Khanjar

I own an oud business. This doesn’t strike me as a high quality oud whatsoever. In the entire winter season I’ve owned this I’ve reached for it once maybe. Extremely animalic while you feel the animalics are synthetic. To me this smells like a synthetic amber woody leather saffron bomb. If I was shopping for an “Authentic Oud” perfume I would veer away from this brand tbh. I would consider Ameenah’s higher end range for pure oud oils. Way better than any Bortnikoff et all that I’ve tried. Other stand out candidates would be Oud Seven, Jabal Nour by Arabian Oud, The Night, Alhambra Oud by Monegal, Xerjoff Gao which is pretty close to this but very appealing, Maelsia which is an excellent sweet oud, Sheikh A by Hind Al Oud, Nebulous by BTV and if ur on a budget UAE Oud by Taif Al Emarat. If u like Khanjar’s “style” of oud I would recommend u look for a beautiful Indian Assam, if you like the intensity but want less animalic ferocity South Thailand is a beautiful region to source from and if you prefer a sweeter friendlier Oud Malaysian especially from Subah region or Thai Trat if ur on a budget. This is definitely not for connoisseurs of oud in my opinion. Trying to objective I would say even if u like this it shouldn’t exceed $150-$160. Packaging is nice though. Within the brand Royal Incense formerly known as as Samahram would probably be a top ten incense or even top five much more natural smelling and heads and shoulders above everything else they have released thus far. For those who insist on quantifying perfume: Scent 4/10 can be easily repulsive even here in the middle east. Projection 8-9/10 Packaging 10/10 Value for money $150-160

It starts w strong Indian agarwood note which smells little barnyardy for few minutes, then it mellows down but in between it does surface but the oud is very much prominent during its entire duration. Since the oud is so potent that I do not get any top notes. I do get sometimes nose blind but people around me can smell it. They say its very strong so its not office friendly so spray less This scent is layered so various layers would open according to the weather and skin chemistry. After giving 2 wearing I thought it is very linear oud based perfume but when I went outside in sunny afternoon, the smoky facets started appearing. I could smell the beautiful resins Longevity is amazing especially on clothes because sometimes I dont get any smell when I apply it on my skin I had applied it on my napkin to test it, one day later when I sniffed it, I got very woody slightly smoky smell and I was liking it. I could even smell it on the 2nd day and this time I got very sexy luxurious woody smell, I could get also some green herbal notes along w musk and maybe I guess sandalwood in the background. These supporting notes made it very pleasant. Projection is monstrous, people would smell you before you greet them during the initial 5 hours. This is strictly for those who appreciate agarwood and have some expeience w it. I dont think many people would like it especially women so dont expect compliments.

I’m sad to inform that Khanjar moves aside when winter arrives, because my skin isn’t warm enough for it when the weather is cold. Fortunately, my husband has found it in my collection and whenever the opportunity arises (I don’t see him sneaking up to the bottles 😂 )he wears it, and I can continue to smell Khanjar on his skin throughout the winter. Beloved Khanjar is one of the most beautiful truly dark Ouds in my collection with spicy, resinous, leathery and animalic nuances without being Rose Oud. I love the dry down when Musk, Ambergris, Tonka and Vanilla arise the sensuality and sweetness and I really think it smells attractive and addictive. It’s smoothly blended and it melts on my skin which is not the case with all stronger Oud scents. The floral heart is quite hidden but brings a perfect amount of sophistication and a hint of femininity to the blend. This is not for the faint hearted and I don’t know how many women out there wears it but I adore it regardless. I have a question for you all: What do you think if your other half would wear this kind of scent? Do you prefer to wear it yourself? Or you don’t like it at all? The in-depth review is coming later. TLDR: Dark, Mysterious & Masculine with a hint of sweetness Let me start out with the packaging: Very elegantly designed, beatufiul bottle with golden inscription of the perfume name. One of the best atomizers I've sprayed from. The atomizer is pressurized and makes it satisfying on every press. Now the scent: Masterfully blended. It is very hard to pick-out base notes apart from oud,leather & wood. On the initial spray, Khanjar is very Oud forward. Opens wood heavy along with a slight spiciness. After a few minutes, Khanjar starts to dry down to a very complex leather - woody aromatic scent with oud complements. The leather note is very well done where it is very much present but just like the other notes, it isn't overpowering in any way. The darkness of the scent (from oud & wood) is contrasted perfectly with ambers, rose & vanilla that shine in the background, uplifting the scent. When the scent eventually drys down after a very long time, it settles into a woody - warm spicy note. Khanjar is a complex and evolving scent all the way through its life cycle and made with very high quality ingredients! This was the first Niche that was liked by almost everyone I showed it to. The opening might be challenging for a few but it goes away relatively quickly. I would definitely recommend trying out a sample of Khanjar.

