Arbo Liberté

A clean and green, fresh-smelling fougere with average performance. The opening is mostly bergamot and pepper to my nose, though there is definitely lime in there if you're looking for it. The aromatics begin to peek through almost immediately, particularly the sage and green notes. It's very green throughout, perhaps to the detriment of the lily of the valley, lavender, and jasmine, which get pretty muted and hard to detect for me. The cardamom is there, but mostly modulates the freshness rather than adding any sort of spice. The drydown remains quite green, the basil and green notes stick around for hours on my skin which is a lovely complement to the clean moss and musk. I cannot smell the sandalwood at all, but I suppose it sort of smooths the boundary between the vegetal scent of the moss and the fuzzy cleanness of the musk. In keeping with fresh and clean, there's virtually no sweetness to this scent. The first two hours of wear are an intensely clean and pleasant experience, like the inside of an impossible greenhouse. Fresh cut grass and herbs focused through a slightly floral lens. The moss and musk smell great, and the persistence of the basil and green notes elevates the drydown to where I find myself sneaking a sniff throughout the day. Sillage is average, performance is acceptable probably 3-6 hours depending on your skin. Now, as a note I've been wearing this in 100°F/38°C weather and I think that's where it shines given its lack of sweetness and emphasis on clean and green. I think a person of any age could wear this smell, and I think it leans masculine but could be unisex for some folk. I'm a fan of the bottle, but the cap does feel a little cheap. Atomizer is functional and doesn't leak. I am still pretty new into the hobby, and I made this purchase to contrast an aromatic fougere with an aquatic (Givenchy pour home blue label). While they're both extremely versatile, they smell radically different. I found myself saying "this fragrance smells great" with the aquatic and saying "wow, I smell great" with this fragrance. I think this scent could be improved by the addition of bamboo or rosemary in the middle notes. Before closing, I feel I should address the "Headspace Waterfall" note. To me, it's pure marketing. I don't see it, and I can't force myself to see it even if I try. If I'm being very generous, maybe the basil and some of the green notes smell a little wet? I don't know, man. Overall, I recommend this to anyone in hot climates. It cuts through the heat, clean and green, and to me it's a welcome change from blue and aquatic summer/spring scents. If you can find it, it's worth picking up.

The headspace waterfall is what makes this cologne so enticing to wear. After being on my skin for hours I can still smell that exuberant freshness radiating around my skin. After reading reviews I thought this would be too young for a middle aged married man but I realized I liked smelling this fresh regardless of my age. No synthetic dry down or unpleasant blending of chemicals.

It seems even more like the original than the original itself. The scent of the original sometimes becomes sharp, masking the main green accords. Here, there is a bit more "base," making the perfume more consistent. But it has practically the same scent profile, perhaps with a more present aquatic tone (although I also sense this tone in the original, as there is a lot of interchangeability between what we perceive as a "green" or aquatic scent).

Olha aqui, que perfume gostosinho pra usar durante o dia viu, versátil demais, agrada fácil, não incomoda, tem uma boa presença igual o Arbo tradicional, mas sem ser tão forte, gostei demais! Vale muito o preço que tem, performance boa até, recomendo demais esse!!!
