. As it dries down, and through the next couple of hours, it becomes more warm, rich, and addictive. The frequency at which I find my nose pressed against my wrist is increasing- this is mouthwatering at the 2 hour mark. 2-6 hours is the best and most enjoyable part of this fragrance. I fortunately for a dark, juicy plum throughout the entire wear of the fragrance. It was by far the most distinctive note, along with the incense and amber. The amber in this was incredibly enjoyable. I love this perfume. Would only wear at night or in fall or winter.

Good heavens. I love this 🥺💛🤍 It's soft...delicious, comforter on a cold night super vanillic amber! Just the right amount of spice! Just the right amount of clean musk (there's a little here, even though it's not listed in the notes). It's NOT groundbreaking, but it's addictive. This is also not a 90s cinnamon (which I also love, it's just a different style), the stuff here smells like it's laced in sugar, and it's airy-er, not a bombastic spice whatsoever (it needs to be mentioned, some folks hate cinnamon but I still think this is worth testing even if you do). This is just so, so pretty. Again, nothing super new but it's a solid. It has that Gen-Z lightness to it, and while myself, a Millennial enjoys other styles, I can appreciate excellent new perfumes too...and I think this is one of them.

I smelled this in store the first time and hated it. Then, later that day I'm getting whiffs of it and loving it- tale as old as time. It's a really interesting vanilla, almost oud-y almost a little molecular. ***To me*** it smells like if Mod Vanilla by Ariana Grande and Cheeky Smile by Jusbox had a baby. It lasts a long time, and performs very interestingly in hot weather, its like a different perfume entirely when it's hot out. I feel like passing by, people are definitely getting more of a straightforward vanilla upon first impression. It definitely gets better the more you sit with it smelling it. I would not blind buy it expecting a plain vanilla though, i think marketing has definitely portrayed it as such.

Gaahhh!! The middle sister is here! 😊😊 Ok, context. I LOVE Jerome Epinette’s creations. And this one is special... this scent profile is the same one DK Cashmere and Palo Santo and AG Mod Vanilla are in, and I recognized him immediately on the first incredible sniff. As a collector, this is a must have for me. For those trying to choose just one, Cashmere and Palo Santo is the woodier ambery big sister, Mod Vanilla is the sugary sweet baby sister, and Unmute is right in the middle... smoky, a little less sweet, and like most middle kids, a little nutty☺️😂. This is a deliciously interesting plum vanilla with beautiful character and a head turning opening. Another win for Mr. Epinette... and my collection!

Immediately on my "Want" list. It's doing all the things I love: Plum. Incense. Cinnamon. Sage. Just a haze of Vanilla but not so much it feels immature to my senses. Noyz has successfully imitated a 90's early 00's fragrance I've been scouring to find I would actually wear. It's become part of my selection to find something as close to Givenchy Indecence ca.1999 but it's long past discontinued sadly and costs too much online. I find this is quite reminiscent of it. And while there is something gimmicky, one and done about this new trendy brand I'm reminded that's why it's trying to lean into the popularized Y2K aesthetic all over again.

This is one of my signature smells, I feel like I always get compliments on it. I get that it is a perfume containing a vanilla note...but I wouldn't necessarily call it a vanilla perfume? I don't know how to describe it but it's not the primary note I get. I mostly get the plum, incense, and clary sage on me. This perfume feels like TV static. If you grew up with a CRT TV and got too close to the screen, that's this. It also lasts forever on me! Props for the packaging as well, I feel like this is definitely the beefiest travel size I own, the sprayer is great and the glass is super thick so I don't worry about tossing it in my bag.

Maybe I've lucked out with skin chemistry, but I love this. I get a lovely, creamy plum initially which does linger, but overall it developes into a dark interesting vanilla with incense/amber notes making sure it's not too sweet. It's bold but not overpowering, and there's definitely a dose of ambroxan in the mix, which I often find tiresome in modern fragrance, but it feels in balance with the other notes. The closest thing I've smelled to it is Narcotic Delight by Initio. The y2k aesthetic of the bottle is a fun bonus too. Overall it's another win from Jérôme Epinette for me - I can't stop smelling my wrists.

