I am obsessed with this! It's exactly on point as a dupe and the price is sooo worth it. I love it!!

I have not tried the real BR540, so this review is purely based on Sweven by Oakcha. On the opening, I get the saffron scent (like a sweet herbal scent), and as it dries down, I start to get the sweet floral-type scent. I can kind of tell it's jasmine, but it's more of a general sweet white floral scent. The ambroxan scent is detectable from the very beginning - I think this is what some people identify as a medicinal/anesthesia-type smell because I can definitely see what it would come across that way. To me, it more smells like a warm amber scent, and when I sniff it deeply, it kind of tingles/burns my nose (which I kind of like 😆). There is also a woodiness in the background, although I couldn't specifically identify it as cedarwood. This lasts a fairly long time (~6-7 hours), and I get decent sillage. I guess there are a lot of remakes of this scent profile, but I think this is a good option if you're a fan of the BR540 profile. I am not a huge fan of perfume oils (like all the Oakchas are), so I probably will look for another dupe.

My fiance initially sprayed it in the box since they were testing about 5 other frags- and they texted me "it smells like brand new tires" I got home and smelled the box- yup. So I sprayed it on my skin and there it was, what I was looking for- the burnt sugar smell. TBF, I've never smelled BR540 but what every dupe seems to have in common is that. I'm not an experienced fragrance reviewer yet, but what I can say is that the saffron comes out very strong. The opening bears a strong similarity to Qaed Al Fursan (Black bottle) without the pineapple. I'm not getting very much floral here, because after the saffron all I can smell is sweet and woody. The scent bubble doesn't seem to be all that strong, which isn't what I'm used to from Oakcha. But the longevity on clothing is pretty good. On skin, it lasted about 4 hours. I'll probably update this review after I get my hands on a decant of BR540, when I have a better point of reference.

Really like the smell. I haven’t smelled 540 before, so I’m not sure how close it is to that. Although it’s an Amber-woody scent, something about it reminds me of fresh, open air. Possibly more of a forest air scent, which I guess would make sense with the woodiness. Regardless, while the scent itself lasts a decent amount of time, the projection is just not there. I tried applying it right after I showered and I could hardly smell it on myself without bringing my wrist up to my nose. I honestly enjoy scents that don’t fill the room, but this is just too weak in terms of projection. So yeah, TL;DR is its very nice, unisex scent, but doesn’t project hardly at all for me.

This scent profile has been done to death now. This is weaker than the original BR540, softer and more balanced than Ana Abiyedh Rouge, much nicer/less sweet than Cloud, quieter than the Fragrance World rip-off Barakkat Rouge, and isn’t as bombastic as Club de Nuit Untold. These dupes all miss the magnetic magic of the original. A faint imitation. It’s almost faded on me after 30 mins. It’s nice but it’s not worth buying for me personally.

i personally can't speak to whether it's a dupe for baccarat rouge b/c ive never tried it, but to me its extremely salty/metallic/bleach smelling but sweetened just right. a little funky for sure! i wore this to many latin conventions in high school and surprisingly got many compliments - but that mightve just been the target audience. pairs well with a menthol cig and a heartier full-bodied cologne underneath to layer

Smells like BR540 but heavier. For the price of the original I would say go with this one, I smell it on me throughout the day but I have not gotten any compliments. So not sure if it projects, I also own the perfume oil version from their sister company Oil Perfumery. Those are cheaper and for the hefty price of Oakcha you might as well go with the perfume oil in my opinion.

What can you say about Oakcha they nail it almost every time of you know what you like I love b540 this s a good close to.. I got the oil which isn't the same as their sprays perfume because I wanted a purse daily wear w sophistication .. absolutely will be buying the spray it gives the elegance it's supposed to and timelessness for a daily wear that lasts

I've never smelled the original, but I'm obsessed with this. I feel like it sits really well at the intersection of its scent profiles: it's sweet but not too sweet, not too floral, and not too woody. I really enjoy the top notes with the maximum effect of the floral--something about it just makes you want to keep smelling it.

