Un Oud

I truly do not understand the low ratings on this one. I love it. It's clean, polished, modern, completely genderless, and it has this almost minty freshness. It may not have the loudest projection, but so what? It smells incredible. I cannot stop smelling my skin when I have this on. I also have to say that it vaguely reminds me of B-683 and Ganymede. Beautiful. Totally fine for any season in my opinion, since it has that light, invigorating freshness to it. But this minty freshness does evolve into a vanillic, warm skin scent.

I don't understand the low rating. This smells delicious like toasted caramel in a fresh, tingy aroma. I love it! It reminds me of Al haramain Amber Oud Ruby and Baccarat Rouge, even Cheeky Smile... But cheaper than these last two...

The opening is beautiful and reminds me a lot of Vaadhoo by Memo and Hermes' Bel Ami, but fresher than both of them. This line of fragrances is natural and contains no harmful preservatives such as BHT which is also a plus. The fragrance does change after about 20 minutes in it becomes more woody and warm, slightly like Baccarat Rouge, which I am less excited about. The drydown reminds me most of the smell of tanned skin together with an after-sun lotion I used to recieve at a tanning place in Amsterdam called Sunday's 20 years ago (what was I thinking... my poor skin. It was a way of trying to fight the harsh Dutch weather). I enjoy this smell, but it is more of a smell suitable for a cream than a fragrance.

For oud lovers without any doubt. A bold fragrance with oud of course but also leather and spices. More masculine, and for cold days (winter). Very good longevity and sillage, you need to like potent scent.

If you're someone who likes blue masculine fragrances but wants to try to something more woody, this would be a good pick. If you're someone who normally wears clean feminine fragrances, but wants to try something more unisex and woody, this may also be a good fit. As someone who usually likes strong-ish leathers, strong-ish ouds, animalic notes, and more resinous (or at least more rounded) woods: this is nice, but it's just nice. It's a little too clean to rightfully call itself an oud I think. It has an oud note present, but a clean, dry, synthetic wood accord predominates over it (Iso E Super notably doing a lot of heavy lifting) with the pink pepper very faintly in the background. A light soapiness also suffuses the scent. The leather note is softly present tucked between the woods, but with nothing animalic or "new car" about it. Altogether it is a very inoffensive scent, very office-safe for an oud, and I detect nothing particularly headache-y about it personally. It is possibly a little sneeze-y, but that could just be my allergies acting up. If I smelt this on someone I'd think it was quite pleasant, but it's not for me. Edit: It gets a little scratchy smelling and generally less pleasant on the dry down. I scrubbed it, but it could still be a nice fragrance on different skin chemistry.

I can't decide if I like Un Oud or if it is just ok. There is a distinct smokiness that reminds me of burning sage and a spicy leather-type note. The opening is a little sweet with the citrus and pick pepper balancing the smoke, but the dry down is mostly BBQ on my skin. I love the opening, but the dry down is not really my thing. The sillage is pretty wimpy and I was hoping that maybe it would leave a nice trail, but I really need to put my nose in it to smell it. I do feel a little edgy when I wear this. It would go nicely with a camp fire and weed, so I could see myself wearing this once in a while, but I wouldn't reach for it on a regular basis.

I’ve read some reviews here - some ludicrous comparisons to BR540 even - however I can only identify with the most negative here. This is Oud light. It’s a vinegared Oud - watered down if you like - minus the syrupy thick oud you usually find. It’s not complicated at all with enormous sillage and longevity however I think the best way to describe it is quite unsophisticated - this maybe ideal for some bit for me it’s not a particularly appropriate scent to wear - it feels more like an ambroxan or a base perfume like JHAG This is Not a Perfume. This is just watered down oud and cedar with other notes inconsequential. Pass.

overwhelming saffron to me, and to me saffron smells like burnt used iodine soaked hospital bandages. same as br540. i can't. after an hour or so, occasionally the vetiver peaks through, and yeah, the vibe of it is very similar to chanel sycamore elegant vetiver. then it begins to smell like cheap bad amber perfume middle notes. and continues to smell like that for 24 hours +. so longevity is quite formidable. totally unwearable for skin chemistry and olfactory types like me.

A weird interpretation of the oud accord, but it kinda works if you don't care too much about being very accurate about it. I think overall the balance is a little off and saffron and cardamom poke out the most. The saffron in particular feels like an attempt at creating the slightly rubbery, medicinal quality some ouds have, but there's a real lack of anything earthy and complex here. Besides that, it's generally a clean, powdered cedar with a sparkle of pepper, elemi, and bergamot that create a line of zingy freshness through the body. Papyrus lends more fluffy, paper-like texture and a vegetal quality, and I get the sense that this is supposed to be relaxing, spa-like, and just a tad bit smoky, like you entered a room where someone just put out an incense stick. I actually get associations to guaiacwood, or iris+cedar combos that I keep finding myself with, particularly Loewe 001 with an added saffron note. It's a little too bitter-sour and mostly powdered wood in the end, but it may work for some who don't traditionally like oud and prefer something cleaner.

This was one of the lightest oud's I've tried. I found it to be clean and fresh. Nice scent profile. Projection at the top. Dries down quickly to a skin scent and fades. Put on your tan short leather moto jacket. snaps not studs. over a cozy white winter sweater and jump in your car for a top down ride as the fall weather puts a chill in the air on an other wise sunny glorious day. Price is right...why not!?

The sample made me understood that I kind of like oud fragrance ? A surprise for me actually but this is not bad however I’m not sure I want to wear it or invest in a full bottle Got it from the sample kit : 10 samples 19€ + un été gifted, really nice trial kit and actually a good learning tool to pinpoint specific smell

this is a lovely, fairly straightforward cardamom-forward oud. as a self-professed pink pepper princess i was always going to love this. on its own it's fine but it's also nice to pair with the obvious rose.
