People like to complain about how popular western fragrances houses with oud in the name, have no real oud. Sometimes they like to imagine how good they'd be if they contained oud. Do you want to know what, for example, an MFK would smell like with real oud? Then look no further than Dejan my friends. This is real oud, and it's not messing around. This oud is not shy, and jumps right out of the bottle and into your nostrils, with no fucks given. It's animalic, salty, tangy, medicinal, and somewhat dank initially. But hold on and wait 15-20 minutes, and you're rewarded. After the oud has calmed down, the rose, and earthy cypriol start peek out, slightly sweetened by something. From this point on, you have a deadly sexy rose oud on your hands. I'm personally sick of rose ouds, but the real oud here gives it an extra dimension. Smells like money and pure class. A wealthy business person. Would work well with a suit. My only knocks on it are the opening 20-30 minutes most people around you will not like it (I live in North America) and performance seems moderate. But keep in mind my skin eats fragrance, and I'm testing a decant, so I'm not putting on full sprays. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Scent 9/10 Performance 6/10

Dejan is a masterpiece like very few scents! Those who denotes Dejan as too skanky or smelling like horse stables should just stay away from such luxurious and noble parfumeries. They have no idea of how highend blends smells and should stay with chemicals and synthetic lousy scents like Britney or Marc Jacobs.....and stay away from rating stuff like Dejan. It is really annoying to read peoples rating and reviews based on a single spray because they wanted to try something expensive they would never buy. Like any other scent based on high quality oud Dejan opens loud and animalic. The magical charm will start to shine and sparkle with radiance after 30-60 minutes....waouw, what a fabulously blend Dominique Ropion crafted in this creation. What a rapture I experienced...no words are sufficient here. Dejan has taken the no 1 spot on my 'I want it' list. EDIT* I bought a FB in July 2024 and another backup bottle in September 2024. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 8,5/10 Sillage: 9/10

This is one gorgeous concoction of airy smokey rose, cypriol oil, oud. True to the Omani essence. I think Dominic Ropion found his midas touch with cypriol, he lately has been using it in his creations and they have been pure magic!

Amazing fragrance, too early to say anything about its performance. Too many trolls like ebm92i on this platform.

Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 4/10 I have wasted my money on this perfume.

love the scent, but sadly it disappears after a couple hours. dabbed on my skin, maybe a full spray would last longer. I dabbed 4 times on forearms, reapplied after 30 min to get the opening again (which smells amazing, my fav part). after 2 hours I can’t smell it at all putting my nose directly to my skin. it’s mostly resinous and woody scent. I don’t get much rose at all. more the oud, cypriol oil and labdanum. woodiness from the oud with a bit of skankiness, but not too much, certainly not offensive and nice leathery notes from the labdanum.

It'll be a pungent oud for a beginner. Definitely has an animalic oud from the top note with Cyprol oil. After 10~20mins later, the scent is getting calmed, relaxed then a beatiful rose will come out so lovely. It will be lasting for a few hours and the dry down smells like a good rose body lotion. Worth the price? definitely not. I will keep an eye for it from the discounters to get this with reasonable price.

Sleek dark ambery rose oud which nicely complements the same perfumer’s ’The Night’. The scent opens with notes of Turkish rose and starts darkening into a heart of labdanum and cypriol. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of synthetic musk, oud and amber. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. It is a sensual slightly noirish wear and quite well blended. Enjoy!

Smoky and resinous rose in the opening, The drydown is really amazing and smooth. I honestly don’t like the opening, but the drydown is ambery, musky and oudy rose. Very sexy drydown. It also has a pretty good longevity and sillage. My rating 8/10

Dejan opens very strong and sharp. The cypriol oil is extremely potent in the opening, giving off a burnt, dark rose impression. It comes across smoky and spicy, and even though tobacco isn’t officially listed, there’s a hint of dry, dark tobacco in the background. After a while the scent becomes a bit smoother. A warm amber and some sweetness start to come through, making it feel more resinous and oriental. In the drydown it’s mostly amber and soft sweetness with a light smokiness in the background.

This entire house has openly, and highly, synthetic creations. If you’re ok with that, you will find many you enjoy. To me, this house has no soul especially considering the region they promote. None of the fragrances standout all while being easily replaced. It’s nothing but a money grab. I see no inherent value here.