I treasure this! It doesn't really smell like much of anything, you kinda feel it more than you smell it if that makes any sense? I enjoy it for layering and for when I am not super close up with other people who don't really "get" this kind of fragrance. FWIW, I am reviewing the oil format.

Almost a 1:1 clone of BR540 Extrait, with the same metallic, chemical, medical office vibe that's revolting yet enticing at the same time.

This review was originally written on 1/15/24 when this was newer to the market, but not posted here since Oakcha wasn’t yet on fragrantica. so I can’t speak to the formula potentially changing since then if that’s a factor: I got a sample of Sweven in the discovery kit from Oakcha, as it's their most sold/popular fragrance dupe on the site. I wanted to see what all of the hype was about, because when I see influencers losing their mind over a fragrance (both the OG and the dupe), I always assume it will be highly overpriced and overrated. In this case, it feel it def is. Where as I have sampled a total of 8 fragrance dupes from Oakcha, and have also sampled some of the same OG perfumes, I CAN say that Oakcha expertly knows how to craft fragrances in general, as well as even make some of the originals smell BETTER. If there were ONE downfall with Oakcha, that I've noticed, it's how sillage after the base notes kick in, either depletes, or dries down either powdery or sticky smelling, as opposed to leaving the more common luxurious woody base notes on your skin. I Think their scents are best used layered on a clean body, after a neutral or similar scent profile body butter is applied after a shower, and kept from becoming to warm, esp with sweet notes, as they will become sticky and cloying in warm weather or a hot body. This is the same with all parfums in my opinion. but maybe just a little moreso with some dupes. And also focusing more on spraying it on your clothes. And just a 2026 edit: I had bought a few scents and ended up reselling the dupes for tobacco vanille and born in roman because the samples smelled better than the full size. They so die down cheap. BR540 dupe/Oakcha Sweven Review: So immediately upon spraying, I was blown away because I have smelled this BEFORE..not in BR, but in another fragrance..one I've owned! After the more unfamiliar, immediate earthy and bitter saffron and spicy green marigold started to die down-the candied and carmelized, nutty and boozy ambroxan scent comes in and overtakes your senses..it hit me. In (I believe) 2012, I owned a perfume from Victoria's Secret that I received sooo many compliments on. Men were drooling over it and saying I smelled "edible" and "sinful" and women would ask about it every time I wore it to work. I never thought it went super well with my body chemistry, I thought it was too strong and sweet and berryish, and the syrupy praline was overkill..it def didn't have my fave scent notes in it, as I'm a fresh and aquatic girl. But low and behold, the Oakcha BR540 dupe was easy to recognize as almost identical to *VS Sugared Lilac* in the Ltd. edition "Candied Florals" collection of 3 scents that came out during the holidays. Although the lilac wasn't super noticeable, there was slight floral undertone that smelled more like Jasmine ( yes, like BR) and the main note was "Praline" which smells just like caramelized almonds(yes, just like the syrupy sweet almond notes in BR). I didn't love that there's something overly warm and sweet in almost every layer, and same for this dupe. The ambergris-esque, ambroxan and musk also make an appearance in VS Sugared Lilac base. Sugared Lilac is very heavy on a purple/red fruit scent, like ripe black sugarplum or blackberry liqueur as mid note, which might've be the ambroxan lending to the gourmand aspect. But I also smell that same note here. What I will say for the BR dupe compared to VS, is that the VS fruity scent smelled cheaper and more synthetic. But I can still tell that both lean synthetic, as an ambrox will, and I don't prefer that in perfumes. According to MFK this whole original scent is synthetic, which is a show of skill as a perfumer. But i'm sorry, just because you sculpt mashed potatoes to look like a cake, it doesn't mean it will taste like cake. Sure, it will still taste good.. Mashed potatoes are good. But they will never be the cake, which is what I want. Hope that food analogy makes sense lol. Wrapping it up, the only difference between the discontinued VS SL and the Oakcha BR540 dupe are: better quality ingredients in the dupe, and added woody notes that give it more depth and better smelling dry down. It's richer and more robust since I'm comparing an EDP to a VS EDT, also the addition of saffron to the top note in the BR540 dupe, adds complexity and luxury and grounding to the syrupiness, and finally..the base note of whatever wood is used, adds staying power, and mellows out what is overtly sweet the whole way through. Will I buy it? no. Is it a good dupe?..Even though I've never tried the OG, I would say it probably is since anything with a pound of ambroxan dumped in, tends to smell similar and ppl like that it smells edible. If you like being the center of attention and want to smell like a more expensive VS hoe, this is the fragrance for you! haha. The Oakcha BR540 "Sweven" sample I received, may not be a means to purchase a full bottle, BUT the sample may just be something I want to keep in my arsenal for when I'm feeling powerful and seductive and want to get my saying in a reminiscent to VS sugared lilac 2012 kind of way haha.

