The Blend Bourbon

The Blend Bourbon of O Boticário For a long time I collect perfumes, mostly imported, but I decided to stop by O Boticário and look (smelling rs) the latest releases and enjoy to buy the gift of Father's Day, a malbec (perfume that my father is passionate and wears for years). So, I tried the malbecs, I really liked Black and even got one, but it is for another time to talk about him and the two Blends. The traditional didn't get my attention so much but when I put my nose in the Bourbon ... a delicious surprise! At first I felt that spicy spice vibe present in spicebomb (perfume I love) and decided to acquire. The next stage of my perfuming ritual, the evolution and performance test, was put into practice. I applied about 6 bourbon sprays, two at the neck, two at the arm folds and two at the clothes, this around 6:30 am. I fulfilled my work by always feeling the present perfume and exhaling, a little less after about two hours but still projecting. I finished my office at 16:00 pm still feeling the scent on my body. I came home and asking my mother if she could smell it on me and she promptly answered yes! Angry! A beautiful performance. As for its evolution, it opens with a spicebomb-like vibe and this resemblance lasts for about an hour, getting a little less spicy and a little sweeter woody in the base notes, then came my biggest surprise, I knew I had already smelled that scent somewhere ... amouage reflection! The deep notes of this magnificent fragrance brought me the vibe of this perfume that I also love! I believe the Bourbon sandalwood and vanilla in the background were responsible, as the sandalwood is also very present in the reflection's base notes along with the jasmine that gives a slightly vanilla look. Not getting into the product pricing discussion, which generates endless discussions, The Blend Bourbon has sent me to excellent perfumes, including niche, still maintaining its own identity, with excellent raw materials and amazing quality. I can only congratulate O Boticario for this excellent release!

The Blend Bourbon Eau de Parfum was also launched in 2019, along with the acclaimed The Blend Eau de Parfum. Its name, as well as its creative concept, reaffirms the use of the “Blend 4 Epice” accord, which is the result of the distillation of four warm and fresh spices – Clove, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, and Nutmeg – in a copper still (referring to the origins of perfumery), inside the O Boticário factory. However, contrary to what many people think, the fragrance does not have the Bourbon (whiskey) note, as a variation of the rum note used in the other fragrance. The name Bourbon comes from the use of the bourbon vanilla note, as Madagascar vanilla is also known. In a comparative picture, some ingredients migrated to the lower parts of the olfactory pyramid, as was the case with lavender, sandalwood, and vetiver. The DNA is maintained, but the accords are changed vertically, increasing the perception of depth and durability. On the skin, The Blend Bourbon is spicy from the beginning. The aroma of liqueur cinnamon (from The Blend) goes away, and a spicy and delicious nutmeg enters. The sweetness is balanced and appetizing. The fragrance is more mysterious, right from the start. Lavender is also much more present in this fragrance, reminding me of the evolution of the beautiful Le Male (Jean Paul Gaultier). Then, the wood and pepper begin to exude incessantly, and the vetiver gives it a more earthy effect, which I also don't feel in The Blend EDP fragrance. The Blend Bourbon has more personality and tricks than The Blend, it evolves much more and still conveys more elegance. Everything is more complex and pleasurable here! I can even understand the comparisons with Spicebomb (Viktor & Rolf), but this fragrance is creamier, and everything was done to enhance, over time, the quality of the vanilla. Beautiful scent!

I just released a review of this beauty on my Youtube: "Rotten Rebel". The blend bourbon opens up with a juicy and well-done spicy blend of Bergamot and Grapefruit.. I love the opening with it's spicy and citrusy blend and I love how it transforms into this spicy blend with lavender and something sweet in the base... The dry down adds a dose of woody notes together with that sweet base and to me it's the perfect combo of something sexy and something elegant! Like I mention in my review: this feels like the "perfect blend" of Spicebomb from Viktor & Rolf and Initio's Rehab... But with it's own unique identity. I REALLY enjoy The Blend Bourbon and I think it's something that people who enjoy spicebomb or rehab will enjoy. But everyone's noses are different so yeah.. That's just my take on it. Love this perfume!

Simplesmente uma obra prima da perfumaria nacional, no meu top 3 melhores perfumes nacionais e não enxergo defeitos nesse perfume, tem tudo o que mais me agrada. Uma abertura picante, a pimenta é bem presente e as especiarias já chegam logo em seguida trazendo muita riqueza pra essa obra prima. Tudo realmente prepara um caminho muito sofisticado para uma baunilha sensacional que junto com as madeiras e o âmbar constroem uma fragrância muito única, quente, sensual e convidativa. Perfeito para um encontro num clima frio e ameno, muito agradável e não me canso desse perfume. Pra mim um incrível 10/10 Obs: É sim um perfume doce, a baunilha é bem cremosa e junto das demais notas o perfume admite uma construção um tanto melada, e, pode acabar sendo enjoativa sim

Ganhei o meu the blend bourbon recentemente, estou usando e já tenho uma opinião formada, que perfumasso, ele abre fresco alavandado, e logo em seguida a baunilha bourbon, creme brulee e a pimenta rosa entram em cena, nas notas de saída o âmbar e o sândalo dão a essência do perfume, uma obra prima nacional, pra mim o melhor da Boticário, está no meu top 1 agora, foi bem difícil encontrar, minha esposa conseguiu com uma revendedora que é amiga dela, mas foi bem difícil achar, infelizmente estão dizendo que ele vai sair de linha, adquiram logo pra quem deseja esse perfume, pois a cada vez vai ser mais difícil ter na coleção.