Honestly, never loved animalic oud until I met Khanjar, but I can't comment on it much because I'm not a barnyard oud connoisseur. I don't mean to compare them by similarities, although I easily much prefer this one over Oud Ispahan (and I even complained about how funky it got in the drydown). I feel Oud Ispahan, for example, is more structured and sharper, less sweet, while Khanjar is more complex, exciting, and more Middle Eastern oriented. It's quite a complex scent, made into perfection, less about rose, and contains no IsoE junk (no, I'm not bashing Promise), so this is very naturalistic at best while having a thick brick sillage rather than audacious projection. It transforms into a few phases: opens with faecal funky oud, very animalic yet without gross texture (like some others). The unsweetened rose+geranium come into play later. I get some resins, some sweetness (that I don't think is from floral), and spices here and there. Dries down smooth animalic leather and faecal oud which lasts incredibly long. Definitely a bottle worthy.

One of these days I'm going to write a Review on this oriental masterpiece. For now let me tell you that the reviews here are as helpful as Alibaba Reviews on Toothbrushes. If I listened to any of the OMANLUXURY reviews here, I wouldn't have any. The performance of ALL OMANLUXURY fragrances is so overwhelming and brutal, that they come with the most amazing sprayers, giving you total control on how little you want to use. With KHANJAR you fill the room easily with 3 tiny sprays. The fragrance will stay in your clothes for 2 Weeks and more or until you wash them. How much performance are you asking for? Weak scent? You have no clue and you clearly didn't try this fragrance. Oud/Citrus? I have to disagree again. After 15 Minutes or so, you enjoy the most amazing elegant Oud on the planet. No Gasstation smess, no funkyness. Again, I'm not in the mood for a full review. I just can't stand these reviews on fragrantica at times. Complete waste of time. And this fragrance deserves a wider audience. If you like my thoughts hit the 👍 button.

This one hooked me instantly. Khanjar is bold, elegant, and unmistakably Omani. It needs heat from your skin to bloom and cold air to perform, revealing new layers each time you wear it. The opening feels green and aromatic with saffron and herbs before the oud takes over...deep, sharp, and refined. Then the ambergris and leather step in, giving it richness and smooth power. Everything here feels perfectly balanced, like precision and passion meeting in one bottle. It carries pride, strength, and artistry, just like the symbol it is named after. I have never smelled anything like it. Beautiful work from OmanLuxury as usual.

Up close, it has a smell reminiscent of blue cheese and vomit, yet the diffused aroma carries an incomparably magnificent fragrance, which is truly magical~Along with another fragrance from the brand, SERENITY, they represent two distinct directions of agarwood perfumes, and the quality of the ingredients is excellent~far superior to those cheap agarwood perfumes from LATTAFA, including MONTALE. The strong, pungent smell from those brands at the start is really overwhelming and very unnatural. Anyway, I really like this perfume, and the price isn't that expensive~ at least in my country, it's much cheaper than AMOUAGE.

The base is a powerhouse: oud, leather, musk, patchouli, praline, ambergris, labdanum, tonka, vanilla, and sandalwood — a scent that makes you stand taller and walk bolder.

