Delulu

Delulu is my first experience from Oddity fragrances. I decided to start here even though I have the entire collection waiting to be sampled. I'm glad I did. I consider this one of the best fruit centered fragrances I have tried in quite a long time. It's difficult for me to find a fruity fragrance that I enjoy. I'm not really sure why, other than the fact most smell artificial. So much so that it makes me sick. This one does not do that. Not to say that this does not smell artificial because it does. However, they constructed it in a way that is very refreshing in my opinion more than anything else. That could be because of the citrus. I am a huge fan of citrus and always will be. That could be a major factor in why I enjoy this composition and I am aware of that. But I think it's more than that. This does remind me of when I was younger. Certain toys or crafting projects or crayons or clay or something along those lines is in here. I can't tell you exactly what it is, but the essence of that is in here. At one point I got a glimpse of being back in preschool where my mom used to drop me off. In the morning we always had time to play with one thing or another. That particular area where we played had a distinct smell that I always noticed when I went there in the morning. To this day I still remember that smell. I have no idea what it is. It could even be the disinfectant the employees used every morning before the kids arrived. And I will say Delulu has a disinfectant quality about it. I find it so fascinating that other people had this specific memory so much so that they were able to re-create it in a fragrance. What the heck is that smell!? Is it Crayola crayons? Is it the markers? Play-Doh? It has to be something an entire generation all over the world has experienced. The fact that they were able to capture this particular memory really reinforces my admiration and love for this olfactory art. I was not expecting this and I am so thankful for this. Yes I will admit this fragrance may not be for everybody. Remember after all we are no longer in mainstream territory. We are now experiencing Real art and real art does not please everybody. Sometimes it is frustrating. Sometimes we simply blow it off. But sometimes it can move you. It can move you in a way unlike anything else. These moments are what you strive for. And that has been achieved here. So I applaud Oddity. I am now excited to experience their other creations. I can see where they're going and I can trust they are not wasting my time. Brands like this make me fall in love with this art form more every day. At surface this a citrus fruit fresh fragrance. But really, this is childhood in spray form. I highly recommend you at least try to see if they captured yours as well.

i'm in pain, this is my perfect hot weather scent. the sourest scent ive ever tried (and exceeds bergamote 22 in bergamot scent somehow lol). the rhubarb is so rhubarby, i've genuinely never smelled anything like it, which im addicted to. this is not an overly sweet fragrance but its extremely bright and fruity. it is devastating to me how much i like it because it doesnt last very long. on hour three its mostly gone and all im getting is a very light fruit note, with an undertone of pleasant slightly sour fruity-skin with maybe a hint of aquatic? i definitely see what people mean with saying it has a dampness to it. on me, no weed smell like what others have described , on the dry down. now i have to decide if i could drop this kind of money to spray this every 3 hours and feel so springy and fresh and bright. i dont even wanna finish my sample 😭

I auto-buy samples of any new release that contains a rhubarb note, so I was delighted to discover Delulu is very rhubarb forward. The opening is bright and citrusy but bitter in a very aromatic, mouth watering way. Like other reviewers, I'm reminded of hard candies with a sour citric acid exterior. The citrus notes lean more towards the pith and rind than the juice. I don't get much rose from it, but I can see Delulu layering beautifully with a more rose forward scent to help soften those rough edges. When I finish my sample, I'll be very tempted to buy a full bottle.

This smells like organic candy. bright, tart citrus and rhubarb at the start, then a tumble of strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrant. The rose and osmanthus add a soft floral glaze, while the musk and sandalwood keep it clean and almost airy. It’s sweet, but not syrupy—more like a boutique fruit chew you’d find in a health store, dusted with petals and sunshine. Playful, juicy, and a little eccentric, in the best way

This is TART. Sweet, tangy, brightly colored hard candy with an undercurrent of soft rose. As a rhubarb fan, I’m obsessed with smelling this, it’s SO good. I don’t think it’s something I’d wear though, I think I need this as a candle so my whole house can smell like this.