Strong focus on the floral elements of BR540; that's what this perfume smells like. This doesn't smell like BR540. I smelled about 10 different dupes for BR540 and this is least-like what it claims to smell like. It misses the magic element of Baccarat Rouge 540: that sweet caramelized sugar scent on top of the floral elements. It has a way too prominent sweet orange/floral smell to it. That "burnt sugar" smell just ends up smelling very latex-like and not sweet enough. Oh also, OAKCHA delete or don't post negative reviews of their products, even if it is from verified customers. That's so dishonest and it makes me never want to purchase from them again, even though I liked Oil Perfumery (their sister company).

I see what a lot of ppl have been saying on this forum about being anosmic. I used this today and I couldn't smell anything. Nothing. I waited a few hours and I could gradually but very faintly pick up the saffron note,but then it disappears. The same with Bath & Body Works Seeing Rouge. I layered the two.... nothing. Sprayed it on a piece of paper and it immediately filled the room with a beautiful scent, but on my body, nada. I took a wash up and used an oil on my body so that the scent could adhere to my skin....nada. Guess I'm gonna have to let it macerate for a year or so and then come back to it. Oh well 🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽 Maybe I'll have better luck with Untold...

I bought this in a first batch and it WAS PERFECT. There was that addictive sweet note that BR had, but only after it mascerated, at first it smelled like cat piss. I fell in love with BR with my first purchase. On my second purchases, I bought sweven and the dupe for the extrait BR540. They both STANK like batteries. ALL I could smell was the metallic note, nothing else. It stank. No sweetness, no glimpse of floral note, nothing! It was horrible. I ended up buying the real BR540 extrait after that experience, and completely cutting oakcha off after they were my constant supplier for dupes.

I've never tried Baccarat Rouge, but I have smelled some dupes, and this is a bit different. It’s much less sweet and almost powdery. I definitely get the marigold and saffron, and a bit of fir as it settles. I get a hint of orange but only within the first 10 minutes. It has moderate sillage and lasts about 4 hours. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ✔️ Ariana's Cloud Intense: similar but much sharper ❌✔️ Ariana's Cloud Pink: much fruitier for the first 10 minutes, then similar as it fades

This fragrance opens with an intense alcohol smell that throws me off. It lasts forever on my skin, which is unfortunate because I don't care for the scent. I think it's the fir bothering me, but I don't have a well-trained nose yet so it's hard to say.

I used to enjoy this when I first purchased it - similar smell to BR540. I have tried it a year later and it absolutely smells like burnt tires. It macerated very poorly. I have thrown it out!

I'm having the same issue now as a lot of people have commented. When I first got it, I LOVED it. It was sweet and pretty. It's been 6 months since purchase and it now has a predominantly plastic/new tire smell to it. Almost all the sweetness is lost and it's overall very faint and weak now. I would not recommend buying this one due to how quickly it went bad. I did not have that issue with the two others I bought from Oakcha. Edit- I read a review of someone saying the smelled medical and I couldn't put my finger on it but now I'm realizing this smells exactly like a dentist office!!!!