What a beauty here. If you don't know your oud. This is not for experiment, it's for those who want to stand out while lost in the finest things in life. Khanjar is a mixture of Indian oud, white musk-with some freshness. It's like four different seasons, dry, warm, cold, and intense....just outstandingly gorgeous. Very versatile. I totally recommend to those who dare to be different. PS...It actually draws compliments in high doses too.

Yup a good lad a good lad Let me point out first that it’s actually very hard to nail a citrus/oud combination it’s not always pleasant to smell Khanjar is different it’s very neat and approachable I understand a omani perfumer was involved in this project and I won’t be surprised since the name is of very tradtional value to Oman in general It’s one of the safest oud/citrus you can buy and the performance was very good

Tried a sample of this - don't get any of the fecal oud people are complaining of. To be honest, quite an office safe leathery oud. Has a bit of an exotic edge to it - maybe a few of the spices, but all together quite pleasant. I do get the angle they're going for, but could have been more daring in my opinion.

this is not unique at all at least to us in the GCC, this is reminiscent of the oud blends old men used when i was a kid it of course has a modern beauty to it with the leather lavender and rose adding uniqueness and smoothness to a beautiful nostalgic warm masculine scent

Nothing to do with promise. Leathery oud. Its a nice intense arabian style oud. I would give this a 4.4-4.5 out of 5. It lacks the finesse and grandeur of the night but is brash and wild for the gentleman yet to be tamed. Arabian cowboy charm. Lovely.

Smells like the purest Oud in the opening then it starts to calm down and become more woody and leathery, and honestly i can barely smell the 10s of notes listed here, great perfume imo, but definitely don’t blind buy this.

This perfume is beautiful , but its very strong for me i can see my self wearing it only in winter evenings or a luxury event its very strong but beautiful. I you like dihn oud you will absolutely love it!

Quite liked this. Mild animalic in the first 3 - 5 minutes. Might be a good fragrance if you've struggled with animalic ouds before as the intro is very quick and not overwhelming.

Beautiful oriental blend Good complexity , woody earthy with soft floral heart which lingers throught base. Not Oud heavy or leathery. Very smooth balanced blend.

"Supreme Masculinity - No Room for Rivals" That's a love. Softer and much more wearable than Amouage's King Blue. Super quality from OmanLuxury.

This is one of the ones I was most looking forward to trying from Omanluxury, and it doesn't disappoint. A spicy oudy aromatic that dries down to a lightly smoked leather. I think it's a solid release but not a masterpiece and I'm leaning towards others from the house that I like more. If you're looking for a high quality leather this is a great option, but I strongly reminds me of something I've tried in the past. Looking at the comparisons and perhaps it's Amouage XV but I'd need to smell that one again to be sure. Edit: The more I wear this, the more I enjoy it. Check it out. This one continues to grow on me so I bought another 10 ml decant. It opens with a funky, citrus leather but don't let that put you off. After about 30 minutes it settles to a really nice, masculine slightly sweet woody leather with a hint of citrus that sits very nicely for the rest of the day. Very wearable. I don't find it a strong fragrance like others do...longevity is average. It's pricey but it's a solid performer. I encourage sampling.

A slightly barnyardy burst of leather with aromatic undertones, not much else to it. It’s only okay, unfortunately. Edit: I definitely jumped the gun too soon on this review and ended up really liking the full dry down and body of it. It has barnyard in the beginning but smooths out to be a fantastic frag with smooth aromatics that bring the goodness out in that oud. 🪵 do not blind buy.

Similar vibes with Amouage king blue, but more wearable and safe option. The performance is not that great if u want to use strong frag. It's a long lasting but close to moderate. It has more complex than king blue for sweet, fruity and aromatic notes together. For the price range in grey market, i will prefer to get King blue

Khanjar starts off with oud and citrus. Very smooth oud and well blended to start with. I do really get the bergamot. After a few hours, the dry down smells very similar to Layton Exclusif to my nose. It’s a very complex fragrance. It’s not raunchy. However, It’s quite sweet at dry down and can be worn by men and women.

