Zaad Santal

In a few words what it smells like: its warm, comfort. For me, the bourbon whiskey scent is dominant, i really really like it.

Zaad Santal is an elegant, mature whisky fragrance that works especially well for the evening. Contrary to what the name suggests, it has little to nothing in common with the original Zaad. When you first spray it, Zaad Santal can smell a bit medicinal—almost like a bitter cough syrup—but that fades within seconds as a whisky accord takes over. The scent feels very refined and grown-up, which makes it an interesting choice for nights out, yet it can also be worn in the office without any issues. In the background I think I can pick up some spices, but the rum accord clearly overshadows them. A few minutes after spraying, the whisky accord moves more into the background, becomes calmer, and the pleasant sandalwood starts to come through. If you know Santal 33, imagine something in that direction—just with a lot more whisky. This isn’t a must-have. But if you’re into whisky scents with sandalwood, you’ll enjoy this one. Strangely, it reminds me of the bar in the opening scene of the film Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart. It would also fit perfectly with a vintage clothing style from the 1950s and 1960s. Zaad Santal is simply an elegant whisky-sandalwood fragrance—fine for the office, better for the evening and special occasions. By far the most interesting and exciting fragrance I’ve ever tested from O Boticário. At first I made the mistake of testing it on a paper strip. This fragrance NEEDS to be on skin, because sandalwood reacts beautifully to warmth. A good tip: give it time to unfold and definitely spray and test it on skin—not on a test strip.

Very pleasant, warm, spicy, woody, cold weather fragrance. In Europe you can order this from the Portuguese website. Woody, mostly sandalwood. All the other notes can be detected with ease, they are all fantastic. Highly recommended near niche quality. Selling for a fantastic price. UPDATE on May 23, 2022: An incredible value. After testing many Sandalwood fragrances, both niche and designer, this would be in my top 3 out of all tested. This is a sleeper here in Europe, and deserves much more love, in fact tremendous love. Unreal that it does not get more attention. Do yourself a favor if you like Sandalwood fragrances.

If Santal 33 smells like dill/pickles to you, so will this. It's mostly dill to me. If you love Santal 33, this will be an enjoyable alternative for you.

Perfume sensacional, ótimo para usar no verão também. Porém é muito amadeirado, muito forte mesmo 2 borrifadas está mais que ótimo.
