Sea Salt & Fig

I'm enthralled. Wow. This just goes to show that you don't need to be loaded to smell like you are. I did a cursory sniff of the fragrances offered at Old Navy, and this was by far my favorite, although there are definitely decent options beside this. But my immediate impression was - 'Wow! This smells like a more casual Womanity.', the notes are on point. Its salty, and figgy, but less of a humongous deal than Womanity and it takes less commitment to wear for a day. It's a mineral smelling perfume, and it does smell like a mild, refreshing sea brine...which I adore (I'm from the PNW and live near the beach). It's cold, and I think this would be amazingly refreshing during the summer. And I do smell a bit of bergamot I the opening, although it fades quickly. I really loved it, and my mom insisted on purchasing it for me, so I gratefully accepted 🥰 🌊

I had this perfume in college and thought it had been discontinued - someone told me they just repackaged it and I went to go buy another and I love it just as much. It’s so beautiful, it smells like a day at the beach. It’s one of the most accurate sea salt fragrances I’ve ever smelled and for 14$, the quality is actually really good. It lasts around 6 hours on me, and the silage is moderate to intimate, which is preferred for me. It smells almost like if you sweat while wearing a fig lotion which I know isn’t for everyone, but I really love it. Absolutely worth a smell. I do wish it lasted a little longer, but it’s such a beautiful almost skin scent that I’ll deal with that :)

This is lovely, but I can't believe citrus is not listed as a note. It was there in the top. This also is a touch floral. It's fig but not a ripe juicy sweet fig and not the sharp nose-tingling fig. A little fig, more fig leaf, citrus and lots of salt though it is not a weak, watery aquatic. It's so rich that it doesn't even really register as aquatic. I would call this an evening scent. I wish it had stayed bright and beautiful like in the top. The final drydown was very woody. Like driftwood. And very masculine.

$12 of AWESOMENESS!!! Finally found some at one of the Old Navy's near me. I heard it has been discontinued, it has been very hard to find. I bought 3 bottles that were left. It's not mindblowing or anything, but it's very clean and fresh and smells great. I still smell it on my hand now after 4 and a half hours. I got pretty good sillage the first 1 and a half to 2 hours. If you are able to find it, it's well worth the price for a $12 EDP concentration of fragrance. I'm loving it. I highly recommend it.

FYI, this is still being sold at Old Navy under the brand O.N.L.Y. (Old Navy Loves You). You can get 30 ml for a super reasonable price! And yes, as someone who owns both I can say this is like 97% similar to Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. This one has a touch more earthy sweetness, I’m assuming from the fig, but it’s definitely close enough to scratch that itch for me. Great for all occasions and especially in the spring and summer.

For the price and to my taste this is the best aquatic ive tried to date. Its like the best parts of Fico di Amalfi and JMs woodsage+seasalt had a baby. The longevity is really good and i cant smell whatever cheap synthetic they used to do it. No calone thank god TLDR it smells like that fresh fig accord youve smelled a million times before and sea salt. Thats it

Still testing this one out... it's a nice clean scent... slightly reminds me of that fresh-out-the-shower scent. I can't attest to the longevity just yet... but seems to linger longer on clothing rather than skin, at least for me. Enjoying the scent nevertheless... will update once I have more experience with scent!

love love loveeeee. as a beginner fragrance person this is my signature! cheap, fresh, delicious. the salt makes it skin like. this is wearing linen on a mediterranean beach with a fig in ur hand. strangely complex, simply beautiful. if ur debating buying this, do it !

I've been searching for a fresh sea salt for a long time on the cheap, found it. This is a great little freshie with moderate longevity, it's fine cuz it's cheap. I will go thru a few bottles cuz the scent is on point!

This smells great. But mix it with Guerlain Homme parfum and you make a compliment monster...works GREAT!

