Angham

Oh my goodness, I love this. Suffice it to say, this is my fall/winter signature fragrance except when I'm in front of clients. (I wear Nicolaï New York Intense in front of clients year-round in the interest of consistency.) There are a few fragrances that resonantly trigger an olfactory memory for me; Angham is one of them. At spray, this transports me back thirty-something years, to a point just a hop across the Arabian Sea from where this was crafted: to a paan stall visiting Ahmedabad as a young child. This is beautiful and assertively not Western. This fragrance is sweet, but it's a warm-spicy saffron sweet and balanced enough with leathery and woody notes not to be cloying. I find the sweetness level about ideal for a fall/winter fragrance. The notes converge on an impression of incense. Performance is relatively good; projection is significant but not huge, and at 9 hours, a decent scent bubble of sweet warm-spicy leather remains. My lady was more loquacious about Angham than for most frags. She said I smell really nice in it, but she also remarked one morning that smelling it on me at the end of the day made her think about what a nice and relaxing evening she was having. I've never spent more on a full bottle of fragrance than on Angham, but I don't regret it one bit. In addition to being one of my favorite smells, the packaging is gorgeous, easily the best bottle, cap, and atomizer I've owned so far. If relationships to other fragrances helps orient you, I did a fairly deep dive into fall/winter fragrances and especially leathery options before committing to the full bottle of Angham. It started with a free sample of Clive Christian C Woody Leather, which I love but is so exorbitantly expensive that I committed to the search. The two closest runners up to Angham were Clive Christian C Woody Leather and Tom Ford Ombré Leather. I'd be thrilled to have either of these in that signature slot if Angham weren't available. I find Ombré Leather, in particular, a banger value for how good it smells. A couple fragrances with a more French compositional aesthetic are Nicolaï Baïkal Leather Intense and Mizensir Perfect Oud. Two more that are beautifully made but sweeter than ideal for me are Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Parfums de Marly Herod. I happily throw on these four for variety. Finally, two leathers which are too musty-harsh for me are Parfums de Marly Godolphin and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. The last of these gives me a bit of nausea; it's the only one of the nine decants mentioned that I really don't use.

OmanLuxury always surprises me in the best way possible. I usually don’t lean toward deep, rich, woody and leathery scents, they can be bold and difficult to dissect, but something about Angham pulled me in immediately. Inspired by the Royal Opera House in Muscat, a place I live close to and visit often, Angham feels like an olfactory interpretation of that experience. The dark woods, the leather of the auditorium, the mingling scents of oud, spices, and elegance, it captures the atmosphere of the Opera House and turns it into perfume. It is exotic, sensual, bold, and mysterious, just as described. On skin, you feel the spices and saffron with a hint of apple in the opening, followed by the refined florals. The base is where it becomes truly special: ambergris, leather, and sandalwood blending into a warm, dark, and luxurious composition. This is not a fragrance I would wear in the summer heat, but in Muscat’s winter evenings it shines. Angham is a masterpiece in how it interprets a place, a moment, and the art of performance itself into scent. To me, this is perfumery as art. Thank you, OmanLuxury.

I have to admit that when I tried Angham and Dejan for the first time I found them both disgusting. When I tried them a second time they were still disgusting and too strong, but I went home with sprayed strips. When home I opened them and suddenly they were masterpieces and beautiful. I decided to buy Dajan and two weeks later I got another backup bottle and enjoyed the pleasure. A couple of months later I decided to buy Angham because I had a feeling it would unfold and surprise me the same way Dejan did. From first spray all sceptics dissappeared....now Angham was the better fragrance - what a fragrance what a blend! Wished I had two bottles of Angham instead of Dejan. Angham is so well crafted and balanced with a perfectly measured highend leather. So some degrres Angham/Dejam are comparable with B683/Ganymede Extraits as they are intense and dark scents too, but these Extraits seem untamed and unbalanced in a direct comparison. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10 Price: 8/10 (at least it is 100ml)

smooth smokey woody leathery , the spices hint you as smoke rose accord ( whole the fragrance's journey ) because the combination of clove ( higher does ) , apple & saffron. after 1 hour some animalic accord ( smooth ) combined with benzoin ( balanced sweet ) will be the main player with poor help by vanilla. I think Sandalwood add little creaminess. In my nose if Indian oud has been added to the base note , this fragrance will be 10/10 strongly recommended. overwhole : 8.5/10

First impression. This smells like gasoline, and then the inside of a million dollar luxury automobile, with a little bit of clean motor oil. I'm a car lover, and this is perfect for me. If you love the smell of luxury vehicles, sports cars, gasoline (no electric) and the auto parts store, (I know it sounds weird) definitely try this one. ----------------------------------------------------- Scent 9/10 Performance TBD

Angham A melodic symphony of scent. It opens with fresh-cut grass and violet leaves — green, alive, and unexpected. The heart of jasmine and gardenia blooms with creamy, tropical radiance. The base of sandalwood and vanilla musk is mellow, warm, and endlessly comforting. Inspired by the Royal Opera of Oman, Angham is music you can wear.

the scent is explained by the name "angham" which translates to melodies. wearing this perfume makes you feel like you are attending a musical show where you feel a rollercoaster of emotions going from scent to scent as the perfume dries down you can feel and live every note in this perfume. scent is 10/10 everything is 10/10

Smooth bit leathery but not typical leather scent. Opulent woody-leathery , slightly incensy may be from benzoin and soft sweetness which is for same reason I think , with floral hints and ambery glow. Must try

Extremely elegant and heavy. It's starts with apples and dry leaves and didn't change much during the time. Absolutely love it.

