No 9 Posala Odin

At first I was hesitant to try this, as the smell coming out of the bottle was VERY masculine. But with the colder weather upon us, I thought I'd give it a try. Man, am I glad I did. This is an intensely beautiful, heavy scent, with a deep, fruity smokiness and quite a bit of spice. I'm picking up a lot of the sweetness of peach and tobacco, a touch of amber, the tiniest bit of Jasmine plus the smoke and spice. I've only had it on for a few hours, so I'll edit this if the scent changes. On me, it's not very floral. I don't necessarily agree with the other reviewers that this is more a feminine scent than a masculine one, and it might be because of that lack of flowers. To me, this is smoky, fruity, spicy heaven, and I think a man's chemistry could probably pull even more sexy smokiness. Sillage is good, and here's hoping this baby lasts all day. Women in their 20s-30s could easily pull this off if they're looking for a very sexy, warm unisex scent for the colder months, in addition to men of distinction at any age. So delicious! Edit: still yummy and warm, but I am picking up a bit more floral on the dry down. The spice backs off a bit, and it tones down into a warm amber with an almost powdery, light floral and touches of smoke. Still a wrist-sniffer though, and I still think this would be totally delicious on a guy. Second edit: layered this with Bath & Body Works Twilight Woods and it's INCREDIBLE. It adds even more feminine fruity-ness to Odin's Posala.

It opens immediately into dark, jammy peach with a boozy floral tobacco background. It is deep, sensuous, nuanced, and wearable. The white florals bloom gently over a lightly boozed amber resin. After testing too many Overpriced cheap-Smelling synthetic peaches, this is a welcome surprise of quality. This not your spring day peach.This scent is cozy, strong, and approachable. It is Very wearable for an atmospheric date night or a chilly day. I might be wearing it year round. For me this was love at first sniff and I become more enamored with every wear. Peach tobacco for both men and women. Try and buy now as Odin is discontinuing its fragrances. Posala might make me break my rule about backups.

A deeply beautiful fragrance, compelling and mysterious. Notes unfurl like a baroque composition layering one after another in an intricate dance of soft fruit, florals and then spicy amber. Will definitely be even better in the colder months. Edit: Fall has arrived and my prediction is correct, Posala is perfection in the cold! Love it more with each wearing, definitely fbw

O la la ~~ all in all a soapy scent BUT so much better. Peach, light floral, faint tobacco, vanilla and soap. Very nice and very addicting. I love to smell this scent on me, on him, and on them; in the rain, in the dark, on a train, and in a car, in a tree - it is so good, so good you see! Unisex

Spring and it’s blooms in the bottle.nothing more nothing less. Peaches , blooms , and cool wind of a lovely spring evening. Joyful , wearable and uplifting.you may find it a bit feminin however totally unisex imho. It is like a shadow game to me .dark and colorful simultaneously. 4/5 Age:+25

Probably my favorite more feminine type of scent. Maybe a tie with Black Orchid. I get a lot of vanilla on my skin and the other notes dance in the background. Lasts an entire work day. Sweet and not overpowering. Love it.

The first impression is ripe peach and pear blossom. The peach is especially clear, carrying the sweetness of fully ripened fruit within a bright yet warm floral fruity opening. In the heart, Bourbon vanilla becomes very prominent, pushing the peach and white florals into a sweeter and warmer direction. The texture grows softer, with hints reminiscent of body lotion and cosmetic powder. The entire composition feels wrapped in the sweetness of peach and the warmth of vanilla. In the drydown, tobacco appears only lightly. Benzoin and amber bring a warm resinous glow, while iris adds a slightly cosmetic, dry softness that makes the base feel warm and smooth. It works particularly well for people who enjoy mature floral fruity fragrances. Longevity is around six hours with moderate projection.

rating: 8/10 I use it with Odin 06 together - one spray each arm. I love the mixture of both rather than the development of just single one. They last quite long, at least 4-5 hours, which I like very much.

It is nice though a bit faint and it is actually very feminine. I ended up giving it to my wife.

#1024 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Delphine Jelk has crafted some amazing scents for Guerlain that are on my shelves, but this cacophony doesn't work. It opens with a bath powdery floral burst, like ripping off the paper wrapper of a cheap bar soap. If not for the tobacco note no one would ever call this unisex as I don't imagine any man wearing it, and my girlfriend would have to scrub it off before getting near me. This strikes me as something strictly for elderly women, and I mean very elderly, like in the home elderly. It does improve in a half hour when mostly you smell jasmine and a very synthetic pear, but never becomes likable and attractive. This is the third Odin scent I've tried and all three were so unlikable I tossed the spay sample rather than give them away. Definitely not a bottle buy for me and shouldn't be for anyone else.