This is so interesting! It has taken me several wears to figure it out on my skin. It is in another universe from popular sweet warm vanillas. It starts spicy and plum heavy. It stays pretty crisp for a long time and takes about an hour or two on my skin to bring in any warmth. The vanilla starts sort of extract like. It does become more sweet overtime but nothing approaching a typical sweet warm winter vanilla. I say that because I do like those profiles and this is totally different. I would not blind buy this just because it's described as a vanilla fragrance. It is very unique and complex!

The edp is a hellishly overdone ambroxany amber blast into the firey pits of hell itself. For covid nose, perhaps. Their solid perfume/perfume stick is strong without KO'ing a user to the floor, one gets to enjoy the full scope of this composition and it is glorious. And at half the cost, has seen much more use in my tray than the former which must wait for a cold day in the infernal abyss before I touch it again. Pity it is so lopsided, the darker spiced notes are deliriously phenomenal alongside amber in the way they play off of and dance with one another. Kalayi 28 who, we don't know her.

Spicy-smoky smells like this are so hard to find. I have no idea why everyone thinks this is a majorly vanilla perfume- the note I get the most of is incense. The vanilla is kind of in the background, and gives the fragrance a nice sweet facet. It's such a sharp and distinct scent, the kind that would usually be behind a 350 dollar price tag- but it's not! It's unique, at a price lower than most department store luxury fragrances. I don't think I've smelled anything quite like it. I will say it's a little harsh on the nose, but if you want to smell like sweet-and-spicy smoke, buy this!

i don’t really get why this scent is controversial, although i grew up with my mom wearing vanilla amber scents so they’re close to my heart. i love the plum note, i enjoy vanilla scents with a fruit note and i don’t think it pulls medicinal at all. maybe my nose is different though and everyone experiences scent differently. i don’t get very much incense but i enjoy an incense note a lot. i love this scent a lot, i feel like noyz does a lot with elevating scents that are “basic” which is something i love! probably why i like this one so much

I am in love with this!! I can absolutely see why some people say it smells like you tried to cover up your cigarette stink. There’s some ingredient about this that smells a little synthetic to me, and I really wish it wasn’t. But apart from that, the base notes of vanilla and amber really steal the show in my opinion and those are two of my all time favorite notes! I ordered the solid fragrance and was lucky enough that they also sent a sample of the actual perfume, so I got to try layering them, and I think that makes a huge difference.

Complex, woody, sweet, spicy. Sexy and a little spooky. Enchanted forest witch. hot girl Halloween. Has an powerful edge to it. Rhaenyra Targaryen's signature scent. Good all year round but will shine in the fall. I personally don't find the aesthetic and packaging very elegant so I didn't really want to like this as much as I do. Probably not a safe blind buy though and I could see some people finding it sharp or sour. Editing to say on my skin I unfortunately get a bit of a burnt plastic after the dry down.

This is gewd. Very alluring. This is a slightly smoky and fruity vanilla-amber. I’m not sure if it’s the clary sage, incense, or cassia, but something is reading like tobacco on my skin. The plum gives it a slightly sour aspect. It does remind me of many other scents which makes it a little trendy for my taste, but can’t deny it’s an addicting blend. Ps this might contain whatever chemical “amber” ingredient that Zara seems to use- reads a lot like rubbing alcohol.

I have no idea how this is rated only 3.86. This is a smoky vanilla, very unisex, very sexy. I have a large collection and this is one of the most addictive to my nose currently. I’ve been wearing it often simply because I enjoy it so much, but I’ve also had a surprising amount of compliments on it when I’m out and about as well. Give this one a try—Apparently it doesn’t work on everyone’s skin, but when it works, it WORKS. 10/10.

