Rose Adage

Rose Adage is everything I wanted Delina by Parfums De Marly to be! I'm wearing them both right now for this review, one on each wrist. They are very similar, dewy Turkish roses, but Rose Adage is more elegantly blended. Delina has a sharp and overpowering sourness from its litchi/rhubarb notes that I dislike, where Rose Adage has only a whisper of tartness reminiscent of a lemon meringue pie, as Fragrantica's Matt Morris noted in his beautifully written review. The candied violet, fluffy vanilla, heliotrope, and light musk make Rose Adage an ethereal, fairytale fragrance that would perfectly befit Princess Aurora in her pink tutu and slippers from the ballet Sleeping Beauty. I am a huge fan of every one of Odette Parfum Co.'s exquisitely romantic fragrances, and I highly recommend purchasing samples of each from their website. Also, please note, if you are looking for more of a "lipstick" rose, I suggest Odette Parfum Co.'s Moulin Rose!

It opens with powdery yet fresh rose water with some amber-y musky notes. At first it vaguely reminded me of some of Chloé's scents for a split second but it's a lot softer of course (esp sillage wise it's very intimate) it's one of Odette's scents that makes you think "Wow the first one I've tried in the discovery kit that isn't a gourmand?" then it dries down to a beautiful milky creamy sugary candy rose marshmallow. It quickly grew on me and now I'm in love and crave the dry down because it's so sweet and soft and comforting. This scent feels like taking a bite out of a chewy soft rose Turkish Delight coated in powdered sugar. It's delicate and delicious.

This is a photorealistic doll scent. I do get the dewy rose petals that others have mentioned for sure, but the most prominent thing to me is that this quite literally reminds me of the fresh and clean smell of the soft plastic of a doll head- specifically reminds me of the sweeter scented ones like Soda Pop Girls (I’m a 2000s kid) or the old Barbie Magic of the Pegasus dolls. That’s the vibe I get from this perfume- it is very pleasant and sophisticated, but there’s a certain melancholic nostalgia for childhood in it. I was expecting a more lipsticky rose/violet scent which can sometimes pull more mature but this is an incredibly youthful rose.

Rose Adage feels like stepping into a hazy dream of velvety roses and whispered secrets. It’s soft and romantic, like a love song played on an old record, with its powdery florals and lingering warmth. It wraps around you like a vintage silk scarf, feminine, timeless, and a little mysterious, the kind of scent that leaves a rosy trail wherever you go.

this one is so soft and gentle, not a loud or strong rose at all. the powdery/violet-y notes really feel like the star in this one. if you don't like sweet scents, don't be scared off by the sugar and whipped cream notes. it's not too sugary, rather light and fluffy. it's giving babydoll's head, which is one of my favorite perfume styles.

a floral, musky, tart, honey and vanilla sweet walk through an empty ballet studio or concert hall. very lovely, not as lactonic as i'd kind of hoped, but i still really like it for what it is. maybe as it ages it'll change some

The rose in this is pretty light / palatable to me on skin. Sugar and the violet and heliotrope come through at an equal level. Definitely musk and cream. Not overly powdery. Pleasant, very feminine.

Her pointed toes barely brushed the earth, each step a whisper of satin slippers against the cold floor. She wasn't fully woman nor fully bouquet, but an ethereal blend of flowers and porcelain skin. The air shimmered around her with a heady fragrance of roses, the dusky sweetness of violets, and the vanilla-touched allure of heliotrope. Her essence wasn't just that of flowers, though. Sheer musk, a whisper of the skin beneath it all, lingered in the air. Velvety amber evoked the smooth warmth of sunlight, while a hint of crème anglaise emanated home and comfort. When she danced, people forgot their names, even their very breath. Notes of music were the only things that tethered their souls to their bodies, for they watched as if caught in a spell. The air thickened with longing and a desperate ache for something impossibly beautiful, impossibly out of reach. The ballerina of blooms danced only in the twilight. However, the stage lights caught the dew that clung to her petals, and she glittered like a starlit garden. The ethereal theater became a cathedral devoted only to her. And when her dance was done, the petals would slowly rain down, leaving only the memory of her otherworldly grace and a fragrance that lingered in the hearts of those who witnessed her. This is Rose Adage.

Rose Adage is a pretty pink rose with honey. The honey is quite strong for me in this fragrance. It smells as of the bees only gathered pollen from pink roses, clovers and violets and made honey from only those flowers. While I am smelling the fragrance it feels as if I am eating the honey I just described. Rose petals now come through, a tea infused with rose petals and sweetened with honey is the heart of the fragrance. Vanilla cakes served with sweet whipped cream are there as well. A gentle feminine musk floats in and out. The sweetness is not heavy, it is very gentle. Everything about this fragrance is delicate and light in its presentation. It's aura. It smells quite graceful, but whimsical. A gentle and light gourmand honey tea rose. While I do like this perfume I wish the brand would give larger samples. The sample was barely 1ml. I burned through it rather quickly this morning. Companies need to give 2ml to 3ml size samples. Ridiculous how cheap they are, pisses me off. 1ml just isn't enough to decide on a full bottle purchase. This does wear a bit to close to the skin for my taste but it is pretty.

A light, airy rose water without a hint of powder (thank god). The candied violet adds a bright, sweet touch, showing me just how beautifully versatile violet can be. I don’t usually like rose, but this one is changing my mind. The honeywood in the drydown was such a smart choice—it carries the fragrance so elegantly. I wish I had a travel size to wear-test it more.

this is a sweet, candied rose to me - very youthful and bright. i get more of the violet after a little while but the rose still leads here. a really good summer or hot weather wear!

Did I get a bottle missing ingredients? This literallyliterally smells like chemicals mixed with mint. I don't know if I would trust these reviews saying it's the rose fragrance of their dreams. That cannot be possible. Where is the rose? Powder? Sugar? Anything ? This smells like a dollar store cleaning spray. It doesn't even smell like a perfume. I own over 300 bottles and have never experienced anything like this. This cannot possibly be what this is meant to smell like. I own Pas de Chat and that was is lovely and unique. Buyers beware , there are no returns from this brand.

This is such a lovely scent! It is somehow both dewy and powdery, cosmetic-y and sweet. I described it in a tiktok as a gourmand lipstick and I think that’s pretty spot on. I have a full bottle, as well as a rollerball. I prefer the scent straight on my skin so I keep the rollerball in my purse for any time I need a Sniff for SerotoninTM️ It makes me feel so girly and sweet. I wore it on Valentine’s Day and a client said “Oooh, you smell like a valentine!”

The rose scent of my dreams! So impressed with how Rose Adage captures the scent of not just rose but specifically rose water, which is something I’ve been searching for in a perfume. Never goes heavy and headache-inducing the way so many other rose scents do on me. So light and sparkling, and conjures the image of candied soft pink rose petals, glittered with sugar atop an ornate cake.

This is the rose scent I have been searching for: softly blushing, floating on a sweet whipped cream cloud, with a gentle, fuzzy musk. Surprisingly good longevity for such a dainty fragrance. I have the travel sized roller ball and want to upgrade to a full bottle.

If Mancera Roses Vanille is en pointe, this is dance class in little pink satin slippers, jetéing around a sun soaked rehearsal space, sucking on Choward’s Violet Mints after rehearsal, dreaming of becoming a prima ballerina.

This smells like Guerlain’s Ginger Picante minus the ginger It smells like a musky tart watery rose(not rose water)

Like a new pair of pointe shoes. Clean, silky and lightly sweet!

Smells like Thayers rose witch hazel. Not my favorite.
