Woody Mood

This niche perfume brand was completely inspired by the art of photography. The photographer of this work was Roger Steffens & The Family Acid and the conceptual image dates back to 1973 and depicts giant sequoias that are probably found in Mendocino where he spent a lot of time. The perfumer was Bertrand Duchaufour, who established himself years ago as an independent perfumer and has his name behind creations for The Different Company, Acqua di Parma, Penhaligon's, Comme des Garcons, L'Artisan Parfumeur, among others. The fragrance of Woody Mood consists of notes of bergamot, ginger, clary sage and saffron, in the head; black tea, incense, sequoia accord and Himalayan Nardo (jatamansi), in the heart; patchouli, styrax, leather accord and cocoa powder, in the bottom. On my skin, Woody Mood is more about incense and leather than woods, properly. I could write a lot of beautiful things here, but I'd rather be straightforward in this case. It is a perfume for those who enjoy saffron, incense and leather...the rest are just the ingredients of a very well composed recipe. In fact, this is the clear example of a fragrance made by someone who, in recent years, has been creating perfumes with authorial freedom, feeding his own creative side at each new release. For those who are just accustomed to the mass-market perfumes, Woody Mood is out of this world. For those who are already part of the High Perfumery universe (niche, indie, artisanal, etc.), it is not an innovative fragrance, but it conquers for quality. Going back to what matters, Woody Mood basically works as follows: imagine a delicious incense, made with a few wood chips, a lot of saffron, leather fibers and patchouli, a slightly sweet and bitter base of cocoa and lots of incense resins. Then, as in a steam distillation process, this smoke becomes an essential oil that fuses with the sensual ambery scent of the Himalayan spikenard and then is bottled. If you have imagined, then you already know how this fragrance smells like! It is a scent for anyone who is addicted to perfumes that are rich in saffron and incense, just like me. Before finishing, it is worth clarifying information for my faithful readers: the Himalayan nard is Nardostachys Jatamansi, of the Valerian family. Some people confuse it with Tuberose, but this is Tuberosa Polianthes, from the Agavaceae family. Woody Mood: A forest spirit, coming through the smoke of the incense, which does not come out of the skin nor even under a spell.

Olfactive Studio and Bertrand Duchaufour is a combination which is very hard to resist so I tested this once it was released back couple of years – I was amazed when I first smell Woody mood and touch of Duchaufor was very evident – Now I have spent few months with this perfume so I am in position to write the review – This perfume is inspired by a Picture owner Celine saw at Paris Exhibition of Roger Steffens where a woman is surrounded by huge redwood trees with sunshine breaking through in the distance and with Orange Halo in the foreground to me she is astonished by the beauty she is seeing. As you spray this perfume you smell Bergamot, Ginger and Herbal Sage with ginger being a dominant note – It’s not jumping out as though sun is just peeking out rather than being in full swing -This opening last only for few minutes and then its turns smoky with incense and woody – This is reminding in a way of Hendley Fume right now however fume is far more smoky and this is more woody however both are representing forest – Wood used in this perfume is Sequoia which is most expensive wood in the world – This is brilliant right now as with heavy notes it’s still not overpowering and you can smell all the notes – It maintain its class – It also has flowery/herbal note of Jatamansi – Which I have tested in raw form when I visited local store in Delhi blended with touch of black tea – As this perfume mature it’s still smelling the same however with good dose of cacao which is forming a coating on top all the notes which have come before . Projection and Silage of this fragrance is slightly above the normal – Woody Mood never jumps out and neither it’s becomes a skin scent – If you ever tested woody Arabian fragrance this is completely opposite of it – As those fragrance are very Raw this is very refined and classy ! I also have two Conclusion to end this review – Woody Mood is best Olfactive studio fragrance till now of what I have tested and Bertrand Duchaufour is a Genius – (10/10)

