Malbec Noir

This scent profile is unique to my nose and this is my second blind buy from O Boticario. I love this one, its citrusy, fruity and musky. The opening gives you that citrus-fruity vibe then as it dries down, there's some smokiness and sweetness to it as well. I find this one sexy and versatile. I've never been to Brazil but the scent profile makes me picture the place Rio de Janeiro at night and hangin out in a club or having a cozy evening in a tourist hotel near the Amazon jungle. I would say this is perfect for cold weather or cooler nights and although versatile, I am guessing it can be cloying in high heat because of the sweetness. Best for age group 35 below but some more mature guys can pull this off as well. I have couple frags in my collection that are originally from Italy, a handful from the Middle East and now two from Brazil. I'm happy ;) 8/10 for me “Let's spread the scents of peace and kindness. This is the first I’ve tried from the brand, but judging off Malbec Noir... they need more attention. Shares many similarities with issey miyake nuit d’issey Parfum. I use to own that years ago and I remember it having more of a bubblegummy vibe going on with it. This has more fruity notes on the top. I can clearly make out the pineapple. Drydown gets a bit darker, woodier and warmer. It’s very nice and pretty good longevity. I would use this for cooler weather and most situations it’ll go well with. This definitely wouldn’t offend anyone. I’d like to try more from this brand, this has gotten my hopes high for others. P.s. the cap is amazing, I love the feel of it.

Love the fragrance, hate the opening! Long lasting signature, this is amazing! So different from Brazil's traditional approach to fragrances. Nothing I have smells quite like it, and while being "niche"-like this is super wearable and likeable.

Awesome fragrance! Grapes and water notes dominate the whole drydown. This Noir release is a hundred times better than the original Malbec, which I personally hate. Projection and longevity are excellent.

Even if you don't consider this the best Malbec it will be hard to deny that it is the most original in the line. It retains the vinous touch that is characteristic of the Malbec series, which is more evident here than in any other, but with a different facet—fruity and fresh, not spicy, woody, and warm, as is the traditional profile of the line, more evidently present in Club Intenso, for example. To me, Malbec Noir is not only the best Malbec but also one of the best perfumes in Brazilian perfumery. It is a Malbec suited to our climate, with a DNA that references the more traditional line of Brazilian perfumery, while presenting itself as something entirely unique, without seeking inspiration or trying to be declared copies of designer perfumes, as seen in many of Natura's launches in their Homen line, or even Boticário with Quasar Brave, among others. Despite its name, this is not a "black" or dark perfume, predominantly nocturnal, serious, or closed. It is fresh, with an aromatic and slightly aquatic opening, but with a unique sweet development that resembles a chilled, or even frozen grape, with something metallic, cold, and fruity as I perceive (not equally, but referentially) in Hermès' H24. (This fruity and metallic aspect also closely resembles Malbec Magnetic, but I consider Noir superior in every respect, being more daring and sensual without trying too hard to be those things). To me, it's a perfume for the afternoon, early evening, and the beginning of the night, at that moment when it starts to get dark. It also brings a sensual element with its fruity and sweet wine-like notes, making it very fitting for intimate moments. However, I don't find it to be a formal perfume, as others say, because it is quite open to my nose and with very clear and prominent synthetic notes. In this aspect of prominent synthetic notes, it reminds me in its approach of YSL's Y EDP (or perhaps Y Parfum, being a bit sweeter and more closed than Y) as something aromatic and fruity with a clear and "sharp" or "clean" synthetic sweetness, not "dirty" or smoky or more complex with its mixed notes, as happens in perfumes with more natural notes. In Y, this synthetic note is very evident in its "green apple," here, in Malbec Noir, it is in its "chilled grape." It also reminds me of Y in its concept (not the scent itself) as an afternoon perfume, sweet but fresh and airy, quite versatile and with a seductive touch. And just like Y, its development is quite linear, remaining practically the same from the first spray to the dry down; the only noticeable change being that the more aromatic tone, with lavender, gives a little space to the grapes and the vinous aspect of Malbec Noir. However, this evolution is very minimal compared to other perfumes, making it really more linear, something I also associate with the predominant presence of synthetic notes. It's worth noting that these synthetic notes are not a drawback and that in Malbec Noir, they form a very cohesive, interesting, and original whole, making it one of the most pleasant, easy-to-like, and easily identifiable scents in Brazilian perfumery. I don't understand the reviews on Fragrantica that categorize it as a night and winter perfume; that role belongs to Club Intenso or Absoluto, with their warm, spicy, and closed fragrances, with musk (or other animalic notes) being very present (musk, although listed in Noir, is imperceptible to my nose). Noir goes very well in the daylight if you want something more sensual, different from the typical aromatic-citrus-aquatic profile, like the prevalent options among current fresh perfumes.

