Solution No.4

Recently got this fragrance at a fairly reduced price, but still my most expensive to date. (Fairly new to the world of fragrance collecting so still adjusting to my personal palate and certain notes so take that into account with my review) Personally for me the smell of tobacco punches through more than any other of the top and middle notes with the exception of the Eucalyptus. The Tonka bean is completely lost to me as well. Really recommend this to be worn for a night outing rather than an all day use fragrance but overall considering the hype and ridiculous prices Off-White used to charge I'm quite impressed with this.

A bright clean wooden-citrusy fragrance, that's non-offensive, more informal, laid-back, great for on-the-job, unisex, but slightly male leaning. I'm hit first by the black tea notes, then by sweet and clean papery papyrus/bamboo/light-tobacco, then by soft leather and a dominating bright almost citrusy palo santo harmonizing with creamy sandalwood. If the smell were a color i'd say it would be beige.

I bought this completely on impulse, based on the bottle, and I would say I’m completely in love with this, the scent starts off bight and clean and develops a soothing warmth as it sits on the skin. I think this scent will work best in the fall winter and spring seasons, I do plan on trying to wear this during the summer months, but I think this will be to strong in the heat and combined with sweat.

It’s winter you wake up in a cabin with fresh linen and cozy flannel sheets, in Northern California. A wood stove fire from the night before fills the air with a beautiful smoke smell. You open the window and a crisp breeze brings the smell of eucalyptus into the wood cabin. You cuddle up with your love on a big Restoration Hardware leather couch that’s slightly worn. Initially- eucalyptus, vetiver, oud, faint jasmine, leather, cinder block On skin dry down- Lighter oud, leather, grapefruit peel, campfire, sandalwood, faint amber, pencil led, lemon verbena. An hour later a pleasant lemon, white floral, herbal accord delicately emerges from the base leather, smoke and sandalwood creating a skin scent that is sexy and charming. This is a warm cozy sophisticated masculine leaning unisex fragrance. It’s natural and woodsy but could be worn by an indie loving college aged hipster, a put together entrepreneur in a wool suit or an outdoorsy beaded guy. I think this is a well balanced and blended fragrance. Some may find it simple or confusing because of the simultaneous oud/ smoke leather mixed with a clean feel. The performance is decent. Initially I thought this was a winter fragrance but as the dry down opens floral and citrus, I think it’s good for all seasons. Definitely has a distinct appeal and is not generic. Some may find it smells like a modern high end men’s clothing store. Skews modern not older or vintage. Slightly masculine for my taste, will try layering with white floral or lavender, and likely pass it on to my boyfriend. Cool bottle. 7/10

I surprisingly keep going back to this fragrances more than #2. Maybe it's because it's fall now but the scent is very pleasant. Sandalwood is very prominent for me and after it dries down I get Tonka beans and light leather scent. I am very excited to wear this during the colder days as I think it will be very "comforting" of a scent. I have been layering #2 and #4 since it's cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. Again the big seller is the bottle and the design for me but this seems the most "worth" it for me. Sprayed about 3-4 times and it lasted me about 6 hrs after a day in the office.

light papery sandalwood that made me think of papyrus at first but that could also have just been because i was reading the “paperwork” lettering. tinged with eucalyptus, fig, tea, & leather that combine to create an uneasy other aftertaste that cant be specifically identified.

Good soup. Settles into a nice fragrance somewhere in the mix of santal 33, papyrus moleculaire, tam dao, gris charnel, etc. If you like these, this is incredibly safe blind buy. At the moment you can pick up a 100ml for £27 so really a no brainer.

Smells wonderful but seems unnecessary if you already own Dior Fahrenheit.

The initial hit from this fragrance is certainly the tobacco and the tea notes. To start with, this is very powerful, almost headache inducing. The tobacco to begin with smells like very poor quality cigarette smoke. You need to give this fragrance a good thirty minutes to settle down. After that, the fig and eucalyptus come through to make an interesting fragrance. I got mine very cheap so will use on clothes and spray prior to leaving the house or layer with a fruity or vanilla scent to mask that intial harshness. For others, I can imagine this scent would be very divisive and not blind buy safe at all.

I’m so sad that one of Virgil Abloh’s last creative ventures was making 4 garbage fragrances. This was the best of the lot but that’s not saying much at all. They are all sooo been there, done that. Each of the 4 options I smelled were disappointing. It’s as if Off White cloned Zara perfumes and slapped a $180 price tag on them! So emblematic of the laziness of creativity that consumes perfumery at the moment. Who ever told Virgil that these were good enough to put his name on, should be fired! If u want to support off white and u want one of these meh creations, go with this one. It’s Santal 33 without the quality but it smells nice!

Surprised no one’s mentioned the similarity to Gris Charnel EDP. That light woody fig black tea note is what i pick up for most of it. To my nose the leather and tobacco sit at the end but not really in your face, mellowed out by the palo santo and sandalwood.

Directly comparing this to santal 33, no, its not that. My sample smells very different. Defiantly not another 13, has very little similar with Fahrenheit. This seems to be its own thing to me, not very much like the fragrances others claim are close.

smelled all 4 in the off white store, this one was clearly the standout. It’s very sexy. reminds me of Santal 33 mixed with the good parts of Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous. Considering a FB.

Spicier Gris Charnel with cool breeze opening. Also, the woody note is very reminiscent of Papyrus Moliecullaire Maison Crivelly. Very well done and classy, very sophisticated.

This reminds me of Skins x Vilhelm. Beautiful but I only smelt a tester in store so I'll try to get a sample to wear all day to check if the sillage and longevity is the same