This is the most heavy top note fragrance that I have tried. It's all about peach with a little pear. The base notes have no existence on my skin. I do get a tad bit of the florals but it's definitely more fruity than anything. There is nothing unisex about this! It's straight up female. Guys don't even waste your money on a sample if you are thinking about it.

At last something feminine from Odin. I realize that they classify everything as unisex, but let's just say that if any perfume can be said to be feminine, this one is. To be honest, I do not know a lot of guys who could pull this one off. Posala is a sweet white flower composition with a marked fruitiness. It has the sweetness level of many mainstream fragrances, but the floral aspect seems much more natural. I detect mainly jasmine, but orange blossom is lurking in the background. The quality of the components is what sets this creation apart from the crowd. The genre of Odin 09 is in some ways all-too-familiar, but this variation on the theme is sophisticated and well enough made to count as a real perfume. Anyone who likes heavier fruity-floral fragrances would probably like this one, but intense white flower appreciation is a prerequisite. Some people who dislike abstract fruity-floral fragrances might enjoy this creation for its greater depth and complexity. But it is fruity and sweet--almost syrupy--so be forewarned. Above all: try before you buy!

oooh my God!! .... this fragrance reminds me allot of a female relative of mine. it's the smell of her room and i can still remember that quite clear!! i last witnessed it when i was a very young kid. she is a Thierry Mugler Angel Lover with a capital L, she uses Estee Lauder Makeup (i really don't know which!) she uses small foundation cream (don't remember the name!) it's very small pot half light blue and the other half is white and on top of it there is a music instrument and i guess it's a jazz!. a lot of hair dryer everywhere & hair curler. this fragrance is like that, the hair dryer and curler hot temp gives the essence of tobacco with the help of her cotton sheets, cold room temp, and a tiny bit of her make up with the base note of sweet angel fragrance. the smell goes like a zigzag... you smell the sweetness of it then it hits with a lung disturb note which is the tobacco then the benzoin, vanilla, neroli and amber hits at the end & that's all in one sniff. quite complex and interesting. a very long lasting (it's on my plotter 24+ hours.

There is a very simple reason why I bought this perfume: When I sampled it at the Odin counter, it made me smile instantly in the moment I smelled it. This perfume makes me happy apparently. After wearing it the first time, I find the combination of sweet fruit and tobacco gives it depth and unique character. I notice that this is not a tobacco fragrance per se. The tobacco merely floats in the background and sets the scene while pear and peach are on stage in full spotlight. The genre of peachy-fruity fragrances is often marketed towards women. However, within this category, I think it's a viable unisex option. Especially, if one's looking into venturing outside of the citrus fruits department.

Odin strikes me again. Wonderful creation! Very Lutensesque. It's a kind of peachy version of La Vierge de Fer. Beautiful boozy opening with peach and pear blossom. Yes it exists and it has such a low profile and chic perfume, very light powdery aroma. Drydown is magical, tobacco with resinous touch of sweet benzoin and orris butter. I figure a luminous and almost metallic patina over tobacco.No gourmands here, or sickly sweetness. Just incredible! Now this again like all the other scents from odin is unisex, cant recommend this more! perfectly wearable and caressing such a pity they are discontinuing. By Odin standards, this is a bright, cheerful peachy-floral wrapped in sweet tobacco smoke. I imagine that if there were an artisanal, upscale version of those little fruit-flavored cigars that are sold in gas stations, this is what it would smell like. At the same time, there's just a bit of shampoo or cosmetics here - it's both smoky and clean. As others have noted, this is one is on the more feminine end of unisex. The longevity of Odin fragrances varies widely; on me, this one lasts forever. It might be a touch heavy for sweltering summer days, but is generally appropriate as a year-round fragrance.

Extremely feminine (definitely not unisex) floral-fruity number, which is light, transparent and ethereal. Pear blossom's delicate aroma matched with the juicy stone fruit accord of peach in the opening is breathtaking. Heady star jasmine mixed with sweet bourbon vanilla gives a warmth in the dry down. Lastly, powdery iris softens the edges, as if in a Monet impressionistic painting. As I am no expert in women's fragrances, I am not the best judge of its originality. Seems it would have success in the 20-30 something's female demographic. (53)

this is sweet and fruity all the way! a bit too sweet for me, though, but it IS an amazing smell... kinda draws comparisons to 'champaca absolute' by tom ford in that there is an underlying boozy element to it. can't put my finger on it, but there's an accord struck that gives off the illusion of rum or something equally boozy. similarly found in "212 VIP" by carolina herrera. great smell, just not me...

Posala is a lovely, bright floral. The jasmine reminds me of that used in Alien. Warm, clear, sunny. The peach is juicy & fragrant, all in all , a high quality, sweet floral, on a warm, amber heart. Nothing groundbreaking, but a lovely fragrance nonetheless.