I want to add to my more detailed review below. It seems to me that much of the impressions of this perfume are influenced by its name and dark presentation. This is a much fresher perfume than "dark." The pineapple is quite noticeable, as well as other citrus and fruity notes. The lavender is also very present. This is an extremely versatile perfume, which indeed reminds me a lot of Nuit d'Issey, but with the removal of the leather and reduction of incense found in Issey, it gains a more encompassing, lighter, and less serious air. In my perception, it is very similar in this aspect to Y EDP with its fresh versatility, but much bolder and more complex than something like Invictus, for example.

Is not dark enough to be called Noir. Is actually fresher, brighter. Reminds me a lot of Malbec Duo Nebbiolo, only dryer (while Duo is fruitier). Very fresh and aromatic. Lavender is a key note, along the sweet grape and wine notes and the citrus part. Will have to wear a little bit more to write a proper review, but i can already say that is very versatile. If you liked Duo Nebbiolo but wants a stronger scent, and think that Malbec is to sweet, Noir is a very nice choice.

Heavy, and I must say very disturbing. Few scents made me wanting to get rid of it quickly, but this sticks and the task is not easy. Others may like it, of course. But for me that's impossible! I own or owned Malbec, Malbec Gran Reserva 2004, Barolo, Duo/Nebiolo, Absoluto and Supremo, and this one is by far the worst. Too bad I didn't win the prize I was running for when I bought it.

Malbec Noir copies the DNA of Nuit D'Issey but without the incense note and with a clear emphasis on the lavender. I cannot detect grapes, or wine. Don't be misled by the tons of notes that are listed here. This fragrance is way simpler that many fragrances that only list three notes. Overall a boring, linear fragrance.

Right away I consider Malbec Noir a super ball inside the Apothecary! Finally succeeded after several frustrating, independent releases of the genre, launch to market a fragrance that mean something more to their predestined public, men, and meet the requirement of it lately only has expanded due to the easier contact front the other much more structured fragrances and why not prepared olfactively?! The partnership between Napoleon Bastos and Dominique Ropion has been a positive differential in the House The Apothecary, is proof that perfumes launched arising out of such partnership successes are shot and fall to the taste of the masses with ease. Malbec Noir opens much like the "patriarch" of Malbec line with the same citrus footprint involving lemon, bergamot and fresh orange, only this one gives to realize just off a fruity background, and the notoriety of a sour pineapple permeated by notes water and sun. Following, the fragrance takes on the body notes that much I wanted to feel, the one chord of Unique Noir® that the Apothecary screams pros all over the world who brought this unique fragrance and it alone has locked up the seven keys! You see, a lot to strive and to sensitize the real purpose of the fragrance, the Pinot grape Noir being refined in oak centenary wooden barrels and exhaling an odor of highly fine genuine wine, the note does not refer to the smell of the fruit itself, but the product and the sum of its way to completion. The Coriander here almost brings "everything" to lose their scent reminiscent of the sweat, but Lavender does not give the air of grace with a manly background along in a measured spiciness saving the dry down the line "perfumão" that Malbec Noir makes. In the base, the fragrance unfolds a woody mediated spices that warm and also adocicam its aromatic way, it is quite evident the presence of Tonka, the living roots with earthy smell of Patchouli, the footprint of a Vetiver mild and to sensualizar completion of 12 h, many tons of Musk and Sandalwood on rustic woods by background and an alcoholic cacetada of Pinot Noir grapes have matured and ready for consumption. The perfume does not take one 10, but it is worthy of note that ascends you to a higher average to many that large only has the name of the Maison, because the concept behind the olfactory pyramids, are mere fanfare moved through hype.

I really wonder if a woman who loves spicy and woodsy fragrance could pull this off. For reference, I love Coco Chanel (not no. 5, not Mademoiselle), and also love Soir de Lune by Sisley. The latter feels masculine bit not in a conventional way, but much more like vintage women's fragrances leaned masculine to modern standards. Any help I can get for masculine fragrances from Natura ou O Boticário that follow this trend will be extremely appreciated. If I get extremely satisfied with the suggestion, I might get you a flask if you DM me, but please don't take advantage of my offer, I have cancer and perfumes are a great joy for me.

Fresh and fruity, as many others have mentioned already. I don't know why people want to wear this in the fall/winter? Easily wearable all year round and office-safe as well.

I expected a much darker fragrance tbh. It's actually light and fresh lol but it's great
