Seattle Chocolate

In the depths of the Amazon, the nights stay hot and damp. Waxy orchids climb the trees giving off the faintest scent of vanilla. There are no stars, they are swallowed by the dense forest canopy pitting me in its depths. The sweltering air around me is thickened ink, black pudding. Leopards have been here, and their terrifying vocal scowls echo throughout the atmosphere. On the forest floor there is rich, loamy soil and spent cocao pods, cracked and whole. Some are rotting and there is a bitter perfume covering my toes. I have brought the Great Northwest Rainforests with me here, to this jungle of the Equator. Comforted in my hands is the top of my thermos, filled to the brims with the remaining liquid from the flask. The cocao nibs gifted to me by the locals have been brewed into a chewy-thick tea of dark proportions: chocolate in its bitterest guise, whispers of vanilla and cinnamon liqueurs, the evergreens of my Northern home. It is a magical potion I drink, whose fumes I inhale as I look to the coveted stars, invisible to me. I am surround by lushness, a tinge of excited fear, and two forests worlds apart. I dive into the overgrown vines, leaves, and wood smothered in cocoa and the threat of carnivorous cats looming in my vicinity. Olympic Orchids has sent a plaything from the Evergreen rainforests of the North as a gift to the sinister secrets in an Amazon jungle: chocolate has come full circle.

Rich, dark chocolate truffles growing in a wooded forest, I can't seem to get the imagery out of my head. Seattle Chocolate opens with a wonderful cacao note--dry, bittersweet and natural. This dark chocolate powder is complemented so well by the emerging green notes. Very much an evergreen fir fragrance that gives a toasty fir-needle accord in combination with the chocolate's bitter dryness. A little fir balsam lends a slightly medicinal quality that yields a bit of a metallic vibe. It's almost as if a sliver of foil was accidentally left on the delicious chocolate bar before stuffing it greedily into my mouth. Oakmoss adds a richness and depth, smoothing all the ingredients of this composition together. The touch of slightly boozy vanilla and musk adds just a glint of sugar to the fragrance. A very moreish perfume indeed without being overly gourmand. The evergreen twist is wonderfully unique and keeps me coming back to my sample again and again.

This is a unique and intriguing take on chocolate. Seattle Chocolate has a strong accord of fir, bringing to mind a deep, green, mossy forest. The fir tree notes mesh surprisingly well with the base of soft, smooth chocolate. The result is a woodsy dark chocolate scent. It’s cool and medicinal as it first hits my skin, smoothing out as it develops. As the fragrance dries down, it becomes a delightful soft-musky chocolate scent with hints of woodsmoke. Seattle Chocolate sits fairly close to the skin, and is less sweet than most chocolate scents...it reads as unisex to me. If you’re looking for a very sweet, gourmand take on chocolate, this wouldn’t be my first recommendation – California Chocolate from the same house is a more edible presentation of this note. Seattle Chocolate, by contrast, is less foody but slightly more sophisticated.

I wasn't so sure about this one at first. I received a sample as a gift, and thinking I wasn't into chocolate fragrances, I dumped about half of the vial onto my arm one day. The coniferous opening took me by surprise--I hadn't studied the notes, and I wasn't expecting this green, herbaceous smell. The longer I wore this the more gorgeous it got. The evergreen smell died down a lot after the first hour, then there was chocolate wafting up at me for most of the day. Toward the end of the day, this morphed into the most beautiful soft, sweet amber smell. It reminds me strongly of the premium dark amber resin incense sold by Tom's Incense. What an interesting and lovely perfume. I could still smell this on my arm the next morning. Can't wait to get my travel spray of this. 10/10

Although I really don’t bother with fragrances anymore, I felt I should write something about this one since I thought I already did. This is the contender for the contest of “if I had to choose one fragrance...” this could be it. An outstanding and well balanced fragrance crossing the lines of gourmand and green fragrances, it is able to strike a chord where it doesn’t lean too sweet or green, but right in the middle. As it dries down, more of the unsweetened chocolate is noticeable but is just perfect still. It’s heavy but light, long lasting but almost ethereal at the same time. This in my opinion is a masterpiece and will be a sleeper hit since this doesn’t get much attention. I will make sure to always keep this fragrance on hand until it no longer exists.