First impression- a more office friendly version of Arabians Tonka - which I do love as well. Warm, sweet and cozy, perfect for a rainy grey day like this. I can’t pick out the cinnamon at all on its own - it’s maybe just contributing to the overall warm feeling. I think this might end up being a love not a like - just need to road test the longevity.

This reminds me of Vanilla Vice by Snif but less gourmand and sweet, and more mature, smokey and earthy. I actually think I’d rather wear this fragrance even though I own Vanilla Vice. The cinnamon is sweet and spicy, then the incense gives it a sexy sort of edge. This is a dark mysterious musky vanilla. It has a similar DNA as Sh**ty Day. 8.5/10

Very amber and vanilla forward. Spicy, sensual, and warm. This is the perfume for the cool girl at the bar. I personally wouldn’t overspray, as after a while of smelling (in my car...bad move I know) it kind of gave me a headache. Pretty long lasting and a great price. Very much reminds me of Valentino Born in Roma EDP. Perhaps a good dupe.

This is really nice, it's super similar to smokin gun by borntostandout but softer and maybe a little more vanilla-focused. This also has a sort of ambroxan/cetalox mineral saltiness to it that I love. Projection seems pretty good, one spray from the sample on my arm and I smell it in the air around me as I'm going about my day.

smells like the cupcake phase. No, not like cupcakes, but like the warmth of falling for somebody new lol. a lovely incense-y vanilla with a plum found quickly after the dry down. Definitely wearable by a man, wanted to help balance the scales and click masculine leaning but in all reality it’s perfectly unisex

Wow! The closest thing to Unmute is Vanille Antique and Cashmere & Palo Santo. I've read people don't like the metallic-y note which I adore. Vanilla Vice is quite similar but louder and woodsier. Mod Vanilla is just more sweet. Vanilla Woods is also similar, but in a fruity way. Overall, great scent!

This is such a gorgeous smoky, amber-vanilla fragrance--it reminds me of roasting marshmallows by the fireplace. It's dark but not heavy, and I find it lasts pretty long on skin. Perfect for a fall night out or day inside decorating for Halloween with a clove-scented candle burning in the background.

This is delicious. First sprays gets you excited and the dry down deliciously smoky vanilla . very beautiful on my skin. The initial spray doesn’t last too long. Maybe you get the full smell for an hour hour and a half dry down will go to about three hours. Not a blind buy you should smell it.

I can understand why people don't like this. It's not your typical gourmande in my opinion. But I love it. It's vanillay but the incense and amber make it really spicy, smokey and unique. It reminds me of a buffer, spicier, slightly more unisex version of Kayali Vanilla 28.

This is a good line to wear to work, hospital or school. this is my favorite of the brand. LOVE IT Sweet vanillic amber. Similar to a woody vanilla like vanilla vice, silky woods, and cashmere and Palo - with a pinch more fruitiness (plum). Rated: Smell good feel good

Omg this is lovely. It’s a very woody vanilla I really love it. Last a really long time on the skin and I just can’t stop smelling myself! I have nothing that smells like this. Def recommend

On me this is a strangely light scent, atypical of a vanilla-based scent. This is in part due to using a Ceylon cinnamon note which smells lighter and dare I say sweeter than its Saigon cousin (Fragrantica lists Cassia but Noyz lists Ceylon, so I'm going with the official note list as provided by Noyz). The plum and Ceylon remove the heaviness and makes it warm-weather appropriate, kind of like a faint whiff of spiced vanilla with a dose of fruitiness for a sort of yin-yang effect. It is not a gourmand on me but still semi-sweet. I can kind of detect the pistachio but it's a minor presence. I like it, but I think there are better and more impactful scents out there. It's good as a "hey I'm in Ulta, let me spray something on me" scent but I don't know if I'd buy a full bottle of it, even as cheap as it is comparatively.