GOT WOOD?! Warm, woody, moody, smokey, spicy. Perfectly fits the name. I've been through about 50 reviews barely liking any... but wow, this! Perfectly balanced. Holy crap is this good! Rum! Cocoa! Sequoia! Amazing! Reminds me in some ways of a much higher quality version of Endymion but whereas that one fades after the first hour, this dries down into opening notes similar to Endymion but it lasts for hours. That one overpromises and underdelivers in the extreme. But this! This beats the great opening of Endymion and gives it to you for 8-10 hours, and it’s just divine. COMPOSITION: Perfect balance between cocoa, woodiness and rum. The booziness or gourmand never overpower the woods. The sequoia acts like oud, to give the scent a very solid, very rugged backbone but without dominating the composition. This gives me what I wanted from 24 Gold or Raghba in terms of being warm and inviting but those felt young and feminine. This delivers those same good vibes they had, but now finally all grown up, with a hairy chest - and now you can call him Daddy! VERDICT: Rich deep mysterious manly vibe without being obvious or just another trending oud scent. This is way more unique then many of those. Perfectly balanced, boozy and gourmand enough to give it an edge, but not overpowering those gorgeous woods! Solid choice for dates & nights out, and now one of my favourite scents. Damned if I’m not picky, just see my reviews, most say ‘this isn’t for me, because of x reason, y reason etc etc... well this is totally for me, and damn i’m glad I found this one!!! I’m deliberately keeping as small a collection as possible but this is a new MUST HAVE for me. Essential!!

A bit of a sleeper - at least for me. I haven’t heard many people hyping up this fragrance, which is surprising. I only decided to give it a shot because Pep, The Scentinnel keeps featuring it on his “Top,” “Most Loved,” and “Worn to Death” lists. And , Pep hasn’t steered me wrong yet. My Tobacco Vanille is running low, and while I’m not sure if I’m wanting to buy a new bottle just yet, I was hunting for something cozy to get me through the colder months. This one popped up, so I took the plunge. First impressions? Pretty good. Not “love at first sniff” tho . In fact, I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to keep it. But I gave it time, wore it around, and you know what? The more I wear it the more I like it . It’s not super complex, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s sweet and spicy , but not too sweet . with a fantastic woody base that just lingers perfectly. People say it smells like pencil shavings, and while I don’t entirely agree, I can kind of see where they’re coming from. It’s definitely a keeper and, dare I say, backup-bottle worthy for me . I’ll update this post if anything changes 🤓

This is a MASTERPIECE by Monsieur Bertrand Duchaufour for Olfactive Studio ! ELEGANT, CLASSY, RICH, SPICY, WOODY and COMPLEX. You can't go wrong with it, If you like SPICY and Woody Style Scent. I bought it blind-buy after reading the positive comments and I watched reviews on YouTube with reasonable price. It has a masterful Well-blended composition with High Quality. Woody Mood is a Hidden Gem and It needs some hype ! It opens up with fresh spicy, Incense-y and woody notes in the background then dry down is semi sweet warm spicy, ambery, resinous, balsamic and woody with smoky Cacao and Patchouli undertone. There is a Bubble Gum Vibe undertone between the opening up to the dry down. Woody Mood reminds me of a little bit Lalique Equus but They are not the same. I really enjoy it when the weather is Cold and I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. Longevity is good. Highly Recommend. Two Thumbs Up Bravo Monsieur Bertrand Duchaufour ! Rating : 9 / 10

I’ve worn Woody Mood three times in the past two weeks. The weather is changing where I live and I wanted to make sure I sampled this multifaceted resin and spice scent in cool weather. Opening is ginger and incense on my skin, other notes—styrax, cacao, saffron—are present but clearly in the background. I’m not sure what sequoia smells like, but it’s upvoted as the main note by others and I can assume that’s the unusual note I’m picking up in the drydown. There’s nothing sweet and the usual suspect—vanilla—is missing and I’m pleasantly relieved. I know my description is not complete but I love this one. It’s odd but not a big weirdo of a scent, and I can easily wear this perfume. Woody Mood vacillates between fresh and synthetic, and I suspect this is not going to be appealing to the mainstream but I think that was the intention.

Welp....just got my second bottle because I could not see myself go into fall and winter without it. It's becoming a staple in my collection. I kept the empty bottle around so I would not forget the scent and that I needed it. That's how much I loved it. Woody mood is the perfect name, you smell like a sexy forest. A sexy man dressed in deep browns, dark greens, creamy soft sweater, and an expensive coat. It's deep, powerful, has layers, lasts a long time, gets you compliments. If you love woods, not just the actual wood, timber..I means the woods. The feel of crunchy leafs, cold mornings after a hot shower, crisp air, cut logs about to get in a fire, sharp breeze through the cold trees, mist, fog....this is for you. This is an aesthetic. This is a vibe house down boots yas mawma gawd tongue pop gaga I live. Yes.

Pleasantly warm and profoundly comforting, yet complex and weird enough to keep you on your toes. Imagine walking into an aged wooden crate that has held its fair share of spices over the years, while in your hand is a cold pint of fresh and effervescent ginger beer. This fragrance is best for: 1. Quiet nights at home, especially those mid-week nights for recharging. 2. Afternoon/evening coffee dates or meetups. I think the smell of roasting coffee and bustling espresso machines would go well with the juxtaposition of warm and fresh in the fragrance. 3. The last outdoor gathering before it gets too cold.

