Solar Flair

Yes - this smells on initial blast like a pretty girl should be wearing this on a day out, BUT this has the musk DNA that a confident guy can totally rock this. Plus a wise man once said (my dad) "I dont know what it is about smelling a little like a lady but it drives other women wild" - and in testing out scents like this - I admit, on this, I agree. Smells like fresh, citrus musk DNA that just works. I love the backbone of it. Ex Nihilo did the same DNA with Blue Talisman...citrus, flower of citrus, musk & freshness a zing of ginger added. Marc Gebauer did it with the sleeper Orange Flamingo. Look up each one of those on this site and they are over 4 in ratings and talked about. I like this scent for all seasons as each season is going to bring out a new facet. I recommend this for layering as well. When used with a heavier wood or musk base it makes it even more bodied and meant for gents ( Arabian Oud Al Fareed and this scent combine to create FIRE) Great price. Great scent. Decent longevity .(4-6 hours) and projection within an arms length for at least 2 hours.

This is a complex and truly stunning fragrance. It starts with a sharp, honey-sweet citrus - not a freshy in any way - more of a candied citrus. Then it slowly dries down to a soft, powdery-sweet, cozy, fluffy vanilla. I am 7+ hours into my day and it's still going strong. I have a full bottle and then a travel spray which I carry with me to freshen up. But the drydown is so gorgeous, I always hesitate to respray because I'll lose that fluffy softness I earned throughout the day. Either way, this is a unique addition to my collection. I have heard people say it is a summer scent, but don't let the name fool you. This is Fall/Winter for me all the way. On another note, I see a lot of people comparing this to Amouge Guidance - I am definitely NOT Team Guidance. I can't wear Guidance for even a minute without getting nauseous. Guidance 46 is not much better. This is nothing like either one IMO.

i’m in love with this. before i describe the scent, i want to describe the vibe briefly. this is modern, but it has this beautifully classic, clean, refined composition. it’s also somewhat transformative and changes on my skin. it opens with bright citrus that dries down to a gorgeous honeyed osmanthus and honeysuckle with a healthy dose of pink pepper. the patchouli is present in a delicately earthy way, but never overpowers any of the other notes; it’s in the backdrop. the honey here is a natural floral honey, never gourmand. after some time, this airy vanilla emerges as the florals set beside it. this is a perfect spring wear, the florals may sit to heavily in the cold. i can imagine wearing this with the sun shining on my skin, a gentle breeze passing that wafts the honeyed florals through the air around me. bliss

This is an absolutely wonderful, uplifting and complex fragrance. It opens with the Osmanthus note very present, reminding me very much of Amouage's Sunshine Woman, but without the white tobacco note. Then as it dries down, it goes through different stages and takes me on a journey. Towards the end there's something beautifully sweet and floral, perhaps a combination of vanilla, orange blossom and honeysuckle. This part reminds me slightly of Tilia by Marc Antoine Barrois. It's not a loud fragrance and I would say the projection is modest, but it is quite long lasting especially as a skin scent it goes on for hours. This is very beautiful, reasonable priced and is fast becoming a favourite warm weather fragrance.

Smells like sunshine in a bottle. As soon as you spray it, you get a burst of fresh, zingy mandarin and pink peppercorn, with a hint of soft floral‐powdery notes. It’s bright, a little spicy, and very easy to wear. In the mid, there’s a creamy mix of honeysuckle, osmanthus, and patchouli—it’s floral but never too heavy or cloying. As it settles, it turns warmer and slightly sweeter, with a gentle touch of vanilla in the base. While the comparisons to Guidance make sense, this feels much brighter and airier, so it’s worth sampling even if Guidance didn’t work for you.

🌿 Solar Flair is pure golden light and kinda glad it's been kept a hidden gem. Juicy fruit in the opening, then osmanthus and honeysuckle bring a soft honeyed sweetness that never tips into cloying. I bought this recently, and it’s my first Ojar perfume since I’m an Amouage enthusiast. It reminds me of Amouage Guidance, but it’s actually a better version—softer and much more elegant. I’d love to discover more from the Ojar brand; it’s very impressive.

Beautiful honeyed floral that is not overly sweet thanks to the pink pepper and a subdued patchouli. Lovely white musk in the dry down. Our fragrance shop sold out quickly so I snapped up a bottle when they got more in.

Ok now I understand why people say this is similar to "Guidance (Eau de Parfum) | Amouage".... "Solar Flair | Ojar" doesn’t live up to the hype for me. It’s nice, but I’m disappointed by it. It lacks originality. I was expecting “Sunshine in a bottle” and wanted to smell the listed notes, but instead all I smell is a less vibrant Guidance minus the nuttiness. I personally find Solar Flair a bit weaker, less balanced and duller/flatter in comparison. "Guidance (Eau de Parfum) | Amouage" is the winner for me as I feel it’s has a little bit more of a luminance and uniqueness about it. I carried out a little experiment out of curiosity. I applied one spray of Guidance to my left arm and one spray of Solar Flair to my right arm before leaving for work at 5:30pm. I haven’t topped up either. It’s now almost 3am and both scents are still going strong. I asked my partner and a few colleagues to blindly compare both. All agreed these were very similar, but they all found Solar Flair to be stronger. It’s funny comparing the difference in ratings for both considering this. Only one person out of the 5 people I asked preferred Solar Flair. If you’re looking at Solar Flair, expecting it to smell like the note pyramid and already know what Guidance smells like, I think like me you’ll be disappointed. It’s impossible to deny the close similarities. If you liked Guidance but disliked the hazelnut note, Solar Flair is the one for you.

