The Blend Cardamom

For the original "The Blend", O Boticário distilled a combination of 4 warm and fresh spices in copper stills: cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper, and clove. They went through 1961 iterations until they were satisfied with it. The resulting blend is the heart of that fragrance, it gives the fragrance its name, and the copper stills give the bottle its color. The Blend Cardamom, has that same "5th element" blend (as the brand calls it) at its heart, but uses a very high quality, very green type of cardamom, to give it a very distinct character, it has nothing of that typical sweetness that people associate with the note. The fragrance feels very green, woody, and this time, there are even some aromatic nuances to it. It is a gorgeous, absolutely masculine fragrance, it feels at the same time classy, and versatile. You can use it dressed up for a more formal occasion, or rock it while shopping for groceries. It can be worn all year round, in any weather. Performance is very good, it is very non-linear though, very explosive. Meaning it will project heavily for about 2 to 3 hours, and all of a sudden go from blasting off of your skin, to becoming almost a skin scent for the remainder of the day. Some fragrances' projections will usually dial down more gradually, starting as soon as you spray them on, but I honestly prefer the behavior on this one, you can really smell the fragrance radiating from your skin for a very good amount of time. I don't know how hard it is for people in other parts of the world to get their hands on this brazilian gem, but it is definitely worth the effort (assuming it's hard). Amazing scent.

É definitivamente um perfume para homens com personalidade. É o cheiro de entrar numa floresta tropical virgem. O cardamomo na saída é forte, mas ao longo da secagem ele perde um pouco de evidência para se tornar um complemento delicioso de todos os acordes. Após algumas horas, eu diria que o patchouli se torna a nota mais evidente, com um charme de pimenta preta para quem cheira rente a pele. Tem uma performance incrível. Na minha pele dura por mais de 10 horas, com uma projeção de 2 a 3 horas tranquilamente. Não é um perfume jovial, é um perfume de homens maduros, de personalidade e bom gosto. Os acordes frescos e terrosos dão a essa fragrância uma versatilidade de ambientes muito grande. Pode ser usado facilmente para trabalho em escritório num tempo frio, como para encontros e ocasiões especiais. O uso no calor é um ultraje ao olfato alheio. Para mim é o melhor da linha, e se tornará permanente em meu guarda roupa.

Estou usando hoje pela primeira vez, num clima frio de outono aqui na Irlanda. To achando maravilhoso. Fixa bem e tem ótima projeção. To sentido bem o cheiro e já fazem mais de 3 horas que borrifei. Ah e o que mais amei foi que achei o cheiro muito parecido com o do Barolo que era também do Boticário e foi descontinuado há uns 15 anos atrás. Eu amava aquele perfume. Sentia muita falta. Agora achei um bem semelhante. Vou comprar novamente com certeza!

Fixa e projeta muito. No trabalho (escritório) foi muito elogiado.

Cardamom with cardamom. If it were a bit more balanced, with lavender in the opening and wood in the base, it would be exactly what I imagined La Nuit de L'Homme by YSL to be. However, it is sweet and unidirectional in its cardamom from beginning to end. It's a rather unusual scent among Boticário's other offerings, more sharp and prominent, showcasing this "authorial" cardamom that can easily either enchant or cloy.

I'll preface this by saying it's not an unpleasant smell, not by any means. However... it's extremely generic. There is a fresh, green and slightly spicy cardamom note in the opening, but this quickly disappears and the smell of blue shower gel takes over. There might be a hint of incense and woods too. All in all, smells very similar to something like Bleu de Chanel with some incense and woods. Also, performance is extremely weak - like, almost non existent. You have to spray this 100 times in order to get any sort of performance. Honestly a very underwhelming scent in terms of both smell and performance.

Esse aqui é uma obra prima da perfumaria nacional. Por algum motivo me lembrou o le male le parfum logo quando senti (provavelmente por causa da note de cardamomo) , mas depois de um tempo fica cada vez mais verde e sofisticado . 4,5/5

A lot of the O Boticário fragrances look really interesting, but does anyone know if there is anywhere they can be obtained in the UK?

Amo esse perfume!!! Usei quando estava em Porto Seguro, Brasil. A noite usava para sair com a família, momentos inesquecíveis.