This is a scent that is reminding me of days from working on the cattle ranch. It has a similar Aura as Amber Kiso and Serge Luten Chergui. This is a Fall scent for sure. And whatever Sequoia is supposed to smell like, it is mysteriously Woody and inviting, almost in a "lost in the woods" kind of way. 10/10 many for the mysterious woodiness behind it. Off topic, have any of you ever wondered what is in Cologne. It's weird how they last so long. I understand that they are "trade secrets" but how are some of these lasting forever?

My new favorite house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I received 9 different samples the other day, but I'm going through them sooooo super slowly, cuz they're all so long lasting (also, I would full bottle any one of the four I've tried so far). This one smells like church. It's amazing. I had already begun searching for Panorama, but I may hafta locate Woody Mood first- I can really imagine this sustaining me through the winter ❤

The woodiest, woody wood I have ever smelled. This is full on dry, woodpile with an incense leather drydown. I sometimes get the black tea and sometimes the cacao. The ginger is at the top but the blend is so nice I really just smell a gorgeous, moody wood; hummm, great name for this fragrance. It lasts very well on my dry skin too. It just smells darn good to me.

An upcoming Fall-Winter 2017 release. Very smoky but neither in the creamy way of Le Labo's Santal 33 nor in the outrageous gunpowder way of Beaufort's Tonner. A gentle balanced smoky the Atlas cedar way.

I wasn’t expecting what I’m actually getting from this fragrance. As to the comparisons to graphite i don’t know where people get that. Hard for me to describe but this is the best from this house.

A brilliant outing by Duchaufour. So hard to bring anything new to the market these days, yet he does it often and he has done it here. The note pyramid and rankings describe it very well.

Alluring woody and boozy openning. Dries down into a very elegant incense. No resemblence to Graphite, no pencil shaving note. It is one of the best -not to say the best- from the house.

Distant campfire embers on a crisp cool Fall morning. A unisex, resin & leather drydown makes this my favorite from the brand..Amazing!

I expect something super woody but its is not Firstly im gonna say its warm perfume that would be very nice match in fall and winter Lets spray on my skin and test it : At first wow so nice starting but ots not bitter at all actually its woody but very sweet And after 5 or 12 minutes of wow starting it changed it is not sharp any more in case it’s very smoothe and delicious smell Mixing of cacao and woods and also very little leader , its not very unique you think you smell it before i don’t know where or what other perfume similar with it but I definitely know it’s not unique!!! And it keeps going till dry down in dry down its little be too sweet I didn’t get any citrus vibe but all i get little green that mixed with lots sweeet I like it but definitely im not buying it anymore ! And not suggest it to my friends too. To me this perfume is on “i like this” category But trust on your noise and test it before you pay for it. I don't really enjoy woody notes on their own (with the exception of sandalwood). I find many too gritty and many times a bit synthetic smelling, largely because the often are. Same goes with ginger, it can really go into a bitter dissonant direction that I don't enjoy, especially when paired with fresh notes. While I was expecting Woody Mood to be my least favorite of the discovery set I bought, I actually find it works quite nicely, namely because incense has come to the rescue. The right amount of incense tends to somehow set the threshold of what is perceived as gritty and rough higher than normal and the ginger sweetness and fresh woody sequioa cut through and are perceived as welcome brightness. Andy Tauer does a similar trick in l'Air, where the smoke allows for cinnamon to cut through and appear fresh rather than gritty. The dry down is a bit more banal and I perceive some amberwood aromachem cutting through. Unfortunately no cacao. Nonetheless not unpleasant. Overall, a very nice smoky woody spicy scent, it would make a fantastic fall room scent, but I can imagine also wearing it occasionally in cooler weather.

Woody Mood is very wearable and very likeable! It smells interesting but in a friendly way. The drydown darkens nicely, it's definitely a scent that develops quite a bit throughout wearing it. Ultimately I am not wowed though, although there is nothing I dislike in particular. In general, WM gives me the feeling that I would like it more on someone else: it is a scent that could draw me in, not something that I personally want to use to draw others in. Lovely for rainy evenings on the couch with someone you like, I think. edited to add (29/12): firstly, I now think the dry down is rather sexy, smelling clean but quite intimate. Secondly, for some reason this is one that has kind of burrowed itself into my brain. It doesn't really feel like me - the opening is too bright and juicy - but I keep coming back to it for some reason. Definitely more going on here than appears to be the case at first smell.

