Amber Aura

First review here after years (a decade??) of being a lurker. I accidentally put this on thinking it was Ukiyo, since my sample box from Oakcha had come with the bottles not corresponding to the labels on the box for each “slot.” So, I was surprised at this one when I smelled it on my skin, but only partially because I was expecting another perfume—it came off warm and almost smoky, accompanied by a little sweetness. Intriguing! If I try to I can pick out the jasmine, but overall everything feels blended together in a cohesive way. I’m really unsure whether I love it or I just like it, but that said, I have been reading online that many people advise letting the perfume macerate after exposing it to air by trying it, and trying again after a couple weeks (maybe repeat). So I’m going to see if it will change in a couple weeks.

This has come at a perfect time of year for me. It’s a spicy, smoky amber but there’s a surprisingly citrusy floral side to it. Feels perfectly unisex - if you like it, wear it. It’s a very intriguing scent - I can’t wait to wear it on colder nights!

A nice affordable ambery fragrance. Not overly sweet. My bottle seemed to get stronger after sitting for a while. This one feels a bit heavy,. meaning it's too much for spring or summer. Definitely a fall or winter scent. Smells unisex to me.

Smells like a man in a wool flannel. Was a 10/10 topping scent sprayed around a wood bathroom (kept clean, not like febreeze or anything). Totally not for me. Sometimes I use it as a bottom layer to get a rose-y amber base. Otherwise, boring. Good quality ingredients from oakcha.

Smells "nice" enough, but not really my style. I purchased the Oakcha signature sample set mostly because the Ukiyo and Cosmic Fusion both sounded interesting to me, and here I am, trying them all out after several months. This one to me is very powdery on my skin. It reminds me of a random talcom powder that my mom kept in the bathroom, mostly because the packaging went with the decor scheme (90's, y'know?), not necessarily for actual use. The packaging was pink with roses on it, but it smelled like just generic floral soap-iness, not really like rose. I don't at all get any spice from this or much warmth for that matter, on my skin anyways. Meh.
