Oud Gourmand

What a misleading name! I don’t get any oud or gourmand vibes at all. Instead, this is a surprisingly captivating rose perfume. It’s not something I would typically go for, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance. This is a stunning leathery rose—perhaps with a hint of woodiness after all. And a smudge of jam. However, the rose dominates so strongly that it’s difficult to clearly pick out the other notes. It starts with a brief burst of citrusy freshness, but the rose and leather quickly take center stage. On my skin, there’s a little bit of oily sweetness, the fragrance delivers excellent projection, a velvety texture, and impressive longevity. Definitely one for rose lovers seeking something bold and unique.

Initially received it as a sample and was not super excited, since I don't like gourmand fragrances and I am not the biggest fan of oud. I was pleasantly surprised though. It is not over-the-top sickly sweet. It opens very citrusy and sweet but dries down to a more subtle sweet rose. Not sure why, but on me, the sillage is moderate at best, but that makes it good for layering on my skin. The longevity, on the other hand, is amazing. I sprayed it in the morning and after a long day and night, I could smell it over 24h later when I smelled my wrists. I think it's a good fragrance but it would not be my first choice to purchase. Especially if you are looking for a very gourmand-y perfume, this might not be for you. The notes say vanilla, caramel, and coconut milk, so you might expect a very sweet, creamy, dessert-like scent, but to me, this is not that at all. It is sweet alright, but definitely more rosey oud.

It smells ok. I don't get much scent at initial spray and then OUD slaps me in the face. It's a nice oud but that's all I get. I wish the gourmand aspects were more assertive. Definitely a going out at night scent for me with 1-2 sprays.

Sweet, very sweet leather oud with some rose. It’s nice and potent, you have to like very loud and potent in your face fragrances. Unisex leaning a touch masculine. will have to revisit during winter.
