More Than The Stars

More than the Stars is a very beautiful musk perfume. Yes, there is almond here and lily, gardenia, but man do I get a really strong musk. Not a white musk but a deeper sweeter more exotic musk. Sandalwood and a slight vetiver round out this fragrance. Very romantic smelling. A very appropriate name for this perfume. I can see wearing this on a date night. I would love to wear this in the dead of winter looking up towards a star filled sky. Deep, powdery, musky, slightly and softly floral. If you love musk, I'm telling you this is possibly the best musk perfume, I have ever smelled. Damn another one goes on the want list LOL. Captivating, hypnotic, seductive. In fact, I have to have this one and I will just bite the bullet and buy it. I don't want to let this enchanting perfume pass me by. This is a review for the parfum spray not the oil.

More Than the Stars Olivine Atelier is not a scent I was on the lookout for. One day I was mailing a package at a local shop that also carries gifts and bath goodies. While waiting for help I dabbed a little sample of More Than the Stars, then took care of my mailing and was on my way. But I kept sniffing my wrist and that afternoon and smiling. Next time I was near the shop I picked up a small bottle of MTTS oil and I have not regretted it. It's a choppy blend of some beautiful notes - white floral, almond, sandalwood. Lovely. Doesn't really evolve, but each notes pops up, then recedes at different points during wear. Modest projection and decent staying power. I frequently get complements when I wear MTTS - people don't say 'I love your perfume what are you wearing?' but often just 'You smell great!'

This perfume smells amazing! I love all of their perfumes to be honest (the original lineup anyway)! This is exactly how I want my skin to smell all the time, like delicious sweet almondy gardenia. The fragrance smells like creamy almond and ripe white florals supported by vanilla and sandalwood. My partner doesn't like it 😔 ...so I'm not buying a bottle. I have a full bottle of Olivine, which provides enough gardenia for me to enjoy secretly. 😊 -

To the reviewer below, no, I don't get Sensi at all. Sensi had a wheat/bread like note that added something different. And because of that wheat note, older bottles seem to go off, making it tricky to buy a used bottle. As for this perfume, it''s nice, a bit too sweet for me. Something about the combination of notes just doesn't come through for me. I believe it's also discontinued as well. But to each their own and all that.

This is a stinker. I get frumpy gardenia. I wore it to a movie with my husband, and even after I tried washing it off, he was complaining about the lady behind us’ perfume being overpowering and bad. I’m pretty sure he was actually smelling me and my MTTS. I was excited to wear it because of the positive reviews, but it is very powdery and gardenia-forward in a way that made me feel ashamed of my old lady stink. Couldn’t wait for it to go away.

I wanted to love this. Why? The simple bottle, the notes and the name. Yes I pre-judge a fragrance even before I smell it. I just can’t ignore the imbalance of the notes. The gardenia is the giant elephant in the room trampling the sandalwood and vanilla! Oh and musk is fighting for first right behind gardenia. Vanilla? Sandalwood? Bueller? Bueller? UPDATE- 3 hours later I see Vanilla peeking out between Dumbos ears!

It's allergy season, so I intend to re-review this again later. Tonight, though, what I'm experiencing is quite pleasant. It starts off with a very noticeable almond note; though not the typical cherry-almond note that I've come to associate with scents that include "almonds"...and I'm glad for this. On me, the almond note quickly turns into a "doughy" almond (my allergies *might be to blame for this). I almost want to say "play-doh almond", but it's not that. Nor is it extra sugary smelling like almond bark that you use to bake with. It's not an unpleasant "doughy" almond...just something "thick" and/or "chewy". (Sorry, I"m not explaining myself well.) It quickly turns into a powdery almond note, with a dusting of vanilla, and the welcome introduction of gardenia and lily. Though these flowers aren't as robust as they are in Olivine's other scents, they play a key role in keeping this fragrance from turning into a gourmand. It adds a sensual and very feminine quality, and tones down the sweetness that vanilla usually brings. I'm thinking the sandalwood and musk are helping to create the illusion of powdery-ness [on me]. NOT a baby powder scent by any means! The musk definitely keeps it alive and going; preventing it from being boring. I like that it's soft and delicate, yet also smells sensual and sexy at the same time. The coziness of the almond and vanilla draws you in; but it's the combination of gardenia, musk, sandalwood, and lily that invite the nuzzles to your neck. Overall, a very soft and beautiful fragrance. It's lasted around 5 hours on me so far, but I sprayed it on my neck, wrist, and shirt. (I only sprayed it on my wrist so I could sniff and take notes every so often. Usually, I spray once or twice and that's all.) I won't comment on the sillage until I update this without my allergies, because I don't trust my nose, but it seems to be fairly decent. I keep getting lovely whiffs of it when I walk around. I consider this a warm scent that would be wonderful in cold weather, lovely in the Spring, and may even play nicely in the Summer if used lightly on the neck.

This review is for the perfume oil. A burst of almond in the brief opening introduces a meaty textured gardenia/lily combo in this long wearing beauty. I was actually surprised by the twists and turns I've so far discovered along this fragrant road. Musk pins things down underneath alongside the vanilla to maintain a stable warmth underneath what is otherwise a breezy floral heart. The florals here are very realistic, I can easily picture a gardenia at my ear. Beautiful and well worth the price. I also love using the oil in this case as it lasts longer than I'd expect and adds hydration when it's much needed.

Is this similar to Sensi at all?
