Rose Shot

As I swinged through my local niche boutique today, SA, hearing I'm into rose, brought it out for sniffing... and here I am completely obsessed sniffing my wrist for the 2nd hour ;)... big big intoxicating slightly oily rose scent with the help of something that I suppose is elemi adding piney freshness and depth. It reminds me rose plantations in Bulgarian hills years ago with heaps of picked blossoms in the factory waiting for oil production, velvety, already passed crispness, yet still radiating summer heat mixed with intoxicating scent. Gorgeous release and Ropion catches all 100 faces of rose in this creation. I need to sample more, but its my first impression of absolutely beautiful mature and slightly resinous rose on smooth woody base that has a pinch of savoury moss. Contrary to their clear line, this really delivers in longevity department as well.

Gentle, fresh young rose with a green stem, just a touch of sweetness. The development and longevity differes, based on the weather. It is hot and humid right now and it shines, radiates even 4 hours in. Sligtly soapy at this point (fantastic for summer!), the way some vetivers develop, but it must be oakmoss. I agree with Fragaddict123, it does feel like a chypre and I love Rose shot even more for it. I experienced it sitting closer to skin in colder weather, but on warmer skin or in hot weather it is a charmer. It is hard to make such light and airy scents with extreeme longevity, without them smelling unpleasantly chemichal, so I have no complaints there. Now I want to try the rest of the shots.

Strong, watery and a bit spicy rose.

One of the fresher roses I have come across after Cartier d'un soir. It opens up with a zingy/tart and fresher take on rose which almost reminds me of a taif rose. Another note I can quickly pick up at the begining itself is pink pepper. Pepper gives a lsight nuttiness and spices up the freshness, however it's still largly a fresher and floral as far as the feeling goes. The tanginess still lingers on the keeps all edges intact withough being and over achiever in any lines of notes. Very balanced i would say. After around 30 min or so the freshness fades and the composition starts becoming laightly weaker but more dense with woods and spices taking a front seat. The sillage is quite strong for around 30 min to an hour and then it slowly dissipates but still good enough. The overall mix on notes take it to an slightly on a feminine side imo but still it's on the enge so that anyone can pull off. Safe and office friendly for sure and quite an upscale smell overall. Lovely creation compared to many redundant rose releases. Not a bottle worthy for me just because it leans more feminine to my nose. Otherwise a solid thumbs up. 👍

This is an absolutely stunning beautify rose fragrance. It starts with a slightly sour, spicy and minty rose, almost hinting rose taif. After 20 minutes, the sourness dissipates and revealing a semi-sweet full bloomed Bulgarian rose. At this stage, the rose is so so pretty, not too sweet, not too green, it is just the right amount of rose piercing through my nostril. It literally made me feel I was a princess dancing in a palace. After 3 hours in, this Bulgarian rose disappeared and brought the soft velvety pink rose petal to the stage. The rose now is very elegant and delicate, makes me want to hug it all in gently. This bottom note lasts about 2 more hours on my skin. Kudos to Dominique Ropion. IMO, this is a cheapie dupe of Henry Jacques Rose Bulgare Composee. The only complaint is probably the longevity. It says an extrait, but I am getting a more EDP performance. That said, still money well spent. I am not sure why the rating on this one is so so low. But guys, do give it more time and let it bloom on your skin. This is not a generic designer/niche rose. This is a luxury royal rose!!!