É um perfume incrível sem palavras, não sou nenhum especialista em perfumes por isso vou dizer como qualquer um falaria sobre um perfume. O the blend bourbon é simplesmente um oriental abaunilhado perfeito para dias bem frios de inverno ou para um jantar ou evento social a noite. em questão de fixação e projeção não tenho o que falar, simplesmente fixa e projeta na minha pele durante um bom tempo o que faz qualquer um que sentir o cheiro vai te elogiar. se você procura um perfume não tão doce, quente e reconfortante para o inverno pode ir sem medo no the blend bourbon.

It smells very fresh and woody, but rounded out with the sweet and warm gourmand-ish notes. I would definitely say that this is a great option for those who like woody fragrances but want something a little more sweet and a tad fresh. This is an AMAZING hidden gem. edit: Why do companies always discontinue my favorite fragrances? ... :(

É a minha assinatura! Gosto muito de abertura picante, mas a baunilha é realmente divina. Perfume envolvente e muito sensual. Não é nada versátil, de dia ele não dura muito, mas a noite é quando deve realmente ser usado. Em mim fixa 10 horas fácil, porém é bem intimista.

the best fragrance in the gourmand woody range. Less astringent and more upscale than SpiceBomb Extreme. So sophisticated and refined, in fact, that when you see that four noses have taken on the task, it's only to be expected.

O Boticário Blend Bourbon is a very sweet, cinnamon-vanilla winter fragrance with a distinctly noticeable creme brulee note. The name isn’t a reference to bourbon whiskey, but rather to Bourbon vanilla, which is sweeter and has a slightly fruity nuance—overall a very nice accord. What stands out most right from the start is the creme brulee-note, which, to be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of. Despite the winter-fragrance concept, it makes the scent feel too heavy and too thick. Even a winter scent built around cinnamon, amber, nutmeg, and vanilla still needs a bit of “lightness” — see Althaïr by PDM with orange blossom. I’d actually go as far as saying the creme brulee note is bothering me in an otherwise very nice winter fragrance. After a while, the fairly strong creme brulee accord settles down and the Bourbon vanilla comes through, togehter with a rather subtle amber. I also really appreciate that O Boticário has commissioned some of the best perfumers for a large portion of their EDP releases. With Coffee Man Duo, Malbec Magnetic, Malbec X, Zaad Santal, and several others, O Boticário is—at least in Europe (apart from Portugal)—one of the most underrated beauty and fragrance houses out there. For an O Boticário fragrance, the sillage is quite solid for an EDP, and the longevity is very good as well. The scent remains noticeable for many hours with strong projection comparable to designer fragrances - maybe stronger. Aside from the creme brulee note—which feels a bit too thick to me and can become sharp if you overspray—this is an excellent fragrance that can be worn perfectly throughout the entire winter: during the day, but best of all in the evening. Without a doubt unisex-possible. With a very slight masculine lean, it can still be worn 100% by women as well.

I swear I am making a lot of effort to distinguish this scent from Spicebomb. No success.

So good when people who are passionate about sweet nuances manage to find something that dialogues directly with spicy notes, ditto. That tingling feeling doesn't exist here, but the gourmand characteristic is so real and instigating that it doesn't make you want to stop smelling! 1. On my skin, I prefer this one with a touch of Vanilla, the The Blend Eau de Parfum version, this is justified when in stores, the output of this perfume has been the same as selling ice water on hot sunny days. In me, it was citrusy and with already spicy nuances, with enveloping spicy touches; sublime! 2. In the heart it really shines. There is a fusion of noble flowers, patisserie reminiscent of the streets of Paris after 5:00 PM, spicy woods, and more a ventilated air that join Vanilla (protagonist of the time) in all its forms: liquid, in bean, in flower, in sap, in root [...] This all combined, it's a heaven on earth; for me, a daydream because it is an alchemy that I admire so much and I rarely manage to come across it around! 3. Vanilla still dominating everything still in its base, the fragrance becomes more serious, perhaps due to the presence of more intense woods, a certain resinous air that balances the prominent sweetness here, and more humid Sandalwood that gives it a sensuality in the measure and reveals itself with every movement performed. I'm happy that it stays on my skin for more than 10 hours in a notorious way, that's sensational. O Boticário got it right here!

É o meu perfume nacional favorito, sem dúvidas. Essa é uma fragrância que bate de frente (e até é superior) em muitos perfumes designers super caros por aí. Um perfume doce mas não enjoativo, forte mas não exagerado, bem especiado e quente, ideal para noites e ocasiões especiais! O perfume é absurdamente bem construído, aqui todas as notas se conversam. O equilíbrio e a maturidade que as notas de madeira dão em contraste com a baunilha e as demais notas doces realmente faz do perfume algo realmente muito diferenciado e bem feito. É um perfume de fácil agradabilidade, porém, por conta das notas mais fortes e chamativas, é interessante experimentar antes de comprar. Para mim, a fixação foi ótima, facilmente 9h+. A projeção também foi excelente, umas 2h30. Perfume incrível, um acerto em cheio da perfumaria nacional.

I can't rate this yet. The opening has that weird sweet thing going on, like other O Boticario frags. Afterwards there's an impression of cinnamon and cloves in combination with a hellish plastic scent. I have no clue where that powerful plastic note comes from. The thing is, while it smells weird plasticky up close, the sillage smells fucking beautiful. A strong powdery, woody, sweet and slightly spicy smell, almost reminding me of Chanel's Egoiste. You just have to be AWAY from where you sprayed it and nobody should try to smell you up close. Further research is required, e.g. only spraying this under clothes, in order to find a place where I will only get hit by the sillage.