The meaning of Angham is "Symphonies in Arabic, this figures amongst the brand's special projects, made from unknown inspiration to me, but at least, would be worn at specific times and periods. The pyramidal symphony starts loudly by a sweet aromatics cloud wrapped in more than on type of spice layer, lead by clove and saffron, backed by a dark fruity rose leaving thoughtlessly a burgundy color in mind and make sens to a fermented fruity/red Apple sauce and jam. Heading from top to Middle, the scent is more mature and goes to a niche memory refreshment particularly for north African wearers who will recognize that Moroccan Siwak smell which comes from the walnut tree (not the one known in the middle-east), even both types are used as a tooth cleanser since many centuries. It may has an unpleasant taste for non-familiars; like dry woody Anise/clove/walnut direction, projects an aromatic heated spices aromas. After approximately one hour and half, a very pleasant and wearable scent comes up from Angham to join the upper (named) accords to seetle in a woody/musky base flirting the soapy incense. What I liked most in the Incense work here, became liquefied by heat inside a musky orris. That mélange came to erase the spicy harsh-sweet taste seen in the top middle notes done perfectly also by soft resinous ambergris accord. To me, it shares many base results with its brother "Royal Incense" which contrary to this, doesn't lean in a certain direction. This is more masculin and fits for particular occasions in colder days. I just imagine if Cinnamon was added to this blend some vibrancy for a true symphony with less medicinal tones :) ★★★★☆

Sophisticated powdery leather scent showcasing some nice aromatic and spicy notes. The scent opens with notes of apple, saffron, citrus and clove. The brief heart has a powdery orris combined with jasmine and geranium. The scent settles fairly quickly into its powdery animalic base of leather and ambergris, with hints of vanilla, benzoin, cedar and sandalwood. The slightly masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Overall very smooth and very wearable and also fairly unique, but must appreciate animalics to appreciate. One of the better leather scents out in the market today. Enjoy!

I wish I could realistically explain why I get this but everytime I get a smell of this fragrance it gives me an "old comic book" type if smell that for some reason I feel compelled to keep smelling my arm. Niche perfumery done right. A certain amount of people will LOVE this scent.

Woody, leathery scent with faint sweetness. Opening is a little messy, too sweet and woody, dries down to a classy, dry earthy woody, leathery and spicy fragrance. Worth trying, but nothing groundbreaking

This fragrance is good I enjoyed it but the performance was average I smelt something close to apples I don’t think for the price anyone should buy this one Unless you really like that’s another story

Angham from the Arab House of Haute Niche Perfumery Luxury OmanLuxury from the Sultanate Of Oman is a Unisex Woody Spicy Leather perfume with a masculine inclination. It was released in 2020. And the nose behind this fragrance is perfumer Emilie Coppermann. Angham is an olfactory work of art that stands out for its balance between the predominant leathery accord, with one of the best apples I've ever felt in a perfume, a breathtaking ambergris with a background, and with luxury supporting actors such as fresh, floral and woody notes, ideal for those who like complex fragrances. Its composition rich in contrasts makes each moment of its evolution unique. Angham starts with an energizing and fresh aromatic combination. The aroma opens with a palatable crunchiness and light juicy acidity of the green apple, which provides a fruity and also slightly citrus touch due to bergamot, added to an exotic and luxurious rubbery resinous saffron. This opening is further complemented by the spicy warmth of the cloves, creating a fruity aromatic entrance that leaves a super positive initial impression. As I said Angham was built around a leather accord, that is, it is for those who appreciate leather perfumes; Meanwhile, the hardwoods: cedar and sandalwood introduce a woody and milky warmth simultaneously that lingers in the fragrance and imparts an exquisite depth. It also has an incensed touch of benzoin, which adds a slightly smoky, resinous and sweet nuance, harmonizing perfectly with the woody side of the fragrance. These base notes are essential to give the fragrance a mysterious and sophisticated air. Its notes are very well highlighted noticeable. Another star of Angham is an exceptional ambergris that intertwining with vanilla completes the composition and unites with benzoin creating a very balanced sweet accord, providing a creaminess and sensual vitality that complete the olfactory experience with a long-lasting and sophisticated sensation. The perfume is delicious and manly at the same time, I also have to highlight the superior quality of the raw materials used here. Excellent perfume! It is not overwhelming but it has a good performance, it will not go unnoticed.

really lovely fragrance. more masculine leaning, not strong, but not weak. cold weather appropriate. before I read the notes I smelled leather & oud. I don’t get any apple. it’s mostly a leather scent with woody notes next. subtle spice and saffron is next in line. the other notes I find more supporting characters adding depth and complexity. smells expensive and unique. wish I had got this instead of royal incense & overdose.

Whoever voted this to be similar to sundowner is WAY off. The tobacco is much more pure and bold with spices in that offering. However, I will say this... with angham, there are some slight tobacco vibes in a TF Tuscan Leather sort of way. This is a fantastic scent. I also get hints of fruit with a gasoline note....love it love it!

This perfume is made for cold weather and very formal occasions, The apple layer lures the attention and distinguish your presence among others. This scent is overwhelming and will definitely conquer the place in the first minute. Sillage and longevity reminds me of Ombre Nomad

For me it smells like apple with sour wood/oud. Gives a vibe of a more woody Oud Aquilaria of the same brand. In general pleasant, but wouldn’t go for the full bottle especially for the price asked.

This perfume smells very much like RUDIS-NOBILE 1942 without the fruity notes.

Remind me of HUGO BOSS Bottled Oud But Great Sillage and Longevity 🙏🏻
