Leather Shot

wonderful wooow! this masterpiece is wonderfully long lasting and have a wondrous projection along side with very nice and charming leathery scent which combined with something between musk and sandalwood(for me) and a little cumin & cardamon which isn't so spicy all in all this could be one of most popular softly and peaceful leathery fragrance which could be made just by the Lord Bertrand Duchaufour. Postscript: after one or two years using this wonderful perfume I could say the Cardamom is most dominant note here. a Cardamom combined with tea and leather. another important point is that you must wearing "leather shot" in the spring for getting best feedback and performance.

A very refined French leather, reminiscent of Eau d’Hermès, with a significant link to Déclaration by Cartier. This is fine milled leather handbag, saturated in woody musks. The tea and iris notes are absolute gorgeous and make this a dreamy, abstract watercolour in mood. This is not challenging or animalic at all. I think the reviewers below who say this doesn’t smell like leather only have Tuscan Leather as a benchmark. Expand your knowledge people.

To me, it feels like this perfume was created accidentally by spilling a tea and iris based perfume in some very expensive leather handbag. Very clean leather, not smoky or dirty, supported by tea and iris(?!)(I would say more carrot seed than iris) It smells relaxing, but also confident and expensive. Longevity and sillage are OK.

A very refined spicy iris, a crystal clear flower playing cold-warm - cardamom cools things down (Power by Kenzo) while cumin heats things up. The animality of the cumin show the path to the the leather, decidedly uptown; elegant, velvety, with a touch of tanned hide that keeps it from overt mannered cosmetics. Beautiful

My colleague which is a mature man wears it in our office and all the office smells like him for 3 hours! This has quite strong sillage and i see girls complimenting him all the time. First time i smelled it in a store it did not smell very elegant to my nose honestly but when my colleague puts it on i like it on him.

It's like stepping into an opulent space for the first time, where the scent of a plush leather couch and the anticipation of an important meeting fill the air. The fragrance opens with a strong composition, offering completely new vibes dominated by floral chords. Interestingly, it lacks the expected animalic leather notes, setting it apart from traditional leather scents. However, the initial grandeur fades as the perfume dries down, transforming into a scent reminiscent of a childhood bug spray. This unexpected turn is a deal-breaker, shifting from a luxurious aura to a less desirable memory. Leather Shot finds its stride in colder weather, where its strength is tempered by the chill. Caution is advised against overspraying, as it can become overwhelming. It's a scent that had the potential for greatness but ultimately misses the mark, making it a risky choice for a blind buy. The performance is decent, but the overall experience is a rollercoaster of highs and lows. 🥀🚫

I like this fragrance. What pops to me is carrot seed blended with cardamom (the husks/shells), and very distinct cumin accompanies them, but all of them are featured in a “waxy” way, as if the leather is muffled through a blanket of soy wax. It gives a slight illusion of buttery aspect of orris. I like the Wood Wick milky-woody soy candles and Leather Shot appeals to me in a similar fashion. It’s as if I rubbed a high-end candle on my skin and the ingredients are radiating slowly and quietly under soft silky layers of thick soy wax. I like it and if it weren’t for the cumin note, the idea of it is somewhat masculine in my book. The rest of the composition isn’t something which would make me feel feminine wearing it on public, so for now I’ll keep enjoying it at home from the sample I have, until I make a final decision. Despite the leather in the notes, if you close your eyes and try to get a feel for the fragrance, it’s actually peppery, spicy. My impression is of chai masala with no cloves, but with black pepper (or white peppercorns), lots of allspice and natural freshly ground nutmeg on top of the usual cardamom etc... Imagine you boil all this with your assam, and smell it just before you pour the milk. Update: by the time I finished my sample I was sold on it. I needed more and got me so. It’s very soft and unique and I haven’t smelt anything quite like it. Autumn woolen overcoat would feel even more elegant and cosy in this scent. A brief partial overview: If you like this one, try also Iris Shot from the same house. I own these two and I’m very happy how they work in the winter. Iris Shot is creamy, woodsy, soft and slightly nutty. Visually it evokes soft grey suede with iris powdered over almond flower. It’s woodsy, but almost milky. Like sandalwood decorated with irises, drifting in a pool of condensed milk. After you inevitably fall for Iris Shot, try Violet Shot next :)) it’s too sweet for me and maybe a decant will be just enough, but it’s is so cozy and fluffy nevertheless, if you are into woodsy violets - that’s the one. Vanilla Shot is for those who like Perris Monte Carlo’s Vanille de Tahiti (natural, dense, heavy because it may feel a bit poopy), but here it’s going in quite a masculine direction in the drydown. Rose Shot - a bit too screechy for me; good quality; didn’t spend much time understating it because it started bothering me.

Leather Shot is an animalic leather. It opens with a heady, guttural animalic nuance, with an abrasive texture to it like incense. It's chiefly a smell you will find in many Indie works—hard to describe by any other terms—but is very bold and offensive. The collective fragrance is very crude, simple, and doesn't come off as much time was put into it at all. Juxtapose with the name, one would think "Leather Shot" was intended to symbolize that the fragrance is like a turd—that shoots out of the butthole and into the toilet. That was my first impression of this fragrance upon spraying it on. As the fragrance unfolds, you get a bit of the cosmetic Iris emerging from beneath this. I think it wants to be artistic, but people don't really find this note appealing, so much as it is something they just blindly tolerate. Someone really must have really spent a lot of time on drugs lost in the perfume lab, to seriously conceive that this was artistic. There actually is a bit of leather in this, but it's seemingly impossible to get indoors. I had to take it outside (for good measure—as I always like to do). It's a very fresh leather, appealing even. But you might only be able to catch it for a moment, and that doesn't really make it worth covering yourself in all this muck for. Sadly, the same can be said for nearly every work this house has released it seems. After sampling a number of them, it's like the owner has amassed a collection of making the world smell her ass. As an experienced man I am bewildered. Odd, but gracious Madam—I present you my fist. I hope it is to your preference—an obvious Size Queen.

Rough leather! This is a harsh cowboy style leather with huge doses of cumin, sour driftwood. It's like the cardamom, orange bitter herbal note added to driftwood. This is the kind "Al Oudh" by L'Artisan minus the dates and any sweetness, also i am getting a similar type of animalic as i got in "Montecristo" by Masque but way less than in Montecresto as i believe Montecresto is skunk rather than animalic. I believe "Bertrand" had regained his creativity after stagnation period of nothing new creations. Nice.

This opens boozy and spicy on me. Then the leather comes in while holding the spice hostage. It is still bright (bitter orange influence here), somehow, and powerful. It exudes confidence. The dry down still has leather but the woods come in. The more I wear it, the more I love it. It's perfectly unisex leather, with a touch of iris lurking. It's interesting, I don't wear leather. It doesn't suit my personality but this, somehow, is perfectly aligned with my DNA. It's sexy and bold but not loud. Love.

Woody, leathery, green with some subtle soapy vibes. Maybe a body wash old spice would make. It's not bad but it's not that good. It just is.