A good regular amber-vanilla. Besides those two I pick up on the sage & incense the most. By like 6-ish hours develops more into the vanilla side, where before that note was fainter compared to the amber. Stayed the duration of my shift and I didn’t feel the need to reapply after working up a sweat from mopping, and on future wears I could still smell it on my wrist 12hrs+ later. Though I only have a sample, I love the price point and the fact that they offer a solid perfume. 🫶 A nice reliable all-rounder that I may consider picking up a full of since it’s not expensive.

I received what was called a “free sample” but ended up being one of those magazine inserts. I’m kinda annoyed but tried rubbing it on skin anyway. I don’t know any notes, writing this off only what I smell. Replica’s By the Fireplace mixed with Penhaligon’s Babylon and Kayali Vanilla 28. It’s vanillic, woody, sweet, chestnut. I get a dose of something like cypriol as well. Nothing too smoky or cloying. This one is good! I wouldn’t mind a true sample of this. After checking out the notes here, I think the chestnut note I’m getting is actually pistachio.

Tried in sampler. Really enjoyed, not an everyday choice for me. Creamy vanilla, raisin or dried fig or prune (more than fresh plum), something floral, maybe violet. Unisex. Reminds me a lot of Purple Suede by Goldfield & Banks, which would be my go-to in similar territory. I disagree with the cheapness opinions regarding the brand's blends and complexity, but I think perceptions may be influenced by the branding, which is amateurish (youthful and indy needn't be mediocre) and diminishes the brand's potential equity.

a nice staple smokey vanilla scent. i don’t really get any of the plum or pistachio. i mainly get smoke, vanilla, and a bit of spice from the cinnamon. the clary sage gives it a subtle aromatic facet that really pushes this fragrance into unisexuality. i feel comfortable wearing this as a woman (albeit layered with sweeter, creamier scents), but i also think this would be incredibly sexy on a guy. i’m also surprised that nobody has mentioned how much this smells like vanilla skin from phlur.

When I first smelled this out of the bottle, I didn't enjoy it very much. Thought it was too sweet and overbearing. HOWEVER....I got a travel size as a gift recently and I completely changed my mind. It's rich but once it sat on my skin it wasn't too much. This is a great versatile vanilla scent that I think could work as a casual scent or something special. I also got some compliments when I wore it out which is always nice :)

Sprayed it...liked it immediately (despite the mild headache it gave me) went back and sprayed on more and that's when it clicked - Marc Jacobs Decadence, my old love! :) They are very similar and it has that same no nonsense sexy independent woman drinking dirty martinis at the bar by herself energy that I love. Found it at Ulta- worth a smell of you like heavy amber vanillas!

Having seen the notes it is no surprise this smells rather addicting to me. A warm gourmand amber with some deep fruitiness from plum, a note that I love. I will have to re-test this in winter as it is on the verge of sickly. However if you aren't too sensitive to sweetness in a perfume you should try this as it is rather delicious.

To me, this isn't a vanilla perfume. The opening is plum and incense. It sweetens up as it sits, and ends up smelling like a fruity honey with some added warm spiciness on me. The solid perfume is more plum-forward than the spray, but both smell like plum throughout. It is addictive and I enjoy it.

Sweet woody scent with a distinguished fruity note. It’s very pleasant and easy-going, could be a nice everyday fragrance. For me it’s more of a winter fragrance, due to radiant warming base. Similar profile with: Gris Charnel BDK Parfums, Platinum 22 Floris and Vanilla Woods The 7 Virtues

Unmute is a fairly simple vanilla-amber with a hint of plum and spice. I wish it smelled as complex to me as the note pyramid suggests it is, but it’s very nice all the same. (It certainly doesn’t smell “edgy” like the advertising wants to make you think.) I consider this solidly unisex.

I like it! I think the smokey notes add a nice touch and I plan to wear this during the fall. I Got the 15 ml for $35 so definitely not a bank breaker. It doesn't have a lot going on but it makes me feel very mysterious which I'm always down for.
