this is soooooo aromatic and interesting????? its warm tonka and amber sweet plus that bergamot and green green! theres some fruit moment in there. drydown is so interesting with the coriander!!! its fresh and spicy, has that clove and basil!!!!!! this was yummy in a savory way? def thought provoking

I've recently become interested in Brazilian fragrances. I blind-bought this one. I like it. Portinari reminds me a bit of JPG Le Male. In fact, it shares a lot of the same elements: bergamot, caraway, lavender, tanka bean, vanilla, amber, sandalwood. Le Male, however, is a much heavier fragrance and of course has elements not in Portinari. Portinari, with the vanilla and wood, also reminds me a bit of YSL Opium Pour Homme--but beyond that they are very different. I'm not a big fan of vanilla/wood in fragrances. I think the combination has been overused. But, fortunately, lavender saves the day here. It is not overpowering--and in fact I wish it were stronger--but it does linger for some time as a heart note and I like that. But overall, the final dry-down, once all the other notes disappear, is a little underwhelming. Sillage and projection are fairly weak. But to me that is okay with this one because it's not easy to over spray. There is a lightness to it. A refined sense. For those who look for a usefull review between the medley created here: It's a very well blended, inoffensive, easy to wear fragrance. The newer formulation (new bottle different from the picture) has a performance close to average, 7 hours longevity on body, more than 8 hours on clothes, kinda 2 hours of average projection close to the body on me. The blend vanilla/cloves/lavender is very well balanced here It smells surprisingly smoothy non synthetic and brings me a cozy feeling and use to be pleasant for people around. It is NOT a fresh fragrance as it drives to a soft woody oriental spice that has a tendency to the seductive warmth side and can be better between 18-29 degrees Celsius. It's also a very distinct fragrance, don't be confused by the mix of comments below. Someone said it is givenchi pi copy what has not even any resemblance (yes I have both of them) the only shared accord is the vanilla what does not make them close scents as Pi goes to a totally lactonic side but Portinari does not. Other comment says Xeryus Rouge and another says Versace Blue Jeans but there is nothing so accurate here. For me the closest fragrance to compare would be Kenzo Jungle Homme, but I'm talking about slightly resemblance only nothing too close. Women would be able to wear Portinari as well due to its soften, don't take me wrong it is on the male side of the force but could suit well for those girls who like this kind of fragrance.

Portinari is an aromatic, slightly green, and a little sweet everyday fragrance that conceptually reminds me of Boss Bottled EDT—just with less sweetness and complexity. It’s a nice aromatic-green scent for everyday wear, work, and sports. Portinari doesn’t reinvent the wheel and brings to mind familiar Hugo Boss fragrances: it’s slightly sweet, slightly green, and becomes sweeter over time (vanilla). Unfortunately, the sillage drops off dramatically about an hour after spraying. It simply reminds me of Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette, but with noticeably weaker sillage and longevity—especially considering that Boss Bottled itself isn’t exactly known for great sillage and longevity either. Overall, I like the fragrance and could easily recommend it—if it weren’t for the performance. The scent comes across as a bit synthetic, yet it still retains that “playboy” character of Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette that I enjoy. Sadly, the longevity and sillage don’t do it any favors, which is why I’d ultimately reach for Hugo Boss instead. Still, it’s a pleasant fragrance from O Boticário. The scent itself is a solid 8—sillage is subtle, and longevity is short (lightly noticeable for 1 to max. 2 hours).

I believe this to be the best offering from O Boticário. The most elegant and well-balanced. It merges the Brazilian tradition of fresh/green woody fragrances with some heavier, sweeter accents, to an extent that I don't find Portinari to be a good day scent (works better at night). The notes piramid shown here is accurate. First citrus, then the wood/geranium combo, trademark of the classic scents from this house. Here, it's always tending to the sweet side: amber and vanilla. Amber here is subtle, as it should be. Not a strong punch like in O Boticário's Coffee Man or Zara's Ambar. For situational purposes, Portinari reminds me of Lancôme Miracle Homme and Givenchy pour Homme.
