Un Musc

I would have purchased a full bottle but for the fact that, within minutes, Un Musc disappears from my skin and even clothing. It’s the most gorgeous fragrance, but I do expect even a skin scent to hang around for longer than it does. It should be called Un Musc disparaît. Again, whilst I acknowledge that the sillage is meant to be discrete, and there are days I want a close sitting fragrance, where I can still enjoy it, without sharing with those around me. I take issue with Un Musc’s longevity, which is so poor that even when worn on a warm day, on well moisturised skin, and on my shirt, it simply vanishes. I’ve worn it in different temperature, on rainy, dry, windy and calm days. In Musc just doesn’t perform. I don’t think that anosmia is the problem for me with Un Musc. I own JHAG’s Not a Perfume shower gel and fragrance, and have no problem with the longevity or light sillage with it nor with Molecule 01, which both last longer and are still discernible to me on my skin. Neither are as lovely as Un Musc, hence my willingness to have bought this if only it had better performance. I hope that the team at Obvious do something to increase the longevity of Un Musc, because it is beautiful. I also admire their ethos of using recycled products in the packaging, which can then be recycled again by the consumer. I also appreciate their attempt to use natural ingredients where possible, but they need to focus a little more on the quality of the actual fragrance at this point.

Upon first spray I don’t like it but on my skin I’m obsessed. I’m pretty into musky/skin scents but I have a hard time finding ones that work on me. I’ve been searching for something that gives me the same feeling as Musc 25, and although they are completely different in their notes, this gave me a similar feeling on me. I like how unisex it is and I like that it’s sort of peppery. I don’t get soapy or clean at all, seems more warm and spicy skin. Maybe it’s the ginger (I always seem to gravitate towards scents w a ginger note). Anyways, a versatile warm skin scent for $66 is hard for me to say no to. This will definitely be a staple in my rotation and I’ve been layering it w a bunch of other scents.

This is an amazing unisex clean sexy musk. I sampled a few other “minimal” musk fragrances (Juliette has a Gun Musc Invisible, Mad et Len Red Musc) and this was by far my favorite. It’s not too powdery, as the other review said, and it’s just slightly soapy to me—but not enough for that to be the dominant effect. The vetiver shines through to me, though everything is very balanced. I could see anyone wearing this as an effortlessly sexy everyday scent, even if it’s on the minimal side. It definitely has subtle sillage, but it’s the kind of thing you could spray on your clothes and go about your day without worrying about offending anyone. I bought the full bottle and I know I’ll wear it lots.

Love it! I’m so into musk recently and this is a wonderful simple musk scent. It doesn’t really work as a fragrance because to be honest, it is a transparent skin scent but surprisingly last a very long time on my skin, about 8-9 hours. Although it’s skin scent, I keep getting whiffs occasionally for the whole 9 hours duration especially when the wind blows. It’s the same type of scent as the Molecule 1 & 2 but more detectable at least to my nose. I love to use it when I walk my dog or run errands on the warmer days. I also love layering it with other fragrances when I want to add musk to them.

My first impression was solidly “this is ok.” My husband said, “this is ok.” But every time I catch a sniff of it on me, I’m happy. It’s warm, it’s a little woody, I’m cozy & clean & relaxed. UPDATE: I gave Un Musc another chance, and OH MY GOODNESS, I am entranced. I love the slight citrusy-freshness in the opening, and its clean musky aura is just heavenly throughout. A love. (my husband still thinks it's just ok, haha)

This is became my immediate new favorite musk-skin-scent. It's one of my favorite categories of scents and this one is just done right! It reminds me a bit of what others say about Another 13, but I am completely blind to that scent. This is a clean, musk, with hints of citrus and a light, light soap-y quality without being powdery or too soapy. Love!

I've had this one in my collection for about 1.5 years. To my nose now, it is an almost honeyed and sweet gingery musk. It is not really aligned with my taste anymore as it skews pretty warm. Comparable to: L'Eau Papier by Diptyque, but Papier is far more interesting as far as skin scents go.

This one is kind of addictive because it's so light and difficult to pin down. The ginger feels like the prevailing note, but it's definitely more complex than it lets on. Almost no longevity at all and definitely a skin scent, but a good one at that!

absolutely stunning musk scent. i thought 4.1 by PG was it, but then i came across this. now this and 4.1 are two of my go to when i want to hook up and wanna boost my body-scent.

Of the 3 similar musks I’ve tried recently, the other 2 being l’eau papier and musc k, I like this one the best. The lasting power is the worst out of all of them, though. I thought it smelled just like l’eau papier when I first tried it. Now I’m wearing one on each arm and they’re pretty different, but definitely versions of the same thing. I like that this one’s not as powdery and maybe a little more unisex, though I think they’re both pretty feminine. I like vetiver fragrances so that makes me like this one more. It’s a clean smell that lasts longer on clothes than it does skin. Probably would be a nice subtle everyday fragrance for someone slightly more feminine than me.

Nothing super exciting, I remember enjoying this far more before, than I do now. Simple clean, synthetic gingery-citrus musk. It is pleasant, and something I'd probably reach for on those kind of days where I just want something simple, and cozy. I wouldn't pay retail for this, but if you can secure a bottle for like 40-60 bucks I'd scoop it up if you're a clean musk lover. My rating: 6/10

I love this scent, it’s very easy to wear and it lasts awhile on me. It becomes a very simple clean skin scent. Slightly soapy in a good way. I don’t know if it’s the way it blends with my chemistry but I’ve received a few compliments while wearing this. I’m surprised by the negative reviews, my nose loves this scent! Could easily wear this everyday.

