Coffee Duo Man

Coffee Man Duo is the textbook definition of a dating/party fragrance. The opening immediately reminds me of Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male—very sweet and fruity with vanilla. Over time, the fruity sweetness fades into the background and you notice more of the beautiful sandalwood and the coffee note, which fits the scent profile perfectly. The coffee note is by no means too strong. The coffee note gives the fragrance more maturity and seduction. The vanilla, tonka bean, and sandalwood remain clearly noticeable in the background—at this point, the scent leans more in the direction of Scandal Le Parfum: sweet, fruity, sandalwood, vanilla, and tonka bean. In the drydown, this wonderfully pleasant sandalwood stays close to the skin as a skin scent. Totally my kind of scent profile. It’s not necessarily the most elegant or business-like fragrance—I wouldn’t really wear it to the office because it doesn’t fit a conservative office setting—but for date night or a going-out/party evening: 100%—compliment magnet, no doubt. Sillage-wise, it’s strong at first and you really notice the fragrance and that fruity sweetness. Once the fruity sweetness is gone and what’s left is vanilla and tonka bean with a bit of coffee, the sillage drops noticeably and it becomes a skin scent fairly quickly. Longevity is moderate for an EDT: people will notice you for one to at most two hours. Enough for a dinner, but too short for a full evening with multiple events. The scent is so good, though, that I’d bring a small atomizer and re-spray—or just buy Scandal Le Parfum or Ultra Male as an alternative... Coffee Man Duo is one of the best O Boticário fragrances I’ve ever had the chance to test—and I’ve tested quite a few.

It's a nocturnal fragrance for you to meet some people at a dimly lit place, not to party too intensely, but to mostly sit around and look pretty / handsome. I like to wear it when I'm feeling more masculine, when I want to wear masculine clothes and exude a more nonchalant, but still comforting scent. It's sweet, but there's something that tempers the sweetness that almost feels boozy to me. I just don't like that it smells too synthetic fruity and extremely expansive on the open, but later on the fragrance dries down quite nicely! For an EDT it stays on for the whole night which is quite surprising to me. Another side note is that while this is sweet, it doesn't turn waxy on my acid pH skin due to the amber and benzoin. It's not my favorite and it's slightly generic, but for the cost it's nice enough. As a plus, it smells masculine without being overbearing or "macho" like. People I've kissed while wearing this fragrance have good memories associated with it lol.