Synthetic Black Agar (either Givco or 296985) with a generous amount of Benzyl Acetone to make it look like more realistic oud. Nothing like The Night, so don't compare them. Considering brand's caliber, marketing that plays around Oman's heritage and the price point you'd expect something better.

This fragrance was strange to my nose I couldn’t make any of the notes yet I enjoyed the opening the most maybe because of the rose To me this one is forgettable and something I wouldn’t recommend to anyone The performance was good

Dejan is a tribute to Rock Rose and the Omani tradition of distilling mountain rose water. The fragrance opens with a rose of an amazing organic naturalness, a very photorealistic smoky rose. It is possible to feel the half-burnt petals with a slight powdery touch of ash, but the green freshness of its stem is also noticeable. This all perfectly translates this multifaceted rose found in the rocky terrains of Oman, this enchanting flower that offers a green, mineiral, slightly smoky and bittersweet smell. What a wonderful feeling! Perfume begins to advance to a dark resinous woody heart... From the middle to the foundation, dark woody resins bring the scent into masculine territory while adding comfortable depth. An opulent, very incensed, earthy and slightly animalic 'oud adds a bit of dirt and even more realism to this bucolic olfactory landscape of the Oman Mountains. An atypical 'Oud & Rose far from the repetitive sameness of this combo that we usually see out there. Still, it is not an extremely heavy perfume, it is a delicious fragrance with very high quality ingredients and even with a certain level of versatility and has a good performance, Dejan is not overwhelming and oppressive like Khanjar. A perfume 'oud, rose, woody, resinous, smoky, amber, unisex; Harmonious and Charming!

Dejane is a beautiful aromatic rose based on clean concept. It has a touch of a well-balanced oud added to it, defining at the end the familiar blend of rose oud with any redundancy. The Damascena rose gives to this blend a natural feeling is lighter than usual with a hint of sweetness giving an aromatic depth to it along slide with a touch of powdery molecules which, accompany in the background the oud; kind of blood-metallic oud like. This smell to me is cambodian oud reminiscent style done perfectly here as a luxurious soap, so it's a love for those who are not very familiar with raw oud scents. The Amber has been hidden by the musk effect (I bet synthetic molecules like Ethylene Brassylate + Inone Alpha) to keep the named combo soft, this reminds me the technical work done in MFK Oud Satin Mood. The cypriol slightly reveals a mid-dark side without green tones, but I think it could be better if was endorsed by balanced dose of vetiver to accentuate the greeny-fresh vibrancy alongside the labdanum (well deluted here). Overall, Dejan is genderless, it could be worn in all seasons , performing in median level, therefore, it could be a perfect office scent. I actually appreciate the challenge of those two powerful materials which been watered-down to the freshness. I am thinking that the creative idea hovered around a summer oud / Rose combo, If it's the case then it was achieved elegantly. ★★☆☆☆

This is beautiful, but in the drydown it’s literally 90% similar to mukhallat shams by ajmal which is like 20% of Dejans price. It is a beautiful slightly animalic oud with a mix of woods, musk and slightly fruity florals. You could argue that Dejan smells slightly higher quality but it’s barely a difference. You‘re basically paying for a little more quality and fancy packaging. Although i like this one and would wear it if i‘d own it but i wouldn’t pay this much when mukhallat shams is out there. Not saying don’t buy it but i‘m saying compare it to mukhallat shams and then see what they cost. At 150€ for 100ml you could go for Dejan cuz mukhallat shams is around 50-60€ for 50ml which is about 100-120 for 100ml. At that price it’s a good alternative i‘d say but it’s 380€ retail and around 250€ at discounters which is totally overpriced.

I quite like this one. Having watched some videos of Jabal Akdhar’s traditional rose water distillation process, this scent takes me right there... helps me picture what that distillation room would smell like. For me it’s like being in a room where roses are being burned with wood fire .. The scent is a big like for me however the performance does not justify the price tag. It barely lasts for 3 to 4 hours in-spite of being a dark scent profile ..

Dominique Ropion never gave up trying to replicate his legendary perfume (Night) whenever he tried to create a luxurious oriental perfume 👑 even if it was timidly.

This is too skanky and aminalic for my taste. I can only do real oud in small doses. Otherwise it smells like horse stable.