This is by far my favorite fragrance for wintertime! It smells exactly like you are at your grandma's house in Seattle for Christmas. There is a rich, festive smell emanating through the air. You look on the table and see someone left the bottle of bourbon vanilla extract open, which your aunt must have used to make her infamous chocolate bourbon fudge! You grab a piece and walk over to admire the freshly cut Christmas tree. Not only are the decorations beautiful, but the tree itself has a pleasing aroma of sticky-sweet sap and earthy wood undertones.You cozy up beside the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and a wave of relaxation comes over you. Christmastime in Seattle has finally arrived!

This perfume is magnificent. I have never been able to pick out so many individual notes in a perfume before so this is amazing. It feels so dirty (in a good way) and alive this perfume is raw outdoors for me and makes me feel like I am out in a damp leafy forest breathing in the smells of the sap weeping from the trees and forest floor. Wow oh wow, very different from my usual style of perfume but I can really appreciate the time and expertise which has gone into making this perfume. I urge everyone to try some of these perfumes, I received such a lovely package in the mail, it was just beautiful and worth every cent and more I spent on them. Keep working your magic Ellen!

I love this scent! The opening and first 30 minutes remind me of what the witch's cottage in Hansel and Gretel would smell like in a deep, deep forest. A sublime mix of evergreen forest and dark chocolate. After a while the dark chocolate takes over the composition and is very very true, but there is a slight bit of the forest hanging in the background. I love this scent and cant wait to get it this Winter and wear it at Christmastime. Gorgeous festive chocolates hanging on a silver snow glittering fresh cut silver fir... After a while it sweetens up a bit from a slight touch of vanilla...but this is a dark chocolate concoction with a deep forest gothic-y feel--I love

I used to live right outside Seattle. This perfume takes me back! It's like I just got a gourmet hot chocolate from one of the several coffee stands in town, and went for a drive through the nearby forest in autumn or winter. The trees are green, sky is gray, it's chilly outside and I'm bundled up in the car. Of course it's drizzling lol. It's definitely a dark chocolate and the woodiness is very pronounced on my skin. Outdoorsy and delicious! Unisex but maybe slightly masculine leaning. If I wanted to make it girlie, I'd layer a vanilla or marshmallow perfume with it. Must like the scent of the rugged outdoors and powdery dark chocolate.

Rarely am I compelled to write a review so soon after testing a fragrance, but with Seattle Chocolate, two wearings were all I needed. This is like nothing I've ever sampled before. It begins with an intense chocolate note, which quickly gives way to a dry cocoa powder. This mingles with woody, coniferous evergreens, vanilla and musk. The effect these notes have together on my skin is reminiscent of the scent of Satya (blue box) Nag Champa incense... amazing! I can't stop sniffing my wrist. Longevity is fabulous; the scent softens considerably after a few hours, but remains tenacious. Full bottle worthy.

On me, this is dark-ish chocolate and sappy caramel woods. Mellow and androgynous. I am not a fan of über gourmand chocolate perfumes, so this suits me really well as it has just the right amount of sweetness, probably from a little vanilla in the base. Very pleasant and natural. Like sitting down on a mossy rock in the Columbia River Gorge and snapping a square off a good dark chocolate bar. Definitely get the conifers and the feel of the Pac NW. (Wrote my original review in 2014 and came back to update it in 2022 after trying a brand new sample. It’s still wonderful!)

