Akwa Negra

This fragrance smells AMAZING!, The first time I ever smelt this fragrance I was walking down a street in southern alaska but thats when *sniff* sniif* I smelt it, A amazing citrusy floral scent, I looked around the nearly empty street for the source of the scent and thats when i saw her, a majestic black lady laying on the side of the street.

Very potent floral citrus scent that exudes a strong dominant voluptuousness and can be worn easily by men as well. The scent opens with notes of bergamot, orange, carrot seed and cinnamon. The floral heart has orris, magnolia and rose. The scent settles on a powdery bed of vetiver, cypriol and musk. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Need strong personalities to carry it off. Enjoy!

This fragrance immediately attracted my attention given the name and the eerie bottle design. I was also swayed by the note detections. The cosmetics alone could intrigue most but once you take away the makeup, this is just a bag of wrenches. All of this bark and this is really a cat; a quiet one at that. This starts off with the right kind of austerity but not enough commitment. You can't help but notice the Encre Noir semblance as the vetiver is in the forefront of everything followed by a musty citrus accord. And to tell you the truth, I kind of like that combination. It was a little dangerous and daring but short-lived. This is an unvarying fragrance that's centered around these three accords: woods/citrus/earthy. This fragrance is not that bad but it's frustratingly lacking important ingredients that would put it over the top and into the stratosphere of perfumery. Also to note, this does not develop into a skin scent, it STARTS OFF like a skin scent. Again, frustrating! I guess I can no longer trust the notes that people vote upon no matter the contrasting numbers. The brand said that this was made to evoke a black woman. I don't know any black woman that smells like this and I'm black hahaha! God bless the reviewer below me. He seemed to be agog for Akwa Negra. It looks like I could've used more luck and less Gluck.