Sea Salt & Fig, a bargain fragrance sold under the brand Kindred Goods at Old Navy stores at $12 for a 30ml EDP bottle, was once very trendy within the past couple of years, and though its buzz has waned a bit, I finally got around to trying it and picking up a bottle a month ago, and I can safely agree that it merits its good reputation. Its name is appropriate, as it’s a fresh salty, semi-aquatic, semi-fruity fragrance with fig and woods adding a little bit of heft to the salt water opening. And even though like most inexpensive fragrances, much of the pizzazz and loud projection is in the opening minutes—maybe half-hour—Sea Salt & Fig retains a reasonable density, albeit at a fairly modest projection, for hours thereafter. It’s really a decent performer overall, not just for the value. Usage-wise, it’s predictably a versatile player for warm-weather day wearing and relaxation around the house. It’s not particularly dressed-up or serious, but that’s hardly what it’s meant or good for. It simply strikes me as offering something that most designer cheapies or offerings at Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop don’t: a fresh and semi-fruity creation that feels well-put-together and performs decently well. Even though the 100ml pricing would be $40 at the same rate, I like that it’s offered in the useful 30ml flight-friendly travel size, as well. Certainly I’d recommend trying this one if you haven’t, as I find it to be an easy winner, and I should pick up a backup bottle or a bottle just to stash at work as soon as possible. 7 out of 10

Got this because I heard it was a cheap alternative to Pacific Rock Moss (which I actually really like). It's good for the price and definitely very similar to PRM, but I would say it's only about an 85% match, and PRM has the edge for me. The citrus in PRM is stronger than the fig in SS&F, which makes the SS&F seem to lack some depth in comparison, and PRM has better projection and longevity. SS&F is still worth the $12, but I haven't decided yet whether I want to use it to fully replace PRM in my library. Edit: After further use, I should add that the sillage of Sea Salt & Fig is super weak, even after 4 sprays. So it's hard to say that $12 for 30ml isn't worth it, but I probably won't be buying this again.

It's a little more complex that the notes imply, as sea salt & Fig. But for the most part... Clean, fresh aquatic with a slight salty ocean vibe with a hit of sweet Fig. On my Skin I actually get some good life out of this easily lasting 6 hours. I usually see 9-10 hours of life. Thanks to it being a EDP. However it does not project very much, and it's a skin scent after about 2-3 hours. Honestly, retail is $12 for 30ml. I'm impressed with it. I got 3 bottles for $30 so I just distributed then (home, car, office) and use it for freshening up.

I used to like this but now I find it cloying. Fig has a great balsamic scent but I don't like it in combination with the woody/marine/salt accord. To me it's absolutely too strong for wearing in the summer. I find it to be masculine. Crazy how your nose or preferences can change quickly. At least this one wasn't a big investment. Overall this scent is fine, you'll smell good if you wear it. I just don't want to smell it on myself anymore!

Lovely creamy-powder scent. I don't detect anything salty. Very strong projection. Maybe I'm just not all that familiar with modern perfumery's version of "fig." Though I have heard people describe fig as creamy. Sweet, pleasant powder and cream. I was confused by the name but it was a nice scent. A little strong for my taste. I am curious about the others because of the impressive longevity and sillage!

Fresh and clean. Salty and marine. No sweetness for me. Too sharp in cooler weather but perfect for hot, sticky, summer days. Lasts a few hours on clothing. Great for the gym as well. Unisex for sure. Good value and inoffensive. Edit: In the high heat of summer the sweet figs are very intense. Great lasting power as well. With the intense marine note I feel like this is a better perfume on my husband.

This is juicy fig sprinkled with a touch of sea salt--in that order. I picked this up for a fresh summer scent that's not the generic citrus/woodsy aquatic (e.g. D&G Light Blue) and this fits the bill--for beans! I'm excited to wear this for summer. I've layered this with Davidoff's Good Life and it's amazing. Will likely repurchase if they keep it around for the $12/oz price tag.

This perfume is really interesting. It's a bit sweet off the first spray and very salty, but the salt gives way to a woody, slightly spiced marine scent. I smelled all the other old navy offerings while I was there and this was the only one that caught my eye. Lasts about 5-6 hours on my skin, and for 50 cents/ml that's not bad at all.