I won a sample of this and a few other new scents from Olympic Orchids in a givaway on the perfumers blog. Evergreens and chocolate might seem like a strange combination, but it really works! It not like chocolate in an evergreen forest but more like chocolate with a evergreen flavor note! As a matter of fact in the giveaway I also received a little box of chocolates flavored with something evergreen (pine or fir?)... So I can say with some measure of confidence that chocolates and evergreens is a match made in heaven, both in scent and taste!

My first sniff from the house and I am amazed. Goes on and stays on strong. Infinite silage and longevity. A very rich chocolate note with a nice added fir note for depth. Plenty of sweetness but not cloying or childish. It reminds me of Choco Musk but for grown ups. The musk element is their but a bit tamer and more subdued. Very unisex and best for cooler temps. I have a decant of Arizona and I hope it's half as good as Seattle!

I was generously, lovingly and so unexpectedly gifted this by Katgirl76. This is a VERY strong like for me. It's a different spin on chocolate. It's dusty, dry, dark cocoa. A bit spicy. I definitely smell the woods, pine scent. I layered it with Al-,Rehab Chocomusk. This is very different and "headshopp-y" to my nose. I'm very interested now in this house and will be exploing more of their fragrances. Thank you so much Katgirl76!!

Olympic Orchids Seattle Chocolate Creamy, thick, dark chocolate billowing under accents of evergreen fir. The fir used in Seattle Chocolate bears resemblance to other OO creations, namely Blackbird. Cool, mentholated and balsamic. The combination of realistic dark chocolate, light vanilla, sugared white musk, and grounding notes of fresh fir and woods, put forward both a unique gourmand experience and outstanding wearability.

Dark chocolate nirvana! Oh my! Exquisite rich dark chocolate that is married with this amazing fir. They are a match made in heaven! Any chocolate lover must try this. It is so good! This is a masterpiece. A perfect winter fragrance. It is very long lasting and projects well. Olympic Orchids deserves so much love and attention. This is one of the best houses ever. Ellen Covey is a master of the olfactory arts!

My 3rd scent into this house and I am loving every one of them. This one is dark woodsy, dark chocolate, semi spice, with a tiny hint of sweetness. Perfect for cooler weather and is long-lasting. I am quite bored of today's safe generic scent that every big brand is pushing. This one is interesting and makes me sniff my arm thru out the day.

Seattle Chocolate - Not what I was expecting. My first impression was not very favorable. I found the chocolate note almost overbearing. So much so that I almost wanted to scrub it off. The fir note I was anticipating was only detectable for a few minutes during the opening. A few hours later I reapplied the fragrance only this time I applied much more, about 1/4 of the sample. Now the fir note was much more prominent although the chocolate note was still the most dominant. About an hour into the fragrance I detected a coffee note even though coffee isn't listed. During the evening the fir note subsided and what remained was soft powdery chocolate which was rather pleasant. Today I inadvertently applied the rest of the sample. Seattle Chocolate has won me over. There's like this tension between the chocolate and fir note that's hard to describe. I would love to wear this fragrance when I'm in rare form, feeling grungy or whatever, not giving a sh*t. What also made me warm up to Seattle Chocolate is I was able to detect the poplar bud note. For the life of me I can't figure out why poplar buds aren't used more often in perfumery. I LOVE their sweet resinous scent, kind of reminds me of the smell of Pepsi. Longevity lasted about 10 hours. The projection was average which is what I prefer. I don't like leaving a scent trail or having to smell my arm all day in order to detect the fragrance. I'm very glad I discovered this house. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is top notch. I'm looking forward to sampling more of their fragrances.