Perfectly sour, delicious and juicy. Candy, yes, creamy and not sickeningly sweet. The rhubarb balances the fruit and the frankincense, musk and vetiver are grounding it all. I'm in love. Woody, resinous candies.

Sticky-sour candy plastic. Viscid fruit punch, starring a California-sober rhubarb. One of those rare dirty-clean fragrances. It’s a scent that takes a bit of breaking in; the olfactory equivalent of a pair of jelly sandals. I did not enjoy the opening – an acrid citron that hit too Pine Sol for my liking – but once it marinated into tangy, fruity goo I was all heart-eyes. I’m eating a bag of Haribo Twin Snakes as I type this and my fingers smell almost exactly like my pulse points. Longevity does not joke, either. Another addition to the edible gummy family of fragrances (see Gumamina’s Odette, Universal Flowering’s Burst!, and the slightly skunkier, slightly more serious Diptyque Lazulio). A fun time, for sure. But I don’t think I want to Delulu on the daily. Mental Snapshot: Rummaging through a toy chest of freshly-sanitized unicorns and dinosaurs with Jolly Rancher-tacky fingers. But you’re the daycare owner now. “You smell like weed,” Says Kevin R. “No Kevin R.,” You quickly hush. “I smell like Bulgarian rose and osmanthus.” tl;dr: candy for grown-ups 🍭🍁

This fragrance plays games with your nose, and honestly, I'm here for the chaos. The opening is sharp, tart, almost shocking—like squeezing fresh 🍊mandarin and rhubarb simultaneously, with juicy citrus splashing everywhere. Peach sneaks in, slightly sweet yet edgy. Then comes the twist: incense and a weed green haze that feels artistic and rebellious. Not polite, not safe. First sniff, I thought "absolutely not." Yet, I kept going back to my wrist. The curiosity factor is real. The dry down is where it won me over. It shifts dramatically—softer, more mature, and nicer. I caught this strawberry-rose floral moment that genuinely surprised me. Sticky-sour candy vibes melting into smooth musk. Reality check, though: this is not blind-buy safe at all. It's polarizing and a little unhinged.

Wearing a dabber sample (ugh), but I’m actually really enjoying it! It’s fruity and playful... definitely outside my usual preferences. I could see myself picking up a travel size, though probably not a full bottle since it’s not groundbreaking. There’s a tart note that gives me Valhelm London Funk vibes, but this one is far more wearable. Once you reach the dry down you're left with a beautiful playful musk. Feels perfect for spring and summer. Edit: bought the travel size and have been enjoying it! If I go through this, I'll definitely buy a bottle.

This is Burst! by Universal Flowering, but a little fruitier and rosier. Extremely sour/tart and juicy, with pencil shavings and rose. It has a strong funk to it - like weed or armpits but in a fun sexy way. It stays true throughout its wear - this is not a fragrance that changes. What you smell at first, is exactly what you'll smell after 8 hours. It's an i n c r e d i b l y high performer - projection is intense and it lasts forever. I would categorize this as a sour, fruity, juicy rose fragrance.

This reminds me of these chewable Vitaminc C tablets I loved when I was a kid. Something sharp in the opening put me off and I thought 'no'. But I couldn't stop smelling my wrist. This fragrance REALLY takes me back to my childhood--there's something joyful, playful and childlike about it. Hours later I'm still smelling my wrist every few minutes and wishing I'd bought this instead of the 'safer' perfume I ended up buying. The bottle is gorgeous.

You’re 6 years old. You just got done playing in the bathtub. Your hair is freshly washed with L’Oreal Kids 2-in-1. Your fingers are wrinkly from the water and you’re wrapped in a clean fluffy towel that was washed with Downy. You head to your room, get dressed for bed and slap on some cherry lip smackers chapstick and then sit down to play with your My Little Ponies before you’re told to go to bed.