The smell of Un Musc reminds a brand new book and smells very close to Paper by Commodity but with a warmer and slightly sweeter facet. For me it is smooth and creamy woods with sweet musks wrapped around something that feels ambery and warm in its heart. Not complex, very pleasing and easy going skin scent.

A bergamot musky fragrance. This perfume can be a signature scent. Versatile, unisex, clean, timeless, easy to wear. The main problem: the sillage (skin scent). For musk lovers, for sure! --> For minimalist / skin scent lovers. Vibe: a white T-shirt!

The scent of skin. It has the same vibe as Diptyque’s Le Papier. A comforting, warm musk.

A powdery musk made interesting with the addition of a (relatively speaking) strong bergamot note. Smells like all the comfort of a cup of Earl grey... Provided I keep my nose hovering an inch above the point of application. There's intimacy and then there's privacy- as others have said, un Musc is painfully close, which is a shame because it's otherwise beautiful. I could cut to the chase and apply it to my upper lip- otherwise it's a no go.

Opening is a burst of bergamot with a backup ginger note, then the musk enters the stage in the dry down. This stays close through the short time it was present, and within an hour it’s a skin scent. Beside the short life, I’m indifferent to the scent, neither loving or hating it—which seems to be the Obvious theme with me and this niche line.

This honestly smells like nothing to me. If I press my nose right up against my skin, I get a hint of a generic clean citrus/musk smell, but that’s about it. You could spray cleaning products on yourself and get more of a scent. Underwhelming.

I don't get any ginger or bergamot. It's pure musk - pleasant but basic. White t-shirt, lounge at home, run errands type of fragrance. Disappears after 30 minutes.

I have come to realize that I do NOT like Ginger in my fragrances. I love eating ginger, but I don't like smelling it in perfumes. This is a funky musk to me. On my skin, it starts off soft, then slowly gets harder and sharper with the ginger smell. It starts to resemble cleaning product to me, and I can barely detect the musk or any qualities of musk perfumes that I usually love. It is better on clothes where it smells a bit citrusy and fresh. Would not be buying this.

A unique sorta-plastic, vegetal, baked-good kinda thing going on here... From the moment it went on I was quite sure I'd not ever wear this again or seek it out, but I'm curious as to what it is I am actually smelling! It's intriguing, I must say!

Not a fan of this one at all. The musks are very synthetic smelling. Smells like it could easily be one of the Molecule fragrances.

Not a musk fan so not surprised it doesn't agree with me. Aside from that it's way too soft and wallflower-y.

This is exactly what I look for in a “skin scent”.it’s a true warm, clean musk. It has a pleasant warmth that makes it smell like warm skin, and while it is a clean musk, it isn’t soapy at all. With a scent like this, I don’t want huge projection or sillage, but I always want longevity; this could do better there. It only lasts half a work day, so 4-5 hours tops. I could smell like this forever and be happy. It has some similar qualities with Skin Musk (used to be by Bonnie Bell)....not the same but the same *type* of musk. Huge love for me.

Haruka Tenou energy, chilly sporty musk. Willowy sapphic athletics. Crisp androgynous elegance in fluttering white tennis shorts. Ginger brightness competing against vetiver earthiness, canceling each other out, whittling down to dank earthworm glow. A weakened Sailor Uranus attack - Minor Phosphorescent Subterranean Flicker! or Weakened Subsoil Incandescence Rustle! or something like that! Muted radiance, cool, composed, understated power...or not even power exactly. Powered up, but on a dimmer switch.

I got a sample and at first I really did not like this... but I’m trying it again now and on me it is just straight musk. Which I kinda enjoy now so go figure. Pretty linear but I imagine this would be great paired with other similar scents. I also only sprayed two spritzes on my forearm and I keep getting nice whiffs so I’d say this is a nice stronger musk so a little goes a long way. I’m gonna experiment pairing combos and hopefully update my review again soon.

I like this a lot more than I thought I would, and it might just have to go on my buy list. It's simple. Close to the skin, clean. As a gourmand lover I almost feel like I need this as a palette cleanser in my arsenal. I own and worship musc 25 from le labo and have heard a lot of comparisons to l’eau papie which I have yet to sniff. Ultimately I think this is a safe blind buy if you love musc. Great packaging, appropriately priced.

I really like the musk in this. I love ambrette, but this one is different from other ambrette perfumes I've experienced like Ellis Brooklyn Myth. It's more paper-like and less powdery/fluffy/heavy, maybe from Helvetolide. It's more musk than bergamot, but I do smell the bergamot and I kind of wish it wasn't there so that it can be more papery. It reminds me a little of Infusion d Iris, but with more citrus.

Although I am not a great friend of musk perfumes, this one is a really nice unisex, fresh musk. I didn't expect it, (given the fact that my skin seems to swallow every perfume and I rarely get compliments)but I actually get a lot of compliments for this one. On me it projects really well. Good lasting power on skin. It stayed for almost 12 hours in my clothes

This is a synthetic, clean, soft/creamy yet slightly woody year round scent. The combination of bergamot, galbanum and vetiver gives this a masculine green vibe, but warmed by the ginger. The white musk sweetens the dry down and takes this into more unisex territory. It has low sillage and invokes imagery of pastel colours.

i felt the galbanum was a bit strong, and I didn't get much musk. To me, the initial spray smelled like a straw basket, or like a pantry with lots of paper bags and some dry ingredients. I'm sad I didn't get to smell the dry down or have a proper wear test, but that's what I got on initial spray on paper.

this fragrance is like a meek people pleaser who is neutral on everything and says stuff like don’t worry about me im easy! just a neutered squeaky clean effervescence to wear when you just want to smell nice and REALLY make sure you’re not offending anyone with your fragrance because god forbid...

The ginger makes it a warm musk! Its an addictive and makes you smell like Lady grantham from downtown Abby