172) Green chocolate Mixture étrange. Elle s'ouvre sur du chocolat noir amer roulé dans des aiguilles de pin, du clou de girofle et du cannabis. Une fois le mélange bien tassé vous l'allumez et directement vous vous envolez dans les hauteurs (de Seattle?). La mousse et le musc ressortent dans le coeur ce qui apporte un équilibre à la force du cacao. Sur peau le parfum est chaud et il y a un réel mélange entre le cacao et les notes balsamiques. Sur papier le parfum reste frais, le chocolat disparaissant complétement, et ne quitte plus l'ambiance forestière. Cette vrai dichotomie pourrait être une déception au moment du test selon que vous préférez un côté ou l'autre. Le fond est un délicat mélange de vanille et de notes boisées. L'ouverture est identique à Hungry Hungry Hippies de Smell Bent. Bonne tenue et bon sillage. Strange mixture. It opens with the dark chocolate rolled in pine needles, clove and cannabis. Once the mixture well tamped you light it and you fly directly in the heights (of Seattle?). Moss and musk emerge in the heart that brings balance to the force of cocoa. On skin the scent is warm and there is a real mix of cocoa and balsamic notes. On paper the scent remains fresh chocolate disappearing completely, and never leaves the forest atmosphere. This dichotomy could be a real disappointment when testing depending on whether you prefer one side or the other. The background is a delicate blend of vanilla and woody notes. The opening is identical to Hungry Hungry Hippies Smell Bent. Good longevity and good sillage.

Gourmands often do not agree with me, and admittedly this sample has sat virtually untouched in my collection for several months, but I felt inspired and decided to try this again. I am so glad I did. The chocolate here feels warmer, perhaps lighter, than that of this house's California Chocolate offering. The fir gives this a forested glow that was lost on me when I first tried it. Dry weather is a must for this fragrance. This is such a unique chocolate scent, you will not find another chocolate-forward perfume like this. It is unique without being overly complicated. If you love gourmands and want something a bit more challenging and multifaceted, try this. If you tend to dislike gourmands but remain curious and would like to stretch your imagination on what a gourmand can be, this is a good selection for you too. (The people saying this isn't gourmand just don't like it if you want my opinion...)

Smells like my childhood! I'm 7 years old, it's raining (but not pouring) outside. I'm having my favorite carton of cold, rich chocolate milk while sharpening my colored pencils over my large A3-sized thick gsm paper already smudged up with oil pastels. A fun scent that I'd like to keep rocking at home! 👋 for some context too this review is from my recent experience in 2022. I got this sample some time in mid-2021 and it smelled like chocolate milk nearing its expiration date with some damp depressing floral note trailing behind lol. I picked it up again recently because I had all these old samples I wasn't using and decided to give this one a go again. No regrets here! Glad I waited it out. RIP to those samples I got rid of instantly lol i wonder how they would've been today

Beautiful Dark chocolat with a tiny twist of fir sigh.. this is such a treat , the Fir realy give the deapth neaded not to make this to cloying and sweet .I close my eyes and think back to trips in the mountainand forests , sitting down to glanse at the beauy nature gives us eating a chocolat to get some new energy. There is a slight touch of vanilla and other woodsy evergreen notes but realy in he back ground This realy is about the Chocolat and Fir so if you like this notes give this one a try . It may sound strange but it realy works its charm. Reminds me also of christmas with the slightly sour smell of Fir , and maybe hot chocolat . beautiful long lasting and different

Before I looked at the notes, I thought I was picking up patchouli and chocolate. But now I’m thinking that patch note must be a combination of the oakmoss, fir and wood notes. Overall this is a dusting chocolate powder driven perfume. Does this represent the PNW? It does, but for me this takes me back to the 1970s version of Seattle. There’s a bit of a hippie, apothecary, old bookstore vibe to this scent. Like most everything I have tested from Olympic Orchids, an interesting scent, although a bit odd. I think the mix of a gourmand chocolate note with fir trees and a skanky musk is a daring direction, a hallmark of the perfumer.

I don’t get as much chocolate in this as California Chocolate which is very noticeable, this is really more of a spicy and woody forest smell and a somewhat watery spa like scent with a dusting of chocolate around it. Very nice and edging toward bottle worthy, but nothing too gourmand about this one to me.

This is such a wearable gourmand, dry, dark chocolate laced with fir balsalm lending it a little greenery and you know what?...it works! I'm putting this on my want list to order when Tropic of Capricorn is back in stock to order, full bottle worthy and unique.