Should be a knockout, given it's a Duchaufour and that pretty eclectic and challenging mix of notes. On me: meh. Just a medium-dry, medium-sweet, rather generic light wood fume with the same old Olfactive Studio performance failure. Maybe it's me but they just don't last the course. Plenty of deliciousness at first, all tremendously smoothly blended - I couldn't picture clary sage and cacao ever occupying the same space without clashing like some disgusting space-age kitchen accident (sage chocolate anyone?), but it all works just fine. Ginger, pepper, leather etc are all in there too if you know they're included and go hunting for them, but the overall effect is just a bit of a comfortable blur. Not objectionable at all, true unisex, very warm. But collapses into almost nothing on me within an hour and lingers as mild generic sweetness and little else. This wood needs hardening up.

#1583 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from scentsplit.com and I like it, but I do wish it were a bit stronger in the dry down. I really love woody fragrances in general. I have a good number of them, and it's not like I'm running low, but I think this may be a buy for me because of the yummy uniqueness the cacao adds to this scent. It's attractive, unlikely to offend in any environment, but pretty moderate in performance and silage. Basically if you added cacao to to Nobile 1942 "Malvs" or subtracted the iris from Givenchy "Gentleman Boisee", or removed the rose from Varvatos "Dark Rebel Rider" you'd have this, and there are many more that diverge with tobacco notes. That said, hard to imagine any guy not liking this or any woman not enjoying this on a guy. But it barely makes it to lunch, so I'd try before you buy. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Addictive. First spray feels weird. Like. Just wood being cut... Even some smoke coming from the saw after the cut. Fairly fresh. It feels like it's missing a component. A sweet amber with this would be an instant hit. But on it's own it's missing something to feel complete. It's just sawn wood to my nose. It does that super well, though. I think this is perfect for layering with something fresh and perhaps citrusy. Spray this first and whatever fresh scent you have, above. It will give it a more woody backbone. 6/10 on it's own 10/10 when layered with something fresh and citrusy.

Nice incensey woody fragrance. Totally suits walking around in the tress with a chill breeze. I really get the ginger in here, and lots of super dry woods. I do smell the cacao, it's like a dark chocolate powder. It sweetens on me in the drydown. Woody Mood smells great, kind of an introspective fragrance. That sequoia note is pretty fantastic, it isn't your run-of-the-mill woody - really smells like PNW trees and mulch crisping under your boots.

Woody Mood is a real woody stroll, which starts with the aromatic freshness of pine camphor, then notes of resin, incense, cedar and patchouli, coated with a boozy touch and enveloping musks. Both simple and moving, it leans slightly towards a masculine profile with its dry and solid woods. We find there the touch of Duchaufour, this impression of richness and olfactory textures in multi-layers. The sillage and longevity are also good...bravo

Quite nice... not really getting the spices so much. Dry woods to start. The cocoa is there if you know to sniff for it. That cocoa keeps it from getting too walk-in-the-woods. And combined with the saffron it becomes kind of an office-friendly alternative to Bruno Fazzolari’s Ummagumma. Good stuff.

Woody, sweet, spicy - it's nice, but overall I'm not as impressed as I expected to be. Smells too much like a B&BW balsam & firewood candle I burned all winter for me to be able to pull out the complexities in this one and enjoy them. I prefer chambre noire.

To me it's plain simple to describe this. When there is a ceremony for Palm Sunday or there is a funeral, this smell occurs: 'Frankincense'. Frankincense from the first spray. But I don't know yet what odor it settles down into. -- Update to be requested --

I hoped for a forest, but instead got loads of surprisingly sweet ginger and spices and incense, over some creamy woods reminiscent of the Muji Hinoki Wood candle. Totally understand how this is a cosy and comforting scent for many, just not me.

Really dry woody scent. I blind bought this and was not completely disappointed. For me it’s more of a mixer fragrance, not complex enough to wear alone. The longevity however is incredible, 12+ hours later and I can still smell it on my skin.

Smells like the Street Fighter bubble gums that come with a sticker from the 90s. Then it dries down to a pleasant vanilla. I like it!

