Lofoten

Lofoten by Olfattology is a delightful aquatic, marine, clean, floral blend. While this scent profile seems very common throughout the Mediterranean brands like Laboratorio Olffativo, Gritti, Profumum Roma, L’Erbolario, Carthusia and Giardino Benessere to name a few I have sampled so far, I feel like Olfattology did the best when they designed the bottle for Lofoten! Infinite blue.. I am aware that it is inspired by the eponymous island in the North of the Europe, on Norway’s coast but I would associate it with the South. The juice itself is in the line with the above mentioned: a freshly, marine, aquatic, floral, musky type of scent. Smooth, calming and refreshing! But in my opinion Lofoten has a slight more prominent feminine touch from the multitude of flowers listed in the heart notes: ylang ylang, rose, lily of the valley, myrtle. That’s what makes it stand out compared with the rest above. Besides being a more floral and feminine variation and having the most ethereal and delicate shade of baby blue, there’s not much to distinguish it from the other scents. Add to that the beautiful golden cap that contrasts with the blue of the bottle. Aesthetics goals... Performance is the same as the rest in this genre, moderate on all levels! I am testing this from a sample, not full bottle. Price is similar to some of the brands listed above or even cheaper actually, at 125€ per full bottle! Simply because of the gorgeous, dreamy light blue bottle I might purchase this when I’m done with my Salina bottle. It reminds me of the Ionian Sea colours. I think I made my mind after testing them all... It’s my perfect blue bottle and reflects best this type of marine, aquatic fragrance!

This smells exactly like those small round wrapped soaps that you get in luxury hotels. Amazing, sophisticated and so clean. You will smell like you stepped out of a luxurious bath. It’s also extremely long lasting I can smell it on myself the next day. Highly recommend if you love high quality soapy luxurious scents. 🧼🫧🫧

The Lofoten Islands are in the far north, in Norway, just look at a photo of the splendid landscape that characterizes them to understand what this fragrance wants to communicate. Transparency, well-being, a triumph of nature: marine notes combined with lime, myrtle, flowers, to finally give, thanks to musk and iris, a very pleasant sensation of cleanliness. It's as if you were admiring the purity of the sea and its nature from a promontory, enchanted. It is a truly beautiful, well-executed fragrance, to be worn mostly in summer, as it really gives a sense of freshness. Excellent durability and trail.

A fragrance that works directly on the skin, without unnecessary detours. It carries a very clear salty signature that remains consistent from start to finish. The opening is immediately marine, but not light. The saltiness is sharp, almost tangible—like sea air settling onto the skin. This isn’t a fresh, transparent aquatic; it’s denser, more present. As it develops, it warms slightly. The salty facet softens but never fades. It blends into a smoother, slightly creamy base that makes the fragrance more enveloping without altering its core identity. The evolution is simple, yet effective. The sillage is clearly noticeable. On my skin, longevity is very good—well over seven hours—with a steady presence that clings like a true “salty tattoo.” The character is assertive, with a strong marine identity. I find it unisex, though personally I think it performs best on feminine skin, where the salty facet blends more naturally and becomes even more compelling. It’s perfect for the summer season, especially during the day or on warm evenings, when it can fully express itself. Lofoten is linear, but focused. And when a fragrance manages to maintain such a recognizable signature from beginning to end—it’s hard to ask for more.

Liked it on paper, then managed to get a sample and testing it right now. There is something attraxtive and repulsive in this fragrance. It's like a bunch of wet strongly smelling seaweed has been wrapped in a clean linen sheet. The clean aspect of it is so nice, but if the strong seaweed doesn't fade after some time, I guess it's a no for me on my skin. Maybe I'd appreciate it on someone else.

This is a desperate and unsuccessful attempt to riff on Profumum Roma's Acqua di Sale. And what's up with that childish logo? It cheapens the line even further. No thanks.

This really does smell like alpine spa soap - herbal, cool and fresh. No calone skank - just soft clean and reassuring. Unisex

@Maya lilac I urge you to try Profumum Roma's Acqua di Sale before buying a bottle of this stuff.