Not an overly sweet or gourmand chocolate - this one is mossy and piney, but never too wild. Rich, intense, and festive. 8/10

After a good, very good start of smokey herbal dark chocolate the perfume change in a dentist scent. What a shame

The chocolate note in this is nicely done, it's on the darker side, but not pure bitter cacao. A hint of vanilla balances the darkness with some sweetness. The fir balsam on the other hand is questionable to my nose. To me it just smells like some pine scented room spray, not very naturalistic and a little overwhelming. Even though there is no citrus listed, the opening seems rather lemony to me. For some reason the overall impression makes me think of old-school booze filled chocolates. This is very intense and quite long-lasting. It's a very rough, indie and homemade kind of perfume. I like Seattle Chocolate a little more than California Chocolate by the same house, but the ones I liked best from Olympic Orchids are the florals of the Cattleya collection. These chocolate scents just don't smell polished enough to me, maybe they would work better as a candle than a perfume. To be fair I noticed that this is nicer and more chocolatey directly on the sample vial than on my skin, so I suspect it also just doesn't suit me. So, if you're into indie scents and love the idea of a coniferous chocolate perfume, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

I abhor chocolate perfumes, so naturally I decided this is a good one to try. But while this is ambiguous when I first spray it, the blast of pine that comes through immediately afterward is anything but sweet or gourmand. After it dries down, I can get a small amount of chocolate using my active imagination. But honestly, there's more just a generalized sweetness with a tiny bit of that chocolate/coffee note in the way background. Unfortunately, this is not going to be a bottle buy because it lives 20 miles inside of Christmas candle territory, on me. I generally love pine, balsam, and all associated resins in fragrances. But I just cannot abide smell like a holiday room spray, and the sweetness added makes this so. However, I truly do encourage people to sample this. Even if you hate chocolate notes, as I do, you might find it does not smell like a Yankee Candle on you and is the subtle, pine-filled, slightly gourmand treat that you're looking for.

Beautiful powdery, warm dark chocolate that settled into dusty wood on my skin after an hour. If the chocolate had stayed I might have placed it above Olympic Amber, which I adore & am buying a fb of. But after a while it reminds me of an old home opened for the first time after being locked up for a few years, dry wooden boards covered in dust with the faint musk of a once-lived in space. Interesting and not intolerable, but not quite what I’m hunting for.

I hesitate to write a negative review on the esteemed Ms. Covey’s fragrance, but I feel the need to balance all the glowing reviews with the fact that this scent isn’t for everyone. A gourmand lover by trade, I was disappointed by Seattle Chocolate. I ordered a sample based on the reviews and found it to be less about chocolate and fir and more about oak moss and musk. I was looking for something akin to eating chocolates by the Christmas tree; a crisp, fresh scent mixed with cacao. What I got was a damp, boggy swamp reminiscent of dirty old fish tanks. Starbucks vs. Pike Place Market. I will say this one is tenacious, so I look forward to trying others from her line.

Opens with a huge whiff of sweet dark almost cherry-like chocolate and a bit of fir. The fir is quite acidic, which is a strange contrast with the sweet chocolate. It becomes almost citrusy bitter, a bit between lemon and grapefruit zest. The chocolate calms down a bit and the tree notes become more prominent turning into an acidic mix of greens and yellows. On my skin, the chocolate doesn't come back, while on the tester strip it smells really gorgeous and delicious! So it must be my chemistry. On me, it's a scrubber. Boo!

It doesnt smell bad. Its for people that live in places that smell like this. I live in new orleans. This very green, herbaceous green, medicinal green, camphorous. Most def get fir trees, the tree bark and tree wood not the forest. Moss is here. Get poplar and fir are prominent. No coco type chocolate. This is the plant chocolate, spice chocolate, green chocolate. Chocolate is aromatic here and add to the dirty earthiness. It is good. I need time for this to grow on me. I appreciate this fragrance.