First test: has that old cedar & mothballs smell, strongly for a few moments, a bit vague herbal-spicy, resiny, vanilla, and some general old fashioned/powdery perfume (patchouli, unlit incense sticks, something floral) underneath. Complex. Not "gendered", to me. Possibly I'd lean towards "feminine" because of that sweet-powdery perfumeyness. Though a lot of people seem to read cedar dominance as "masculine" so who knows. EDIT: saw the commenter that said Ambroxan bomb, oh yes - that's the "general old-fashioned powdery perfumey..." I'm getting. (Think D&G Light Blue late drydown if you haven't sniffed ambroxan.) test 2: strong red cedar oil (moth spray more than pencil shaving) at first, fades into iso e or timbersilk on top of ambroxan, w/ little facets though. heavy. noseblinding. About 90 minutes in, this time I do get a clear slightly bitter leather note. Another half hour in it reminds me of the Encre Noire drydown, the way it goes sweet-leathery-smoky and oh shit now I like it.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The opening isn't great. There is a warm spice of sorts, but it smells more like warm sawdust than actual spice. It's like the inside of a wood shop on a summer evening. There's a note that's reminiscent of dried apricots as well. The actual wood scent itself has a mild rubbery, synthetic quality that I find off-putting, at least in the opening. As it dries down, the notes do begin to mix together more thoroughly. I do like the warm, comforting sawdust and amber accords, and there's a smoky cedar note that adds a welcome rounding out of the fragrance. That hint of rubber continues to linger in the background, and that's less than ideal, but it does recede and become much less noticeable. So overall, my feelings definitely lean positive. This is firmly unisex as is neither heavy and earthy nor light and airy. Regarding season, this feels very much like a summer fragrance.

Dry sweet-spicy woods- Excellent autumn/rainy scent. Note: Please read DT953's review down below, it's a very good personal impression. This is a perfume with proper transitions, Sequoia woods with smooth sweetness from cacao comes at the initial burst, the fragrance gets incense qualities revealing the balsamic styrax and musky Himalayan spikenard as the backbone of this scent. Every note has equal importance in the blend with the sequoia wood and musky sweetness shining the brightest which you also get the most from the sillage of this scent. Herbal minty nature from patchouli and clary sage are also well noticeable as a supporting note in this scent. The incense qualities on the dry down are along a similar vein to Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme. A little bit of the opening also reminded me of Chambre Noire, they might share some similar notes.

I do not hate it and do not love it. It opens too medicinal for me. Bitter and sweet herbal balsam. As a big fan of the real life clary sage plant/flower (I used to grow it), I smell zero of it here. Same as bergamot- again a big fan- I guess there is Some citrus zest here, but I wouldn`t call it bergamot. The smoke note here is pretty much church frankincense and this rarely is likeable in a perfume. The scent smells better when the top notes wear out but still too much herbal balsam in my opinion. I mean if you associate herbal balsam with timber then yes I guess you can call this woody. Basically Encre Noir meets the Underberg digestif. This is my 2nd attempt with this company, the 1st one was a hit (Iris shot), this one is a total miss.

Dry, smoky, freshly cut timber. The smell of someone who's been working in a sawmill all day.

Great name, great perfumer, this won an award I seem to recall (or it was shortlisted?) I actually love the Olfactive Studios brand, and I got the sample (along with a box of others) for free! This was lining up to be an absolute corker. A bit of background is needed to set the scene for this review. I had reviewed Lumiere Blanche on my Instagram feed and stated that like many Olfactive Studios fragrances, they are magnificent concepts and great openers but lack lustre drydown and fleeting in terms of performance. (Woody Mood ironically is anything but) On balance I don't put that much weight on the performance aspect as many reviewers do, some fragrances are supposed to be like that. However, when you get something deep, rich and complex you kinda hope it will last and stay that way. Selfish and unrealistic perhaps but it's more out of disappointment than anything because I really like the smell. So I sort of slated OS for this and received some comments from Celine below my post. I can hardly blame her really, if someone even hinted at slagging off my baby, I'd claw their eyes out!!! Anyway, she was very lovely and gracious about it and gave her justifications for the concentration of Lumiere Blanche. Needless to say I felt bad as I was clearly a fan of the house regardless of my minor gripes. She suggested that I try her newer release Woody Mood and proceeded to send me some samples which was incredibly kind of of her. So it's terrible that I have to say.... I really don't like it at all. I appreciate that it is innovative and frankly brilliant perfumery, mixing a warm, dense woody, oriental with the modernity that Duchaufour seems to bring to everything he does. Elements in here I definitely like and as I said above the quality, performance and concentration of Woody mood are all off the charts, and I'm not surprised it's received critical acclaim, but there's no accounting for taste though and it's just not to mine. The opening is typical of the house very unique but right away I'm confronted by a smokey, rubbery, unusual woods, typically challenging and typical of BD. I get the tea note and the cacao and there's a conspiracy of clary sage and a kinda leathery smell, which make it more serious and dark. It's a bit like the new Dior Santal noire (If I had to back compare) but this has far more notes and maybe the sequoia is what's bothering me? I really don't know? I loved santal noire and I don't love this. It takes several hours for WM's more troubling notes to subside however and I'm left with elements I think are pretty gorgeous. The point is I don't like it, but I absolutely respect it. Facts are if it was just another spicy sandalwood or oriental with oud or leather sure it would be nice but wouldn't be breaking any new ground. I love the fact that I don't like it, because other people do and Woody Mood is truly unique stuff.