Really enjoying this one today! I agree there’s a juvenile quality to it, but in a way that’s beautifully reminiscent; it doesn’t just smell like a body spray you’d get in 7th grade. It is sweet (but not overly so) and fruity (but elevated, I like the rhubarb). I doubt I’ll spring for a full size but I’m glad to have a sample!

A burst of tangy, rejuvenating bitter citruses give way to a soft musky blackcurrant rose. Smells juicy, playful and like the colour bubblegum pink, which is not to say it smells at all like bubblegum!

My most complimented rhubarb scent. Others lean a little more sour but this one stays more on the fresh, tart side of the spectrum with a slightly sweet sparkle

This is so fun! It literally smells like the word “eccentric”. It’s nostalgic, someone who spends their days romanticizing their childhood summers. It’s got a mouthwatering rhubarb profile. Really nice, just not quite my thing. Whoever wears this is a gem

The reviews are kind of intense, I need to go back to think about my childhood as I smell this. I did get pomelo/citrus notes. I remember thinking it's not bad! Its sweet, it's fruity, it's bright. Nothing else felt memorable to me.

Someone said it smelled like a weed cart now that's all I can think about LOL. Very rhubarby and sour at first but dries down really tangy... it's interesting lolol idk if I'd spend 300 on it or wear it but it's not horrible

Fruity weed! I mean it really smelled like weed, covered in berries during the middle stage. Once it dried down, it was just really fruity, but the middle two hours, I got a lot of weed. Unsure of this one.

It's okay. I think the rhubarb is ruining it for me by making it a bit sour. I get a lot of citrus in the opening and I feel like the vetiver really comes out in the drydown. Def not FBW.

Basic fruity musky women's smell but with a little more depth than you might be used to. Soft and nicely blended.

Pine-Sol weed gummies and bug spray

I received a sample from Scent Split yesterday. Upon spraying it, I thought I was getting lemon and passionfruit but I don't see passionfruit listed as a note. The opening smelled a lot like you'd imagine a fruity citrus flavored sour candy to smell and I was here for it. Moments later it morphed into lemon cleaning spray. In a world filled with delicious citrus fragrances, there's no reason for me to pick this one. It's not a bad smell- I just don't want to smell like a clean bathroom.

i was scared based on other reviews and previous experiences with blackcurrant scents that this was going to smell like weed - i don’t think it did on me but i still didn’t really like it. i had a hard time picking out any of the notes listed. this had a musty laundry smell to me, soapy but there was a dampness to it that was unsettling. i feel like i went noseblind to it pretty quickly but my boyfriend could smell it hours later.

I just don't like rhubarb as a scent (as a food ingredient, I love it). On me this is sour-astringent in a grating, cleaning-product way, but if I weren't so averse to rhubarb I might be able to tune into the mid and base notes more..

Unfortunately, I really really do not like this fragrance😅. It smells very soapy, screechy, and reminds me of cleaner/disinfectant spray. I think it’s the citruses that I’m really disliking, which would be the citron, mandarin, and perhaps the bergamot as well. I honestly blame the citron, predominantly, because it’s coming across so screechy and I haven’t experienced that to this extent with mandarin or bergamot. I will say that the fragrance has depth. I get the citruses, the rhubarb (I wish it were all about the rhubarb vs. the citruses), a touch of the red fruits, the rose, but what is actually interesting to me are how the base notes come across. They do help to ground the fragrance and make it read very unisex, perhaps even slightly masculine-leaning. You get a nice green/woody/resinous aroma from the vetiver, sandalwood, ambroxan, olibanum, and musk. Overall, it’s a VERY tart, citrusy, green, soapy, woody, and slightly resinous fragrance. I happened to strongly dislike it and need to wash it off since it was so nauseating and headache-inducing, but if the above adjectives sound like your jam, then you might like it. Not a bad fragrance just soooooo not my fragrance🥲🤢😭🥹.

