Pain Au Chocolat

I blind bought this and am so glad I did! This is my first Odette scent and I’m so impressed. This is stunning, easily the nicest and most photorealistic chocolate I have tried! I don’t necessarily get dough as a distinctive scent but the notes just work with each other beautifully to create this soft, buttery, yummy chocolatey scent. The chocolate starts out soft, pretty, light and milky but quickly changes to a yummy rich chocolate ganache. It lasts surprisingly long on me (7-8 hours) and by the end of the day it is a stunning but intimate vanilla milk smell. I don’t have a bedtime perfume but this could certainly be it. Roll on autumn/winter, I can’t wait to wear this whilst being wrapped up in a big jumper, watching the leaves fall in the park, eating a pain au chocolat of course.

This beauty starts out as a realistic pain au chocolat: melting soft pastry, rich and oozing salty dark chocolate, still warm from the oven. Then it turns to a gentle milky vanilla with a hint of violets. I’m back at my regular table at the Cafe des Phares when I lived in Paris in 1999, eating a morning pain au chocolat on my way to work while watching people stroll by. Maybe there’s even a handsome waiter to flirt with? Either way, this is my happy place, and Pain Au Chocolat is a stunning Autumn/Winter perfume by Odette Parfum Co. P.S. Try layering it with Devotion Intense to smell like chocolate orange, or with Sticky Fingers to turn it into a chocolate patchouli.

Well I get no realistic anything in this. I didn’t like it at all. It reminds me of Armani's Magenta Tanzanite which makes me ill. Pass for me.

A cold glass of milk and woody incense. Absolutely not a photorealistic chocolate. If you're looking for that, I'd go for Le Gourmand by Jousset or Velvet Chocolate by Theodoros Kalotinis.

I think if you use "pain" in the name, the fragrance should have a pastry note. Something wheat-y. But this just smells like cocoa butter and cigarettes.