Pine and balsam fir are my favorite notes, and I search for perfumes with these evergreens. I do love firs here but chocolate note spoils it for me. I love chocolate as a desert but I do not know if I like it in perfumes, I just do not have any fragrances with this note in my collection. It seems like I would enjoy "eating chocolate next to Christmas tree" but Seattle Chocolate does not work for me.

Loved it on application for a minute. It went on a nice dry, boozy chocolate but then quickly became medicinal and herbal. Revision: That horrid herbal medicinal phase lasted about 30 minutes (too long) but this dried down to an amazing boozy chocolate musk. The musk REALLY rose and is strong, almost in a civety way. It is yummy. I just wish I could have skipped that middleground getting there.

Not a fan, this is not a real gourmand or even not really a chocolate scent, I only get a tiny bit chocolate at the opening. But the rest is some weird incense, resins, rose and a touch of coffee (I do like some incense /resinous scents and even rose-coffee scents, but this is not the case here) . It's kind o sweet and sour. Not for me and performance is not impressive either.

This is the exact same as California Chocolate after the top notes burn off. I actualy preffer this ones opening over Cali chocs orange. Its got a nice burnt pine stump thing going on but after 20 minutes the chocolate element is powdery and stale. Both this and cali choc remind me of a gross chocolate sented lube someone gave me years ago and this kinda ruined it for me. ⛤⛤

Nope ,not my cup of tea, or scent for that matter. It lasted about 45 minutes and simply disappeared. To be honest I wasn't holding out much hope because I'm not a fan of chocolate in fragrances. I will try again during Autumn or Winter.

I am a Chocolate Lover. I picked this (blindly) as a sample when I ordered a Kerosene perfume. Maybe I am TOO much of a Chocolate Lover & have too many Chocolate Perfumes. This is horrid. All I smell is a mentholated PIne. They much have forgotten to put Chocolate in my Batch b/c It is Not present. There is no way I'd buy this. It's terrible when I put it on & It's still terrible later. It's a NO for me! Re: Al Rehab Choco Musk Mention, ( to layer it) I have several bottles of Choco Musk, b/c it's cheap & I love it so much. However, I do not have enough to spray on this and make it smell any better.

I have twin children and have changed a lot of diapers. One time one of the twins got into the chocolate stash and ate it all, giving her a bout of diarrhea. This scent brings me back to those diapers. Chocolate and baby powder. Maybe you might like this but the smell invokes negative memories in me.

After the initial blast of vintage shop incense (that fortunately dies down very quickly), what you're left with is a slight woody sweetness that's damp and heavy. Faded extremely quickly.

Olympic Orchids Seattle Chocolate Forests are sacred to me, but pine forests in particular, hold a special place in my heart. I’ve spent countless hours in the pine forests of New Mexico collecting pinon with my family. There is nothing like the smell of fresh pine on your hands. It is so relaxing and calming. The forest canopy is always so cool and the smell of pine is so warm; the trees are so majestic while the forest floor is so tender; and the scent of pine is both pungent and soft; it’s an amazing dichotomy to experience. I will admit that I am always weary of trying anything with a pine note because it’s so difficult to capture realistically. I find it’s always either too sharp and medicinal, or too chemical and industrial. This is the first fragrance I’ve worn that not only captured the dichotomy of the pungent and soft, but also the experience of warm and cold. I really did feel a cooling sensation on my pulse where I applied this fragrance, and even though it’s over 100 F/37C hot today, I feel as though I’ve been sitting in a forest canopy all day. It starts out with a deep and realistic pine note covered in thick unsweetened dark chocolate. About 10 minutes into it, I got a gorgeous waft of an incense note that reminded me exactly of a favorite incense I used to burn all the time, Gonesh Pine. I would have sworn that I was magically transported to the Ta Prohm Temple at Angkor, Cambodia. The dry down was a gorgeous combination of the lingering pine and chocolate on top of a base of wood, musk and oakmoss. I really don’t know how they did it, but I feel like I should have had my passport stamped by this experience. It’s my holy grail pine scent now and the fact that it is combined with my favorite food, chocolate, makes this scent damn near perfect.

