Vanilla Gelato

I love this perfume! It doesn’t smell like vanilla gelato, but it is a creamy, airy, slightly powdery vanilla dominant floral. A “cold” vanilla, if you will (maybe that’s where the name came from?). I don’t really detect any mandarin, and only a little bit of brown sugar. The florals are present but in the background; I think they’re really only there keep it from going full edible gourmand. As someone who loves vanilla but hates being told they smell like baked goods, this is what I’ve been looking for. And yes, it is a pretty accurate dupe for SDJ 59, but I don’t like body mists, I want something that will last (which is about 6 hours, btw.) Projection is about arms length, but easily more if you’re an oversprayer. This is THE versatile vanilla for me.

This is a vanilla for the non-gourmand girlies. Airy, cold, a little powdery. The coconut milk and brown sugar take it in an ice cream direction but the floral notes keep it from going all the way. I think it’s the opposite of trends right now, gooey, warm, edible vanillas. It’s perfect for me but may not be what everyone is looking for. I revisited my sample because ham?? Actually yeah, the opening gives ham lmfaooo. On my skin that disappears in about five minutes and settles into a brown sugary dry vanilla. FBW for me, and I normally couldn’t care less about a vanilla perfume.

This is literally Sol De Janerio Cheirosa 59! Never smelt such a dead ringer, it's literally insane how spot on it is. Has good projection, and gives you all the sweet, breezy vanilla violet goodness you could want! Plus she's CHEAP!!! However, I don't think it smells like vanilla gelato at all. So if that's what you're looking for, ignore the title!

Oh holy clouds of pillowy spun sugar goodness! This is so delightfully sweet and soft and pretty and enveloping. This is truly a gem.

DOUSED myself in this as soon as I got to smell it. Incredibly delicious scent!

The initial spray of this is pretty powdery, white-floral, and clean. But the dry down turns into a cozy, yummy, sweet, cashmere and coconut milky scent. This not overly sweet. I get more like a veryyyy faint hint of a vanilla wafer cookie more than Gelato. I wouldn't consider this gourmand or super creamy either. It's more of a soft, light, and sweet scent. I would still recommend this very much tho!

Powdery and airy vanilla. Doesn’t bear a lot of resemblance to vanilla ice cream, but I feel the same about SdJ 59. It acts strangely on me - strong first blast, then disappears, then comes back quietly. It’s a gentle, soft and sweet vanilla. Not one I’d rush to buy, but I’m enjoying my sample.

this smells very similar to cheirosa 59 from sdj. sweet and ambery, though a little more floral than i expected. nonetheless, a nice perfume, especially for the price.

Smells just like SDJ 59--very clean, refreshing vanilla. I like layering it with Vanilla Romance by BBW to bring out the woodsy, powdery notes of both fragrances :)

SDJ Cheirosa 59 meets Donna Karan Cashmere mist. Smells astringent like and not at all reminiscent of vanilla OR a gelato. Wtf was Oakcha thinking here..? 🥸

A super sweet brown sugar scent, but the creamy white flowers are a bit too sharp for my liking and it takes away from the vanilla gelato concept. I don’t get any coconut milk but I get hints of red mandarin, amber, and sandalwood. Has minimal sillage and lasts about 7 hours on me. Saw that this was compared to SDJ Cheirosa ‘59 but I disagree. Cheirosa ‘59 is much creamier and the florals aren’t nearly as sharp and overpowering.

a light floral. i’m getting that violet overall, very sweet but not in an overpowering/headache way. a little bit of coconut milk as it settles. very feminine. i literally do not get vanilla at all here so im a little sad about that.

So... I’m kinda let down sadly, it smells clean girl in a way. That’s all I get from this is the florals and the sandalwood. I’m so so sad about this maybe I can layer it with a different perfume? I feel bad I don’t know if I should return it or not? All I’ll say is I’m upset when they name sent after Cakes or ice creams and drinks and it smells NOTHING like it. It makes me feel lied to sadly . I will be making a TikTok just because I feel like ppl say it smells like vanilla ice cream for views and because they get paid. In no way am I hating on those people get your book but I am not gonna let my girly/gay/and fellow theys fall for a blind by when they wanna smell like an ice cream or a cake or just vanilla coconut cream.

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Oakcha perfumes for months! But being in the bottom of the world - New Zealand - is a bit expensive to get them. Wore it today at work - only did a couple of dabs with a sample ampoule and it’s so strong and headache inducing I just can’t concentrate at work. I guess this is a no for me, and for everything vanilla with Oakcha.

I was disappointed in this one. I thought for sure I would buy this because I love vanilla, but when I tried it in the sample kit, it was just so subtle and forgettable. I don't know what I was expecting, I guess I was expecting it to be bold and delicious but it is just too subtle for me. I want my scents to make a statement when I wear them. Nectar swirl is by far the winner in this collection!

Sprayed it a couple times in the past and always thought that it smelled like a certain body wash I used to buy, pleasant! Not something I would reach for but that’s okay. I just sprayed it again to use up my sample and tell me why it smells exactly like ham. A Christmas ham. I am so disturbed
