Un Patchouli

honestly the low rating makes no sense. it might be one of the best patchoulis in the market right now. it starts with a humidos / cigar box patchouli that is extremely refined, and quickly the tonka bean makes it smoother, really modern, and extremely pleasing. this is not your classic vintage patchouli, it's actually a lot more interesting although it's marketed as a solinote. all year-round perfume, badass as fuck, Amélie Bourgeois nailed it. EDIT: to dissipate the tonka bean and reveal the humidor smell, the bottle needs to macerate a little!

I agree with the review below that the rating is suspiciously low. This is a beautiful, robust patchouli scent with a slightly medicinal opening (not ghastly at all) before sweetening and smoothing out. This is my first from the brand and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of ingredients and bold, crafty blending. The composition has layers and texture, and the performance is great. Edited to add: I am not one who cares about compliments, but this one did garner multiple compliments from random people while I wore it today.

This is the best Patchouli I've ever smelled. OMG ... The opening, the strong Patchouli mid-note , and the incredible , amazing balsamic Patchouli drydown... Maybe , but just maybe ... The longevity could be a little better, but for the price, you can definitely afford to overspray and enjoy. If you're a Patchouli lover as I am , this is just a must buy. You will not regret it. ( I love Montale Patchouli leaves too ... But this is even more magic . ) Hope they'll make an extract de perfume as well.

What a beautiful take on patchouli. I love the soft, nutty quality of the tonka, it almost smells a bit like almond. As it fades it reminds me of sitting in a grassy field in the evening in summer, it has an agrestic vibe.

An easy to wear patchouli sweetened up with tonka and spiked with natural wood notes. Linear, growing softer over time, this is a lovely offering. My second sample from the Obvious discovery set, and my only disappointment is that this brand does not sell smaller sizes. And in my opinion, a mistake as I would not hesitate to make a purchase. For others who have smaller perfume collections, the 100ml pricing is a no brainer. All this combined with very good quality. For patch lovers, that’s a dangerous combo.

Un Patchouli is smooth and elegant. You need to like patch to enjoy this, but I'm surprised by how classy, down to earth, and versatile this fragrance is. It smells natural like the outdoors, but at the same time dressed up for a formal event. Most of the rough edges are smoothed out by tonka and woody notes. I'm not sure about how much I'd reach for this if I owned it, but it is definitely well done.

At $45/ 100ml on FragranceNet how can I complain. It's a damp patchouli that is smoothed out by the tonka. It gives you a little camphor kick in the opening, but again, it smooths out. The woody and balsam notes begin to peak out in the dry down. Simple and beautiful.

I absolutely love patchouli; it's my favorite note of all, but I have to agree with LMBelvi, below. There is a note (I don't know what it is) that prevents me from absolutely falling in love and buying it. I love the patchouli they used here, and it lasts 6+ hours on me, but there's a dank or sour note that ruins the fragrance for me.

Overly sweet woody scent. The tonka, balsamic and wood mixture come together like furniture polish trying to be something else. I got none of that normally earthy pachouli which normally makes that element so appealing in a fragrance. There was nothing I liked about this fragrance. Not expensive though!

While this fragrance has much in common with woody scents that I like, there is a distinct NO NO note in this scent for me. It is either the tolu balsam or the cade oil. It is dark and sour in a way I don't like. For woody scents, give me Goldfield and Banks Wood Infusion or AMen Pure Tonka!

Bold / potent, a strong earthy patchouli fragrance with a small touch of sweet. My problem, I am not fan of patchouli... not for me. Patchouli is really the star of the perfume. Excellent sillage and longevity. If you love Patchouli Reminiscence, you need to try this Obvious perfume.

Reminds me of Shalimar and when I smell this I think of my mother's dear old friend. Very weak and not for me

This smells like a cheap IKEA vanilla candle with a slight amount of patchouli. Very boring.

never thought i'd run into a patchoui that could be described as retreating, but here it is. Un Patchouli is lovely and, in spite of its name, vanilla FORWARD with a thin backbone of patchouli. it's creamy with a hint of earthiness that reminds me of summer nights spent outside, using skin-so-soft as bugspray.

Different than other patchouli fragrances. It smells like a groundy, earthy, salty pond with the suprising sweet notes of tonkabean and balsam. Lasts ~9 hours on my skin with moderate sillage. Perfect for fall and winter. I can recommend it if you want to buy a new wave patchouli scent.

Love this fragrance - on me it is very tonka bean heavy with the patchouli lingering in the background... unfortunately the sillage on this is less than desired. Might layer with actual patchouli oil and see if that helps.

Opening is fresh and cold patchouli like Molecule 01 + Patchouli. The dry down is sweeter and more classical like patchouli leaves by Montale. I much prefer the opening.

Don't understand the ratings here. It's a nice well blended patchouli with a hint of sweetness.