Mourning this perfume T_T I used to use it every day but recently they must've changed the recipe because now it smells completely different. What used to be a lovely and gentle long lasting sea salt scent has been swapped for something cloyingly sweet and sugary. I'm so sad :(

This has unlisted aquatic notes that have hints of florals and fruits. I'm getting less of the fig out of it, but it's a multifaceted fresh (albeit cheap and synthetic) scent. Not mind-blowingly good, but something you can wear around the house or on vacation to feel fresh.

an actually fantastic cheapie. very simple, just the seafoam smell with a bit of greenery and sweetness from the figs (i suspect both leaves and fruit). could totally layer it up or wear as-is for those low-key beach days with your family.

A $15 (CAD) dupe for Sh**ty Day by NOYZ with a salty dry down. What a steal—that’s one of my favourite perfumes! However, it's incredibly weak, disappearing on my clothes almost as soon as I spray it.

I saw this in the Old Navy at the mall this past weekend. I love a good fig note so I sprayed it on immediately. The initial spray was a clean and sweet fig scent and I was digging it. Unfortunately, after about an hour all the figginess was gone and I was left with something that reminded me of a very pleasant room freshener. It didn't smell bad, just not something I'd want to wear. Glad I had a chance to sample it, though.

Just not for me, but most aquatics aren't. The fig is nice, but I just don't understand the fragrance world's interpretation of the way water smells. I love the way the beach smells, this just doesn't evoke any memories of saltwater for me.

Cheap. synthetic stuff. Don't waste your 12 bucks!

Bought this today because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I now wish I had never sprayed this stuff. First off, this stuff performs amazingly. Too amazingly... It is so overpowering i want to barf. I have it sprayed on my hands and I can’t wash it off! Even at full arms length I am still being smothered by this cheap sweet garbage. I’m practically addicted to unique fresh scents so I had to try this one out. It smelled pretty decent at first, almost good enough to wear. Now it’s turned into this sickeningly sweet, fabric softner/room spray smell. It has ceased to be even remotely fresh at this point. I just farted and it was a relief for my nose. If I ever get the courage to try this again I will certainly only use half a spray and spray it from at least 2 metres away. The first 40 min of this (before i became sick) wasn’t bad, and the performance is clearly amazing, so try it for yourself at your own risk. Who knows, maybe I’m just sensitive. 4/10

I made a trip specifically to Old Navy to test this fragrance. I am a huge fig fruit fan and I wanted to see Old Navy's take on a "fig" note. Sea Salt & Fig is a very masculine scent. It starts out with this blast of humid, ocean air to your nose. The fig fruit is green and unripe but VERY FAR in the background. It's not fruity, but very green. The blast of humid, ocean air morphs in a salt accord with a heavy smokey nuance and the green, unripe fig becomes a little more noticeable. I can't stress enough that the fig fruit plays a very minor role in this fragrance, but again, it's in the background and is not the traditional "fruity" scent. As simple as it is, Sea Salt & Fig would stand out in a crowd. The sea salt just radiates "savoury" all over you. It's alluring and pulls you in. The greenness of the fig gives this fragrance some legs to stand on. This would be a great fragrance for a guy who's not that serious about fragrances and just wants something simple to wear. If you're a woman and genderbending is your thing (I do it, too!), then more power to you! It's a "salty sea air" scent with some smokiness and greenness to it. The name of this scent matches it perfectly.

This is a nice aquatic fragrance that can be found at Old Navy for $15 a bottle. It smells just like its name, of salty seawater sweetened by a prominent fig note. Overall it smells somewhat like Jo Malone' Wood, Sage, and Sea Salt but with an added fig note to it. It also smells somewhat like Atelier Colognes' Figuer Ardent but without the green notes. Apparently it smells similar to an expensive niche fragrance known as Pacific Rock Moss as well, but I've never smelled that to be certain. It's totally unisex. Projection however is on the lighter side while longevity is just ok at about 3 hours of good projection. But I can't complain for $15, and the scent itself is very nice. 4/5

There are sooo many ghost notes in this. Definitely moss, maybe sage and/or cypress. A citrus for sure, either lemon or grapefruit, and enough of some white floral so that it feels unisex rather than specifically masculine--I'd guess neroli and a touch of jasmine. The salt is noticeable, but I love a good hit of salt. What I DON'T love is when an oversweet perfume is given a dose of salt "for balance" and it takes on an unpleasant oversaturated tang (see fine'ry Mystic Fig'ures). That's not the case with this at all. It feels refined and lovely. I could see similarities to a room spray, if I squint--but dang, how gorgeous would that room smell?!

