Sorcery

This was my delightful surprise and I took a risk with this one. Smells like nothing on the market and it is honestly really good. I don’t even know how to describe it-blueberry, toffee, ozone, Lycra? It’s strange because I believe it can be pulled off in every season except Fall. There’s a blueberry note in this, I swear! I read through every review before I bought it. If you want a fresh gourmand (like how is that even possible) this is it.

Bought a full bottle, never smelled anything like this. It's salty and smooth with a sweet rose that doesn't even register as rose. The drydown loses the salt and turns into a warm but professional fragrance that is technically floral but not like any floral you have tried. Love it!

For me, the patchouli, ozone, and salt notes hit heavy right away, backed up by a softer sweet amber rose. I don't get any hints of fruit, just very green, slightly floral, and so very unique. Really glad I picked this up, it's beautiful.

Something about the initial scent of this perfume reminds me of grapes and cotton candy. I’ve been wearing it for almost 10 hours now and can still faintly smell it. The notes have mellowed out to be more of a salty vanilla scent.

My nose doesn't know what to do with this. I really like the rose, but I don't understand the other notes. I try to think "ozonic" and "salt" but I keep getting "essence of someone who's a smoker." Is there a note that I need to reframe in my mind? I really want to like this, but... the smoker smell. Edit: When I say smoker, I don't mean this smells smoky. I think the praline/ozone/rose combo is creating something similar to the dried fruit smell that unburned tobacco can have. My scent memory is playing tricks with it.

I like this; it's not something I've encountered before. The ozonic/salty notes hit first and are refreshing. The sweet rose starts to rise up after the first 15 minutes or so; that is very nice. The dry-down is solid with patchouli and amber. For me, this would be a great scent if you're going to be in the sun and/or around water. The projection is moderate, and longevity is good.

A wonderful fresh GREEN rose. Some good saltiness and in the background there is something almost like a melon liqour. Hard to describe. Very fresh. Very unique.

Best way to describe this perfume would lychee and dark forest berries with a pink floral note and heavy musk. It's luscious and sensual. Widely likeable. It reminds me of Royal Mystery by Swiss Arabian, but I like this one more. I think it would also appeal to Parfums de Marly Delina lovers. Please note however that after some time, the perfume starts turning too sweet and doesn't smell as good. It's best to use it right away after purchasing. My score is based on the final product after the scent has matured. Smell: 6 out of 10 Strength: 9 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

Cloying sweet with sour note, like pickle juice over something super sweet. A scrub off the skin worthy. In a "cosmic fusion" dna profile. That i find absolutely repulsive. Edit. I finally found use for Sorcery and Delina, 2 perfumes that I am not a fan of. I combine Delina and Sorcery it's smells more tolerable for me. For Delina Sorcery adds that pickely sharp scent that is much needed to break up it's suffocating powdery musky rose heaviness and for Sorcery Delina makes it a little bit more round around the edges.

Phlur Rose Whip is almost a 1:1 dupe of Sorcery to my nose. And yes I said that correctly- Sorcery was released a year before Rose Whip so good for you Oakcha that this was good enough to dupe! I am not a fan at all of rose/ patchouli dna so this one wasn't for me. But on test I immediately went wow this is rose whip! If you like that dna then you will love this fragrance for a third of the price of Phlur, plus Oakcha is an extrait (much stronger) and has a pressurized atomizer.

In the opening the ozonic notes and salt notes (plus patchouli) combine to end up smelling a little bit bitter and quite plastic-y, but I find this fades within 20 minutes. If I feel I can’t wait for that aspect of it to calm down then I am a big fan of combining it with either SJP‘s Lovely or Nirvana Rose. I prefer layering it with Lovely because it creates a truly unique and balanced combo, whereas when I layer it with Nirvana Rose, it just becomes Nirvana Rose plus. It’s pretty nice on its own once the top notes calm down. It’s a very salty and ethereal patchouli-rose, the rose here being a particularly fruity and tart Turkish rose, plus the praline sweetness and very subtle nuttiness. This one is bright and uplifting due to the saltiness/ozone and the tartness, but it also feels somewhat gothic with the amber-patchouli sweet earthiness. The praline and vanilla make it particularly feminine and give it more mass appeal. I would not think to put salt/ozone with amber and patchouli, but it works. Overall very unique (although perhaps not since Chocodog13 mentioned it’s been copied by Phlur), this one is a strong like, not a love or must have. You definitely have to like both salt and fruity roses, and tolerate patchouli, for this to be a safe blind by. The vibe is rose water loving boho-chic witch is eating candied pecans at the beach. She definitely does yoga and will seduce your man. Or maybe more like an Angelyne bubble bath queen type of sorceress, hot pink and sparkles, drives a sports car. She’s salty.... AND she’s very very sweet, quirky and lovable. Xoxo 💋 😘

Sorcery on me smells like sugar, blueberry maybe?, jasmine, salt, vanilla, a hint of cigarette and patchouli. There is something synthetic that I actually don't hate; it goes well with the dirtiness of the cigarette-ish note. The inspiration for this fragrance has been lost for me as I get no rose at all, and I'm not sure how it translates to being in a rose garden. It makes me feel like I should be out in a club somewhere.

Bought this when it was cold out and thought this will work better in warmer weather! I was right! I didn’t even realize it has rose, I get it after knowing but it’s not in your face, more rose water fresh. Almost melon rind?
