Love in Rome

Wearing this one today. I want Valentino donna born in Roma, but for now i have this. It is good, very very similar to my sample of the og. Some say it’s different but i can’t pick up on it. Either way when i get my bottle of BIR i can wear both for layering or to compare and contrast. I can’t believe some influencers say this is basic or unimpressive or has a bathroom cleaner vibe The bergamot is a virtue freshness in the opening balanced with the sweetness of the black current but the pink pepper probably amps up that citrus which is that “fresh and clean” that you get but it passes within minutes and then you get the sweetness of the black current meshing with the sweetness of the jasmine and it just becomes so pretty, and soon in comes that vanilla too that makes it dry down to such a sweet floral pretty berry but clean delight! This can be worn day or night, heat or cold. Maybe don’t over spray in the heat so the sweetness doesn’t become too much but they freshness remains a little bit throughout but it is by no means an air freshener or bathroom cleaner vibe. Cmon! This is nice! If you can’t pay for the real thing this dupe is pretty great!!!

I've never smelled the original Born in Roma perfume, however, I have had another dupe of it. The Britney Spears Electric Fantasy was supposed to be a dupe of it. I loved it, it smelled amazing! However, it was so weak and only had the power of a body spray, so I ended up giving it away. Oakcha's is definitely similar, however it is more creamy than Britney's version. It definitely lasts a lot longer too! Sweet and zingy. This scent gives you energy and makes you want to get up and go!

honestly not sure why so many people say it isn't similar at all to BIR, because i definitely smell the resemblance. i had this on one wrist and the og BIR on the other, and they were almost imperceptible, but i guess everyone's noses work differently. love this scent, it's very bright and girly.

This perfume smells heavenly! Like berries and flowers in the springtime. It definitely gives fancy glamorous fun-loving woman vibes. One of my absolute favorite perfumes & a good price. Just wish it lasted a bit longer and was a tad bit stronger.

very sweet, clean smelling! Flirty, creamy and fun. I wish it lasted a little longer, as it does initially smell really good! I find it doesn’t last tok long which is disappointing. Pairs really well with a vanilla perfume I find!

Love in Rome is definitely a great alternative to Born in Roma. To my nose, it is like 90% percent a dupe. It’s not as sweet as BIR, but it does have the pink pepper note I love about the authentic BIR.

Count me as a vote that says, “This is definitely a dupe for Valentino’s Born in Roma.” I’m surprised that some reviews say it isn’t. To me, they are very clearly sisters! I absolutely LOVE the black currant and jasmine notes in this perfume. To me, this definitely falls firmly in the floral category. The bottle is a great value, but the downside for me is the overall staying power of this one. I get just about 4 hours before it’s completely gone. I prefer my scents to at least be 6+ hours. Overall, I think if you want something that smells like Valentino’s BIR, but on a budget, give this one a try. I’m probably going to spring for the real thing though to get more longevity.

Imo it’s powder sugar candy! The florals are light and definitely lean young as compared to some florals leaning grandma powder smelling! the bergamot is sweeter than citrus sharp. I like the pink bottle as it definitely smells “pink” to me. i get compliments when i wear it out and it hasn’t stained my clothes. Other Oakcha perfumes have aged orange and stained my clothes unfortunately :/

My girlfriend wears this occasionally. I like the smell but can be overpowering in a small room after being sprayed. Sticks around for a long time but if I were to summarize the smell I would say it smells like the concentration of a pink and white flower patch? It smells a tad synthetic and highschooler for me to be totally in love with it but a solid scent nonetheless.

I really wish I could smell the black current a little more. But I have to say that is the same way I feel about the original. I do like this MORE than the original though it still smells similar. But please SPRAY GENTLY. Very strong. Only needs a light spray or two. Oakcha so far hasn’t failed me on a smell-a-like.

On the dry it has a burned candle wick smell which I love. It feels very basic and linear and the sweetness gives me a headache, but it is very addictive at the same time. FWIW I have tried Born in Roma and I feel this is quite different.

I’m really disappointed by this. On my skin it’s completely disappeared in less than 30 minutes.

I received Love in Rome as a surprise from Oakcha, and I wanted to compare it to the original Valentino Donna Born in Roma. To be honest, it is not even close. Valentino Donna Born in Roma: smoky, woody, complex, and elegant — perfect for dates, night outings, or special occasions. Love in Rome: brighter, sweeter, and much softer — easy to wear anytime, anywhere. I want to emphasize: this fragrance is nothing like the original, despite the “inspired by” label. If you’re expecting the depth, woodiness, and sophistication of Valentino, you will be disappointed. The two share a general sweetness, but that’s about it. To my nose, I’d say it’s only 40% similar, at best. If you’re looking for a casual, lighter fragrance, Love in Rome works fine — but don’t buy it thinking it’s a dupe or even close to Valentino Donna Born in Roma. It’s a completely different personality, and it should be appreciated for what it is, not what it claims to be. Bottom line: Not a substitute for the original. Buyer beware.

Bought 1 bottle and loved it so much, I bought another bottle. Second bottle was completely different and only ordered a month after I got the first. So disappointing! Now I don’t trust Oakcha to order more, and now duties to get into Canada double the price!!

Both this and Born in Roma suffer from having a lot of quit in them, by that I mean 0 longevity. Doesn't matter how nice a perfume is if you can't smell it after an hour. And still... where is the tea?

smells very different to the original imo. i have praise the perfume by oakcha too and they honestly smell so similar to me

My favourite Oakcha scent so far and I’ve tried 6. Floral, sweet, creamy, powdery perfection. Lasts 6+ hours!
