Wearable Baroque Charm Can one be both classy and gaudy? Refined and excessive? Most of us, I think, would turn our nose up at the idea that what is truly kitsch and quirky could be taste curated by a high-class tongue. And yet, Lapinou is a powder puff of whimsical wonder as much as it is a gilded tea leaf. In essence, it’s the fifth chapter of Over the Garden Wall (Mad Love), wherein an affluent man named Quincy Endicott, baron of the successful enterprise “Endicott brand tea” believes he’s seeing a ghost throughout his mansion. Meanwhile, main characters and stepbrothers Greg and Wirt, along with a talking horse and a human-turned bluebird, try to figure out how and what they can steal from him to pay a ferry fare across the river. The punchline of the episode is that the assumed ghost preoccupying the rich man is actually a kindred spirit — a tea heiress who he keeps happening upon because the two independently and accidentally expanded their convoluted mansions so far from their original floor plan that they started building into one another’s homes. Lapinou has got all the whimsy of talking animals, all the libertine feel of a French creation, but all the restrained luxuriance of an upper-class sensibility. Quiet, but one-of-a-kind. Amazing find!

Lapinou 🐰🐇✨ I tried this on my neck the other day, and OMG, it's like a little slice of heaven: candied lemon, cookies, and iris! 🍋💜 I adore Pas de Chat, but Lapinou might just take its crown as my favorite from Odette. It's so cozy yet classy, and it lasts forever on my skin, but it's not overpowering, just a lovely, subtle bubble of iris and sweetness. 🐇 As it dries down, there's this soft cookie smell, and the amber and musk create the most chill, comfy base. It's super easy to wear and so ethereal. At its heart, a distinct iris note adds a beautiful, slightly powdery floral touch—sophisticated and truly memorable 🌸 Beneath that floral grace, warm sandalwood brings depth and refinement. There’s a lovely balance between delicacy and structure here that makes it feel refined, yet still playful, just like its name. Not overly sweet: just gently comforting in the best way 🐇 It has that natural, effortless elegance I really connect with. It feels completely second nature, like it was always meant to be yours. Lapinou is a 9/10 for me. 🐰🤍🐰 And the price? Totally worth it. Odette, you've done it again! 🐇

Beautiful, love at first sniff. This scent is such an experience, it's enjoying a lemon cookie with your tea and light and airy, but also creamy and cozy. I love the sandalwood in this--it's definitely detectable, and a lactonic sandalwood (more like santal blush than santal 33, for example) that comes to the forefront as the scent develops and complemented by coconut. The blend of notes is comforting, and surprisingly not super gourmand despite the expected edibleness. It's sweet, but not nauseatingly. Maybe worth testing if you are unsure about sandalwood, but fairly easy to wear. I love the odette dna, and while her scents don't have crazy bold projection or longevity, they have an angelic quality to them. I also feel like everyone can find their favorite, but also play around with different profiles--I love this one and coup de pied, but I wouldn't say they smell similar beyond something in their aura/essence.

This fragrance is iconic. Honestly it’s almost a complete dupe for Aesop Eidesis on the dry down. It opens with a very subtle lemon earl grey tea with some milk. Any iris in there is not powdery or makeup-y, but almost carrot cake. What I wanted from Masque Milano Lost Alice and what that one failed to deliver. It dries down to an intoxicating creamy sandalwood. I can’t stop smelling it, and I want to bathe in it and have everyone I know associate me with this smell. You could probably wear this in all seasons and situations except maybe not as much in high heat or on formal glamorous occasions.

This is such an excellent earl grey tea scent: it's bright, perfectly sweet and dream-like. I can imagine having a tea party with the Mad Hatter with this wafting in the background. I'd compare it Lepus by Piper & Perro - another fantastic earl grey scent. If you dislike lavender or are not able to withstand the wait of a Piper & Perro order, this is a solid alternative. Edit: I am really starting to appreciate the Iris and sugar cookie in the dry down. It’s sooo cozy. I’m been layering it with In Dreams & Fairytales Blueberry and the combo is heavenly!

this is such a whimsical scent!!! i usually don’t reach for gourmands but this is definitely a gourmand for the non gourmand girlies!! it opens up with a super light whimsical sweetness then dries down to a deeper floral musky scent. my favorite thing is that it doesn’t lose the sugar cookie note in the dry down, it remains prominent throughout wear giving it that otherworldly mystical vibe! a super airy and light sweetness. reminds me of a scent the main girl in a fairytale would wear! so wearable and ethereal. this scent needs more attention!

After getting addicted to Pas de Chat, I decided to give this one a try. Lapinou is a fragrance full of whimsy and nostalgia. When I first roll it on, I get an intense hit of candied lemon and iris. As it dries, the amber comes out and finally the base notes of musk and sugar cookies whisper at me. It gives me images of spring, periwinkle ribbons, milk tea, and lemon biscuits. Reminds me of drinking tea and eating lemon cookies with my grandma. This is my absolute favorite now, I cannot leave the house without putting it on.

This is absolutely gorgeous. So unique and yummy smelling with a tad bit of spice to it. I need this!!

A gorgeous, delicate, lemon, tea and iris scent with a soft and lightly sweet vanilla sponge cake/cookie. I’ve only just received my bottle from the other side of the world, so the scent may change, but Iris and lemon are definitely the strongest notes in the dry down. I didn’t expect to love this but it’s beautiful! It is light wearing though, more of an intimate skin scent. It really doesn’t project at all.

Sadly, all I get is vetiver and sandalwood so it smells like an older gentleman’s cologne. I’m so disappointed, as it was a blind buy. No citrus, no sugar cookie, no tea whatsoever. Just strong old fashioned shaving cream smells. Not a safe blind buy.

I am smelling Lapinou for the first time today. The strongest note in here for me is black tea, very similar to a earl grey. I can catch a hint of the iris and cashmeran but it's subtle. This is not a very sweet perfume that I expected it do be based on the notes. I'd say its more musky than gourmand. However, it is a subtle scent; and this isn't your grandma's musk fragrance. This is very cozy, warm, feminine, and very wearable. The quality of this fragrance seems high; when I smell it, I feel like I've entered a rich person's bedroom or some other setting I normally wouldn't be able to step foot into as a person in a lower tax bracket. I don't normally prefer fragrances with low/subtle projection, but this is nice--I will be wearing it frequently as this scent makes me genuinely happy when I smell it. I could definitely see it being a signature scent for someone who has a very soft & sweet aesthetic.

I find this to be a very mature, beautiful black tea forward fragrance. It’s by no means sweet in my opinion, only sifted enough by the more sugary notes so that it’s not too bitter. It’s a warm cup of tea steaming in a room draped in velvets and silks, and has a lovely “perfuminess” that makes this an almost atmospheric scent. This fragrance doesn’t feel like the perfume itself, but instead, sitting with a lady of excellent tastes and breathing in the smell of her fine clothes, perfume, and steaming cup of earl grey.

This is a lemon and sandalwood scent to my nose..I get a little bit of tea and iris. I have Gris Charnel on one arm and this on the other, and this one is just more sugary. Not more creamy or soft. Just sweeter. I wish it was more creamy and cookie like.

What is everyone smelling 😭? This is so masculine, the dry sandalwood and cashmere note so overwhelming it smashes down all the other pretty notes . Im not a picky perfume person but this is horrible.