I recognize that scent experience is deeply personal and subjective—but for those wondering how Solar Flair compares to fragrances like Impadia or Guidance, as some compared or mentioned, I’d say they’re simply in different olfactory genres. Solar Flair is something else entirely—bright, juicy, and decidedly radiant. This is a fragrance that opens with an exuberant burst of sweet, sun-kissed fruit—playful yet polished. It wasn’t love at first sniff for me. Initially, But over time, it’s grown on me. There’s a soft warmth and luminous quality in the dry-down that really draws you in and keeps you coming back for another sniff. It’s cheerful, uplifting, and carries an easy elegance—perfect for days when you want something that feels optimistic and luminous, like bottled sunshine.

Very warm and sunny. To me, it doesn't really smell of honey but more of flowers in their prime bloom, full of nectar, pollen and an almost over-ripe, lush sweetness. The sweetness is very round and soft, not sticky or sharp like some other fragrances in the "sweet" category. It's soothing and creamy and would in fact be amazing as a body lotion -- a high quality, well-blended body lotion. That being said also highlights the issue that the fragrance might not be as "niche" as you might expect from the brand and pricetag. As others have pointed out, it's a crowdpleaser, blind-buy, gift fragrance.

I tried this today. It is not Guidance. It is in its own category. To me, this is more spicy whereas Guidance feels more woody. I would say this is closer to Guidance 46. This has a patchouli sillage where Guidance does not. I don’t consider this bright and sunny either. It is thick. It has great sillage. It has fruit. It is quite good. If you want sunny try Deliziosa. Is this FB worthy? I say yes. Just don’t expect it to be Guidance and evaluate it for what it offers.

the opening is gorgeous, the bright juicy mandarin orange really balances out the warm honeyed florals. The dry down is more a a true honey musk. Very lovely, Solar Flair is wearable for all seasons an is well blended and feminine. While not especially unique I enjoy the scent's suede like texture (perhaps from the osmanthus) and just the right amount of sweetness, without being cloying. In the same universe as Summer Street by Brandt, though I much prefer Solar Flair!

This smells like a designer fragrance. It’s very crowd pleasing, but it’s blended nicely. It has a nectar essence (Osmanthus) & the white flowers aren’t cloying. I was afraid of the honey note but it isn’t too loud and pronounced. I don’t get vanilla at all. Also the pink pepper is very dominant. It lasts throughout the entire wear. I’ll give this a like for now until I spend more time with my sample.

It opens with a realistic honey note that fades within the first minute, leaving behind a musky, slightly sweet scent. It’s a very comfortable fragrance, and I can definitely see the resemblance to Guidance, while Guidance feels more “nuclear,” this comes across as the friendlier, softer version. It wears smoothly on the skin, is long-lasting, but tends to sit close.

The honey with the florals makes this the best in the Ojar line with the yellow bottles. Performance is solid. Unisex but feminine leaning . Addictive. The kind of scent that has you sniffing the empty decant bottle for weeks.

Sweet, floral, creamy vanilla, airy and fluffy. I really don’t like honey notes in perfume but I can’t really smell it here except for a little warmness as it dries down. This is an easy reach scent. Not something I would usually go for but pleasant nonetheless. IG/Tiktok: @wilddew_vibes

The opening is ok. However, the longer it stays on my skin, the more I want to scrub it off. Something unnatural about it gives me a headache. I guess to this point I just don't click with the Givaudan DNA...

01/24 Crowd-pleasing, sweet and mostly inoffensive. Easy and warm. Not groundbreaking or interesting to me

I just sprayed this on and immediately voted down the resemblance to guidance. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that. However, now that it has dried down for a bit I can see the faintest resemblance when I really stick my nose into it. There is indeed something there that is slightly reminiscent of guidance. I love guidance so I for sure don’t mind. Just gave this one a one spray test on my hand and so far so good, really liking what it gives! I agree with the reviewer below that this is not really a summer scent (despite its name). It’s quite thick and heavy so this would be too much in summer heat. But it’s a beautiful pick me up scent for the winter. Full day wear test tomorrow! I can see this one going on my wish list.

I can understand the comparison to Guidance. This must use an aroma-chemical that’s also in Guidance, Impadia, Santal 33 and Santal Calling. To me, all of these fragrances have a similar underlying smell that makes me think of ‘molecular pickles.’ If you’re sensitive to that smell, you might notice it in Solar Flair as well. It’s less pronounced in this and somewhat fresher (more like cucumber), but I still notice it. While I know this isn’t a very good or in depth review, hopefully it helps someone else avoid a blind buy fail.

I truly think Solar Flar by Ojar is fantistic after receiving my sample. My first impression was that it reminded me of Hermes Ambre Narguile but on the drydown i thought not so much. Will purchase a full bottle this week...

smells like a crossover between Guidence and Sunshine by Amouage ! With a noticable beachy note , which makes the word "solar" in the name very suitable ! Very beautiful and distinguishable scent

Reminds me A LOT of Sol de Janiero ‘40. Bright and Sunny with sweet, chewy depth. Yummy! Seems like a super safe summer blind buy. I get more apricot than mandarin.

They definitely were inspired by Guidance with this one. I don't know how they did it but the sillage reminds me so much of Guidance. Gorgeous fragrance.

This is a nice honey scent. It layers beautifully with Kayali’s Deja Vu White Flower.

One of the newer surprises of this 2025. Very nice perfume.