I liked this in the opening — it reminded me of possibly satsuma juice but after a few hours, it's dried down too tart and soapy which was so disappointing

Beautiful foolishness, madcap delight. Coloring book fruit bowls come to life scribbled wild outside every line, Aladdan's cave jeweled jello towers giggling, wibbling, sweet reckless audacity of spinning til dizzy-drunk, dress helicopter-whirling eyeballs pinwheel-wild. Mandarin acid-bright, cartoon citrus. Rhubarb's pink bite. Blackcurrant shadows pooling, brief gravity, wry mordancy. Peachy fuzz osmanthus, vetiver's tannic grip, a self-aware undertow of flat champagne effervescence, Tartness with sass-filtered sweetness, bright bright primary colors, slightly chaotic energy of cars shaped like pickles and animals wearing tiny hats doing important jobs, delightfully absurd, winking impish. Breathless, tumbling; catching joy by its wrist as it races past. It's a scent that combines the feeling of radical kindness and demented glee and calls to mind why I love the stories of shows like Steven Universe. As a matter of fact, I think the whole cast of Steven Universe smells like this, the way they can be simultaneously deeply caring and completely unhinged with joy. That combination of genuine sweetness with chaotic energy - it's Garnet's cool confidence meets Amethyst's wild abandon meets Steven's pure-hearted enthusiasm. The fragrance has that same quality of being deeply good-natured but never boring, sweet but with enough "edge" to keep it interesting. I just read John Green's The Anthropocene Reviewed: Essays on a Human-Centered Planet and this is a scent that sort of makes me think of what he wrote here, “You can't see the future coming--not the terrors, for sure, but you also can't see the wonders that are coming, the moments of light-soaked joy that await each of us.” I highly recommend John Green's book and I also highly recommend Delulu.

First of all, I hate the name of this new launch. Just getting that out of the way! As for the scent, it's saccharine, jammy, creamy, and pretty delightful. Smells like a glimpse of summer; you're enjoying a full spread of sweet treats and fruits outside with friends. The rhubarb really cuts through with its tanginess, and the blackcurrant/strawberry/raspberry definitely give it a slightly more gourmand and dessert-like feel (but to me they aren't overly cloying). I like the concept that this represents. Oddity is a very thoughtful brand and they prioritize buyers' sensory and emotional experiences by contextualizing their products with unique packaging and copy. There is a juvenile quality to "Delulu" which will allow everyone to form their own associations, but my immediate thought was those red/white/blue popsicles passed out during the peak of summer here in the US. There's a vaguely smokey or incensed quality to this that reminded me of a candle being snuffed out. Might be the olibanum note that is causing this, and I do like it actually. Deepens the profile in an interesting way. I wouldn't categorize this as a freshie by any means. Wear this in the late afternoon when the heat is subsiding but the sun remains.

You're a child, slurping ice cold rhubarb lemonade on the first day of spring, with just the promise of sunshine in the sky, but you're down bad enough for summer that you're Delulu-ing it into existence! Pencil shavings, inflatable rubber furniture, plastic toys, Haribos, the flowering shrubs around the playground, doused in sour-sweet fruit, glitter and slight hysteria. I'm obsessed- it's defo not blind-buy safe, and it suits the most specific mood and time of year for me, but the projection is great and longevity incredible. It feels playful without being girlish, slightly camp, modern, refreshing and vibrant. MAMA I LOVE HER!

My second favorite of the foursome but don’t get too excited, they’re all pretty subpar, especially considering the price. At least Delulu puts together a pleasant sweet and sour fruity accord that sustains itself for a couple hours without the rhubarb/grapefruit veering too sour/synthetic nor the berries too sweet/cloying. I enjoy that part. But I’m not paying $300 for it. 2 out of 5.

A dark pink gelatin soap which looks yummy and smells intensely of soapy, bright rhubarb. What a gorgeous soap! And then the smell will not leave your hands and you hate it, oh my god how is it like this, no no no.