Whatever you might be thinking, this is not a gourmand perfume per se. This is a slightly smoky, definitely piney, realistically woodsy unisex scent with a dusting of very dark chocolate thrown in for good measure. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I think this realistically captures the essence of what Seattle and the PNW is...the only thing that would bring it a BIT more home would be the added accord of richly roasted coffee. But I digress. This opens very mossy, a bitter green with the not-so-sweet chocolate right there (and it remains throughout the composition, but I call this not-gourmand as it doesn't really feel edible). The chocolate is a bit plasticky in the beginning, which I don't love--but it's so hard to get a chocolate note just right, so they are forgiven. The musk is there, pinning the whole thing down in just the right way. The balsam is almost boozy. I dig that. All in all, I love a good fragrance that gets the imagination going, and this one does it in just the right way. This is the smell of a day spent camping in the North Cascades, sitting lakeside at Baker drinking a mug of hot chocolate because although the sun is shining, it's only 68 degrees and could rain at any time. It is also a day spent at Bumbershoot eating truffles from that one great vendor while sitting in the beer garden waiting for Third Eye Blind to start their set. Welcome to the PNW.

I have been searching for a really nice dark chocolate perfume and this one was recommended on the forum and I love it. The smell is quite unique and delightful. Yep, dark chocolate, but a twist of forest greenery gives a blast of almost alcoholic chocolate and lasts all thru the dry down! Love that, and everything that follows just enhances the top notes. The perfume becomes softer, more musky, woody chocolate scent. The chocolate does stay with me thru the whole dry down and the other notes add wonderful complexity. This one won't be for everyone...if you like sweet gourmands, look somewhere else. But if you want a truly unusual perfume and you love dark chocolate, you should definitely try this one. Glad I did! And thanks to all the great folks who gave me many suggestions on the forum :) Edit - I DID get a full bottle! Edit - I find that no matter how much I love it and how much I put on, it really does turn right into a very soft skin scent far too soon. So My search will continue.

A dark chocolate bar fell into an indoor pool. You forgot about it. Hours later you pull it out and unwrap it, biting into something that still smells like chocolate, except now the aroma is undeniably infused with the kind of stale chemical smell that accompanies indoor pools (it’s chlorine, but also whatever else is responsible for the smell inside enclosed pools specifically). I enjoy this, but I can see it being challenging or overwhelming to some. I find it to be an intriguing atmospheric scent. The more challenging aspects of this (I’m assuming driven by a prominent moss note and maybe musk) subside in about an hour or two, leaving mostly woody fir-tinged chocolate behind. The fir here isn’t as strong as I anticipated, I think it bolsters the moss, acting mostly as support on the opening and mid, and giving the scent a more fuzzy textural quality on the drydown.

Chocolate & fir tree.... strange combination. Not completely bad, but nothing to rave about. I'd prefer if the fragrance would be more clean and I can actually smell dark chocolate there. Instead the chocolate part smells like milky cacao drink, the fir part I don't mind, it's aromatic and realistic. I didn't like the fact that this blend is very musky.

This perfume transforms from a strangely sour opening into coniferous dark chocolate. Coffee isn't mentioned in the notes, but this evergreen-chocolate combo smells more 'black coffee-like' to me than Olympic Orchids Cafe V. The resin and dark sweetness of Seattle Chocolate blend harmoniously, making this fragrance comforting and suited to cool weather.

Okay, initial impressions (just got my hands on it today). This scent has ENORMOUS silage. Sweet syrupy chocolate liquor hitting you in the face before the fir note appears. It actually smells like unsweetened pepsi with a herbaceous backdrop. As the scent mellows the chocolate emerges again, although it's not a dominant note.
