Ocean of Gold

Ocean of Gold is my favorite thing this week. I can't figure out if it's so clean that it's dirty or so dirty that it's clean. Either way, it's lovely and unique. The first 20 minutes are challenging. The top musks are a a blast of something -- almost like a laundry detergent smell -- but thankfully they don't last. It settles into a powdery, soft spicy smolder that lasts for hours. I've been wearing it obsessively for the last three days. I smell more saffron, clove, and cardamom than rose. I don't think it smells like Oud Ispahan; if I had to compare it to something else, I would pick Tobacco Vanille (but not really too much). And -- this might be blasphemous to say -- I like it better than Oud Ispahan AND Tobacco Vanille. Maybe because this July desert heat is turning everything up to eleven. Maybe the heat is melting my brain. Maybe both. But I like this better. I do. Very strong, leans slightly masculine. Full-bottle worthy. Romantic and NSFW

Gorgeous embrace of warm spices, the sweetness of the rose lifted by rich cardamom. Lasts all day on me and my clothes, radiant but not offensive projection. I fell in love while wearing this perfume for the first time, and it'll be a lifelong source of delight - that gilded warmth despite a brutal winter. I'm on my third bottle.

Great longevity and sillage. Perfect alternative to expensive niche woody, amber fragrances. Reminds me of MFK Oud Satin Mood

really, really potent and long lasting. it’s a parfum, so after spraying it i can feel the stickiness on my neck. at first i doubted it, but then i decided that it’s completely unisex. it is just very clove-forward on my skin, i wish i could get more of the base notes but those the oud overpowers. there is a very, very subtle hint of sweetness but personally i can’t smell them apart, they rather make a very masterful and seamless blend of the said oud and these spices. it turned very seductive on my boyfriend’s skin though, after 6 hours the intimate base was there. definetely a night time and a winter perfume. or possibly a ceo’s dayware office perfume but no more than 1 spray. you get the point, definetely a dominant personality’s gem. nonetheless, if i smelled this on someone and they told me it’s an expensive niche, i would believe them. can’t wait to test how it behaves in winter.
