Siam Proun

I've really enjoyed wearing this today! On me the sweet amber note is very pronounced, tempered just a bit by the herbal notes. I get no citrus and no "fresh spicy". There also hasn't been much transformation as the scent has dried down; I just get a softer, closer version of the opening notes. To me, this is a perfume for sweet and gourmand lovers who can't indulge in their vanilla and caramel passions in The Professional World. You want to smell like candy but you also want to close the deal. This is sophisticated sweetness. It's sweetness for grown-ups. I should also add that I think Siam Proun is exceptionally feminine and would not recommend it to men (nor would I be attracted to a man wearing it).

here I was worried it was going to be harsh. its, herbal, yet smoothe and almost sweet! I put this on my man, and oh boy he's good enough to eat! its almost a creamy herbal? does that even make sense? It's so fresh but warm at the same time, probably from the amber. I think this is definitely full bottle worthy. It's subtle, unique and perfectly harmonious.... I'm just lacking words to describe it, because its a perfect mix of just about everything! I find it on the dry side yes, but certainly not bitter. It's... very green and sunshiney kind of feel. I may have to come back and edit my review with more testing.

Siam Proun opens for me as an invigorating citrus and floral immediately followed by green herbs. The scent of thyme is especially prominent. From the top note through the finish Dr. Covey's special take on amber (evident in her other creations) is is either up front and obvious or just swimming below the surface of the scent. Siam Proun evokes a breeze through an herb garden and will be great seasonal fragrance for early spring through late summer. Siam Proun will also prove very useful when I need to feel a touch of warmth and sunshine, which could be almost anytime here in the cool and wet Pacific Northwest.

I am impressed with the complexity and balance of this. This reminds me just enough of VP Kiki for me to add the comparison. It is long lasting and has a steady metamorphosis throughout the wearing time. Really lovely but unusual composition. Love this one!

This opens as a smooth, harmonious blend with an arrestingly unusual scent. The syrupy amber follows soon, and on me it's rather clingy and insistent. The herbs are muted — almost completely incorporated into this dominant, treacly amber. Hours in, it softens gradually to an intimate skin scent with traces of thyme and lavender. That last part is beautiful.

I usually avoid perfumes with lavender but love it here. The opening is marvelous, however, drydown is extremely unpleasant to me. Reminds me something outdated.

What a Joyful Spring Garden perfume! Naturally sweet fruits, Fizzy and citric, like Lik-M-Aid together with an ambery, vaguely boozy fuzziness provide a background canvas for a spray of Culinary herbs and something savoury, scallion-like, perhaps Garlic chive. This is the essence of a backyard garden and orchard. Something Camphour, I expect Lavender, Mint? envelopes it all to corral back into the World of Perfume. This is the sniff of the skin. Projection provides an aura rich, soothing, slightly medicinal and altogether Magical. This was packaged in a Black and Gold Lipstick spritzer, Chanel-like in it's elegance. Covey suggested that she had created this gem for her Mother. What a delightful gift!

This opened with a huge blast of eucalyptus on me, although that's not listed in the notes. It then dried down to a pleasant herbal lavender. This is just ok for me... Probably won't be buying.

Spicy initial blast, but dries down within 30 minutes into an overly sweet amber. Nothing new or spectacular with this scent.