I seen where many talked and reviewed how good this is but they no longer made it. I was in Myrtle Beach at a Old Navy Outlet and to my surprise they had several bottles. I snatched two and a bottle of the body midst. This has a simple salt & fig scent that to me is Acqua fresh. For $12 a bottle why not pick up a good summer fresh scent. My only regret is I’d wish I got the lotion. I’ve since seen it in my local Old Navy so I’m thinking this must be a seasonal fragrance that is still being produced. I get a solid 6 hrs from this with about one arms Sillage. Don’t hesitate, if you see it; get it!

Sea salt and Fig. There isn’t anything more to say about this cutie. It’s cheap, it sticks and it smells wonderful. I hate Old Navy with a passion but this is so clean and well done. From the other reviews I see it is being discontinued which is a real shame. I bought the hand lotion, bath bomb, hair mist and cologne. It is intoxicating and I love to scent linens especially with this. It lasts a ridiculous amount on fabrics.

It does smell real fig, and sea-like. I like it after it dries down - it smells really real figs... but then when that smell goes away, which usually takes about an hour on me, there is the sea salt and some clearly masculine notes left, so I feel a bit ambiguous about this one... I think it's a scent that a man would easily be able to wear, but not sure how well suited this is for me, who is not a man

If you like Hanami from Phlur, you will love this, and what a bargain in comparison. I liberally doused myself (and my spouse) with this today. I think it dries down to a little more candy (unless it is my lip gloss I smell, lol). Beautiful unisex scent, salty and creamy. The color is white. Clean. Divine in the cool air. What a cheapie treat, and you can get lotion and body/hair mist too.

This stuff is in the same genre as Philosykos or Fico di Amalfi. It's probably closer to Demeter's Fig Leaf, which is a better value. Not sure where everyone is getting a powdery vibe from. This is straight up fig with a little saltiness. If you're a guy, you should be comfy with unisex fragrances, as this is not that masculine. This is good for really hot summer days.

After reading the reviews I went for it with no luck. I thought it was discontinued till I found it today. What if I tell you it's only 8 bucks?. Perfect little Christmas present for myself! Synthetic? yes. Do I care? no. I can't get much of the fig but to my weird nose it's a very sharp citrus. Perfect for hot Summer days.

Of the three, I was most drawn to this one. It was a marine scent, reminding me of Demeter's Salt Air (one of my favorites). Can't comment on the fig as I am not familiar with how that should smell. It seems to be a quality scent, and a quick spritz of a tester lasted the afternoon.

I enjoy this aquatic scent ... with a woody, driftwood dry down. but with a sweetness kinda like hay or sweet grass and candy figs ..similar to Jo Malone wood sage salt , also Olivinia Capri fig and amber roll on. which I love. Better price than JM

I tried this and loved it! It's a clean, fruity scent and screams "summer." I sprayed it on at about 3:00 and it's 9:30 now and I still smell it. It's addicting, and I'm kicking myself for not buying it.

This perfume is still available at old navy, just in new packaging. Anywho, this is a lovely fresh juicy salty fig fragrance! As long as it’s available for $14 I’ll keep this in my collection

Simple, figgy goodness. Thankfully, no coconut angle. For what it costs, it’s very well done, and not a million miles away from Philosykos (which admittedly, is a more complex scent).

This is one of my most complimented fragrances. A friend of mine told me I smelled amazing and couldn't believe it was just from Old Navy. I plan to buy her a bottle for Christmas.

This is still available in stores as of July 2020. I smell bergamot in this, and something else that is quite herbal. I don't smell much of a juicy fig to be honest!

aaaa bit just a bit aquatic/metallic on the 5mins then.. Powdery soapy projects for 2 hours 6 hours skin scent masculine but barely... Kinda ck one unisex

The name Sea Salt & Fig sums up the scent pretty well. You get fig, a hint of salty water, and a soft base of wood and musk.

Didn't like this one. I guess I'm not big on fig+ salty notes.

Wow, Pacific Rock Moss for 12 dollars. Can't be beat.
