Cardamome

You get exactly what you see on the pyramid: Cardamom, lavender, a little bit of patchouli and woody base. As with all Olibanum scents I tired so far, this one is also very soft and creamy. It does remind me another Histories de Parfums but I can't quite put my finger on it...could be 1804 or 7753 Unexpected Mona but not sure 🤔. It is both spicy and fresh, has that bohemian feel to it- summer vacations with linen dresses or suits and sandals type of fragrance. It has this almost fruity (pineapple or peach) hint in the drydown. Or could it be sangria with fruits and spices. Anyway, I like it a lot! Perfectly unisex or a tad masculine. Drydown is distinctly masculine. Edited to add: this really has a distinct pineapple note to my nose. Imagine pineapple, patchouli and Cardamom and there you have it. Unusual but likeable.

Cardamom can have a vibrant yet creamy quality to it in many fragrances, and that's what I find here. As much as this fragrance deserves its name, it could just as understandably be called Cèdre. The two balance each other nicely. To my nose, the lavender and patchouli just round out the composition. I've been on the search for a feminine cardamom fragrance, but unfortunately it is as I expected when I saw the note breakdown: this is very classically masculine, albeit refined. Beautiful, nonetheless, but not what I'm looking for.

@halael This brand is notorious for not giving out full note lists. If you dig around on their site, they state "All of our OLIBANUM fragrances contain a CO2 extracted olibanum from Somalia, one of the most renowned varieties." Olibanum is in every one of their perfumes, but it may not be the most prominent note. On the website, they also mention davana as a note in this fragrance, in addition to cardamom, lavender, cedar and patchouli.

Warm and spicy cardamom right off the bat paired with a layer of incense in the background, they work pretty well together in my opinion and progresses to be more woody and earthy over time. Personally don’t get any lavender and just wished that the cardamom was more prevalent aside from maybe the first few minutes before being enveloped by the rest and being just a slight touch of spice. That opening is intoxicating!

@frankcrummit There isn't any olibanum in this fragrance. Olibanum is the name of the brand, but the majority of the fragrances do not include the brand's namesake in the composition.