The mighty BD is the nose behind this scent. My very favorite perfumer. The homerun king himself. So what happened here? A lazy day? Netflix and chill while making a scent? Seriously. What happened Bert? The opening is kind of cool. It last about 1 minute. Then... IA City on fire = comme des garçons black = woody mood This is unique only if you haven’t smelled the imaginary authors version - or the comme des garçons version. Did Bert make CDG black also? Regardless, a monumental disappointment for a fan of Olfactive Studio and a fan of Bert. 4/10

Photorealistic medicinal hospital opening. Literally smells like a hospital. Instant flashback to having tonsils removed as a kid.

I was hopping for a woodie but this gave me the opposite. Wow what a scrubber just yuck! This smells nothing like woodcut either

Styrax in chocolate & ginger flavor. This like chocolate bars hanging from short trees, so you can smell the chocolate bars, the tree, and the styrax. There is also lime tree next to those chocolate bars trees. There is also a table and on that table there is a cup of tea with ginger flavor, so you can smell the chocolate bars, the tree, the styrax, the lime, & the ginger flavor tree. Also i can detect a slight incense as well. The chocolate note doesn't stay for long as the clary sage begins to rise later and goes peppery, ginger tea, with great doses of styrax and clary sage. It's quite an interesting scene actually as i feel the warmth of this blend, but the cool down is kind of irritating somehow! i need to test it more. Edit (22nd Aug 2017) It's more of an oily patchouli, tea, and hints of chocolates.

I Hope this perfume gets enough praise cause I believe it is masterfull. This is a dark woody scent so if you re looking for a diffrent kind of woods, one that will turn heads, this is it! So mysterious and well blended, I find this perfume very original and carefully crafted. Sequoia and incense I belelieve to be the main players here and they get the job done👌. The target is to feel like you re in a sequioa wood..so solitude, but I would rather wear this at a date night, it can be the perfect wingman. 10/10 beastly performance also

Spiced cacao bergamot balsamic amber. Reminiscent of Chypre Shot created by the same nose. Quality scent for the price, well blended, the sequoia note is unique here. There is something tingy and sharp about this but at the same time the dense balmy warm woody amber feel is more dominant comparitvely, yes it is quite leathery too. Performs well, subtle close to skin, lasts during the colder months. A good release from the brand. 7/10

Hmm, I dunno... My first impression is that it's quite pleasant, a bit woody, sort of warm and cozy, but something about it just comes off as sort of generically masculine to me, and a bit cheap. Can't quite put my finger on why. Will have to give it more of a proper wear to say for sure, but for now I feel kinda meh about it.

Not at all something I'd normally wear. Has mixed vibes. On one hand, it smells like a whisky ladden generic scent. On the other, it smells avant garde and weird like Buddhawood Box. It goes through strange stages on my skin. Boozy, generic, spicy, curry. It's all very strange but I don't hate it.

This is a pleasant wood fragrance but nothing special. It has a bit too much tea for my liking giving it a dry dusty smell. Was hoping for much more chocolate but don't get much at all. Still life still remains my fav of this line which so far has been an easy winner. 6/10

Very cozy. My husband said it smells “very commercial” I’ve never smelt a commercial fragrance like this, and I’m certainly not one to turn my nose at such fragrances. I get a lot of incense and a hint of wood.

It starts out a bit woody and smoky, but as it dries down, it becomes a huge ambroxan bomb. I honestly don't get how it could remind some people of the wondrous Fume by Hendley...

Never smelled anything like this before. Smells like a barbeque. The grill with all the meat and sauces. There is something in here that makes it smell like barbeque sauce.

The woody notes come off like a spicy ceder I like it, it kinda reminds me of Graphite by Claude Montana ,, just my first impression tho, i'll update this later if need be
