Zaad Vision

Just got me a bottle of this one right now. How this smells when compared to M7? Well, the answer will be different depending on the formulation of the original considered for comparison. I have a 2011 bottle of the reformulated YSL juice, and can tell that the O Boticario's copy can stand to it, regarding smell and quality. However, both reformulated M7 and Zaad Vision will fall down when faced to the vintage juice, of which I own only a 10ml split. It's marvelous syrupy/medicinal opening was something one of a kind. Overall, this excellent M7 revival-clone is a little bit more syrupy than the reform M7, making you wonder if it's a "semi-vintage" juice. On the drydown, it gets more ambery, but its not as sweet and syrupy as the vintage, keeping an ambery-frankinsenced background (myhrr, maybe). The oud "illusion" may well come from the combination of woods (cashmere/guaiac), though YSL's oud was said to be synthetic (even being very convincing). It provides that woody Gucci Pour Homme I vibe wich can be found on the reformulated M7, but as I said, the opening is more sweet, almost (i said *almost*) entering the vintage territory. Worth buying, as I can now save my last 40ml of the original juice for special occasions. Overall: 8/10 (7,5 plus an extra 0,5 for good cost effectiveness) ===================== EDIT (2016-20-08) : this thing doesn't last! YOU: "Okay, but that's a copy! What would you expect?" ME: "Well, you get a point!" BTW, removing 0.5 for cost... should be sold at around 20 USD, not 60 ;/ Now, 7,5 out of 10.

Starts identical to M7 top notes, made me smile in contentment because I love dark woods. Then a few minutes pass for it to mellow down to a powdery amber/patchouli that only resembles oud because synthetic labdanum and woodsy notes are present. After a couple of hours it will only bring you a sweet powdered musky accord. Sillage and longevity are good. No "nitio kualitat" here, don't fall for that. But a nice fragrance for all year round, indeed! 7.0/10.0

It's probably the best purchase I made in a long time. Is it close to M7? Yes. Is it better than M7? No, it's just AS good as the original legend and probably better than any following reformulation. Longevity is insane (Easily 12 hours on my skin) and projection is bordering on beast mode. If you miss M7 it's a very safe blind buy. I bet you won't be disappointed, I obviously was not.

Well, i don't know M7 so i can't compare to that like the others, so i'll tell my impressions. I like it very much, since i first smelled it in its release. Is woody and resinous, warm and slightly smoky (actually what draw me toward this one was that smokiness i sensed, that reminded me a lot of Versace Man). Together with the warm, resinous smoky woods, i sense a soft creaminess, that smells like... cream. Like a woody fragrance applied over a heavy sunblock lotion (it actually reminds me of sunblock lotion). Fixates a lot, projects very well either. For those of you who can afford international fragrances without blinking may be a ordinary scent, but for our Brazilian catalog, is a very nice edition. A cold-weather fragrance, but could be used (with parsimony) in warmer nights. Not safe for gifts.

Let me talk a bit here about this great "watershed" of the moment that goes by the name of Zaad Vision and was released by the Brazilian perfumery house Miguel Krigsner, the Apothecary, and comes in Eau de Parfum concentration. The time progresses and the dry down dawns, something bitter is manifested, but at the same time also have something green and deeply aromatic, recalling the thyme branches in days of scorching sun with that green odor Soft Skin with a little foot in Fougere. I pulled one leather tone, with bits of string, which was more developed here, certainly the fragrance would have niche-level quality in its aromatic structure, but this level there is drained faster than the passage of Halley's Comet, unfortunately. Finally, Zaad Vision becomes a amadeiradozão spicy medium sweet, I would consider a bit too resinous. I feel a smell of trees with resins and incense burning slowly, you know, one heated fresh wax smell and even hot. The fragrance at the end of the end is balmy, far away, tamed by a sense of clean clothes, something comfortable that not very consistent with the initial proposal of it, silky, soft amber colored and affectionate. Contradictory that, right?! Well, swapping kids: As the Apothecary could take the proposal for a fragrance that has in its initial proposal, features an "indomitable lion" and turn it into a lamb goofball full of stains and pechoso ?!
