Dark Rose

The jammiest rose to have ever jammed. This is a plummy, jammy dark sexy rose that I swear, could have me heart eyed and floating following the scent trail of whoever wears this--and I'm glad I'll be smelling like this! I mean it's the kind of fragrance that sticks in your nose, leaving you wondering "that smells so good, what is that??". This is a deeper, and better-by-miles Kayali Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper. And trust me as a Kayali lover and as someone aware of the yearning for SDPP since it's left the US market, I swear...try this. I wore them side by side on either wrist, and I kept coming back to this one. will update on longevity but the sillage is amazing. Update: Just casually reading through my old reviews and wanted to add: This is not similar to Poets of Berlin at all I have no idea how people see that tbh, like yeah, they're both jammy but that's about it. @SillageClouds... no free PR but that would be awesome. Sorry it didn't work out on your skin; it doesn't mean others are lying though.

I had really high hopes for this one. It's not terrible...I was just really hoping for a dark rose but I'm getting more of a very green vanilla and unripe plum. It smells almost exactly like Poets Of Berlin/Wild Vanilla Orchid. It has decent performance. But it's just not what I was hoping it would be. I'm happy I didn't blind buy based on the listed notes as I would've been disappointed. I can't remember what Decadence smells like but if you've smelled the 2 I mentioned above, you've smelled this before.

Opens beautifully with a juicy plum, a jammy rose, and a good amount of spice. Dries down to something that smells very similar to Marc Jacob’s Decadence... possibly a little better. That scent has been discontinued and I’ve been looking for an alternative. Floral Street and Vilhelm have good options, but I can do without the bamboo in both of them. Here, there is none and this feels like an improvement on the dna. I can’t wait to add a bottle of this incredible scent to my collection.

The reason I made a fragantica account :) this reminds me of a spicy, plump rose version of La vie est belle Intensement!! I got LVEBI during my trip to Paris & it was this musky, rosy womanly scent. Dark Rose is the perfect blend of peppery, dark rosy-plum notes. It dries down to peppery plum then slowly becomes this sexy deep rose. It’s so gorgeous & I am purchasing full size & the oil. It’s just that signature scent for someone in their late 20s & beyond! Thank you Octavia Morgan <3

Testing this from a sample - definitely more a fall scent - delicious and very sultry. One odd thing though - my skin was burning a bit when I put it on. Maybe I'm sensitive to the pepper?

A sultry, spicy rose. Not your typical Delina wannabe - this one is more grown and edgy. I’m loving the entire Octavia Morgan line, especially this one and L’affaire.

Wow. I love this. It’s fresh and powdery. Sweet and musky. Reminds me of the purple melancholia by Valentino.

This is a real dark rose, led by a non sweet plum, and supported by the rest. I do smell the pink pepper, which is crushed and sprinkled over the rose, I don’t pick up the cumin. I wish the labdanum smelled like suede. Also, I want more of the rose to peak through the plum. Yet, this is a dark rose and I like it- not a love. Never really smelled a rose like this so I need time,but I do like it- especially since it’s different for me (I have about 15 rose fragrances and they run into each other; only 3 don’t ). This is a unisex scent. I would not wear this in summer or high humidity. Or in the daytime. Funny, because I have never met a fragrance that I would relegate to the evening until now. Maybe late afternoon in cool or cold weather. And it’s strong, a little will carry you a long way. When I smell this I picture myself in a large datk room covered in thick velvet curtains. I have on vampy makeup, my hair is in big curls on my shoulders & I am leaning back in a plush chair. I look serious and I am taping my long oxblood colored nails. lol! It smells like I only drink very good liquor & I may be abusive in bed, Also, something in DARK ROSE is making me nauseous. It could be the pink pepper oil or some other accord not listed. I have had this for a couple of days. I will come back after I have more experience.

A beautiful fragrance but it’s nothing to write home about. A sweet rose that’s not overpowering like other rose/floral fragrances can be. I will say that I don’t pick up on the spiciness at all. The projection only lasts about an hour or 2 but as it dies down it lingers for a VERY long time. I purchased the discovery set and so far I’ve been a bit disappointed. They smell like slightly more complex and refined Bath and Body Works scents. I wish the scents either wowed me a bit more or were at a lower price point so that I could buy a full size and not feel like I was wasting my money. I think this brand is headed in the right direction though.

Omg! I got to smell this yesterday, sprayed in my skin and this is so lovely! It lasted for 7hrs on my skin, never had a fragrance last on SKIN that long. It's a beautiful spring time vibes, feminine gem! It started as a deep dark rose but later became for of a semi spicy, fresh floral. This is almost an exact copy of Mancera's secret garden perfume, except a little lighter and better blender but exactly the same. But the better blending makes this so much better imo. It's a love for me!

Easily the most unique rose in my collection. This is very patchouli forward on me, which I normally wouldn't like, but this is not a "dirty" patchouli. It's beautifully blended dark rose and plum that settles into a clean, creamy vanilla patchouli with a burst of pink pepper. This was a blind buy I got for half price from View Your Deal and so far I really like it. It's good now but will probably elevate to "great" in fall and winter.

This fragrance opens with a juicy plum and a slightly jammy rose it’s beautiful but it’s not dark at all it’s actually an airy light scent. I get no cumin but a light earthy patchouli with a little hint of sweetness from the vanilla, This can be worn in the spring or summer. This doesn’t project well and it doesn’t last long on my skin it also doesn’t act like it’s an edp it’s like a cologne, So my only complaint would be the name because I wanted a dark rose and this is not it. I would recommend you sample first,

On myself this is patchouli oil and crushed rose petal. It is heavy at first, and It feels "too grown up" for my taste. It's sexy, and dries down to vanilla. Just vanilla. This is the second I've tried from the sample box and I'm worried they're all going to be vanilla.

This should have been called Dark Plum. The rose takes a back seat. Comparisons to Marc Jacobs Decadence are indeed accurate. Dries down to a fizzy woody plum shampoo type of scent. I personally disliked it... and suffered through the base notes staying power.

Definitely a little shady that my previous review was removed. But this is a rich ambery velvety rose which undeniably was inspired by the candle of the same name from company Jo + Monroe. No shame in that at all bc fragrance trends and inspiration happens. And I work for neither company. Just loved the candle enough to obsessively seek out a perfume that smells exactly like it and 5+ years later, this beautiful scent comes along. Anyway, it is a great date night scent. Head-turning, long-lasting, very attractive. A rose that is romantically seductive.

Why are people raving about this? Is it influencers who got sent a free PR package from this brand to hype it up? This is atrocious!!!! I am a jammy rose lover through and through. That is my preferred profile and have many fragrances with this profile. But this...this is pure gasoline on skin. Wow..i dont even have the words. I have scrubbed my hand about 3 times and cant get it off. I will give it 10/10 for longevity but thats about the only positive thing i can say.

This was my first blind buy from Octavia Morgan, and I’m so glad I took the chance. I love the note composition, and everything blends together beautifully. The sillage is noticeable without being overwhelming, making it incredibly comfortable and enjoyable to wear. This was a fantastic introduction to the house, and it certainly won’t be my last.

I don’t like rose fragrances at all, but this is amazing I want a bottle asap! It’s not an old lady rose it’s jammy sweet absolutely gorgeous I’m shocked I like it over all the others.