Meh... It's not bad but not "wow" either. A very common smell in the Gulf and the most basic perfume scent in the Arab world. It's not unique; it smells like any typical oud oil perfume or oud incense. For anyone new to oud scents and wanting to try oud, this is a safe, entry-level option. It's warm, woody, and feels nostalgic. Old yet modern. Imagine walking through the perfume markets of Dubai's historic district. Unfortunately, it's less spicy than the daily oud perfumes Arabs usually wear. However, people in the West might find this scent unique and less animalic. On the bright side, it's not a vile Western interpretation of Arabic perfumes like Tom Ford Oud Wood or any of Maison Francis Kurkdjian's oud lines, which, for whatever reason, people rave about.

With all the notes listed, it starts off with hints of citrus and strong Oud that screams attention and promises a trajectory towards being a masterpiece. However, after 30mins it settles down to a largely Leather dominant fragrance with cypriol and labdanum enveloping it. Modest performance. Masculine leaning and fit for colder weather. Shukran Habibi!

Up close, this smells like Eau de Dry Cowdung... I suspect it smells different farther away, but haven't tested it out that way yet.

Disappointing. The leading scent i get from the dry down is animalic leather and i gave it multiple chances on skin and clothes.

I’m at a loss for words. Truly. I unfortunately found out there are certain fragrances that don’t just smell bad, they cross a threshold where your body’s primordial survival instincts activate. This one right here smells like actual fresh, wet diarrhea. It’s so viscerally vile it almost loops into impressive. I’d suggest you wear this if your goal was to get dumped or evict your own soul

Comically disgusting opening, 1:1 diarrhea. I don't recommend going out to people for the first hour, otherwise they will think you just shat yourself. Later becomes bearable, and has interesting evolution, but the slight stink persists. I bet it's a treat for oud connoisseurs, i'm just not the one.

A wonderful scenery in the shoulders of the Oriental notes. Khanjar which means in Arabic (the traditional personal sword) been transformed in a good way to a perfume. Since, as per the name refers to that "traditional style" from hundred years used in the middle-eastern/ Arabian Peninsula as a self-defense dagger, to me known as the Arabian (le couteau suisse). The Omani dagger has more charm by artisanal engravings, to giving it an elegant and mysterious feeling. All the mentioned traits are manifested in Khanjar, making it as the Arabian Excalibur with mysterious trails. The old style used in the Arabian Peninsula may scroll from country to other; Hindi / Cambodi or Malaysi Agarwood are widely used in hospitality, based on its miscellaneous forms, from the wooden incense chips, body oils (dehn al oud) to spray fragrance. Moreover, in Khanjar, the Agarwood character belongs to the high grade Assamese Aquilaria, which has been clearly used in this fragrance to highly push up its fruity oily-resinous nuances from top-to-middle in the pyramid note journey, presented as an aromatic/flowery/musky, covering beautifully as well the dark leathery/indolic part of this Assamese Agarwood, while maintaining the woody part supported by Smokey notes imagined by Ambergris. The magicians here are the musks, spices, a bunch of flowers and sweet aromas used, but carefully chosen and perfectly balanced with the other aroma mainly used. ★★★★★

Khanjar it is an oriental woody floral spicy leather scent; is a fragrance that opens with a rich oriental blend of floral, herbal and spicy notes, with a sticky saffron and biting bergamot highlighted that leaves the top very spicy and sharp. In the course of its evolution, an omani rose (Rock Rose) intertwined with delicately sweet immortelle arrives, followed by a combination of a very precious indian natural 'oud that leaves a brief nuance corral/animalal and sweet/incense that calms down with the arrival of ambergris and an animalistic rubberized leather. Perfume calls for mild temperatures and preferably nocturnal occasions. And reinforcing the animalic facet with musk, and adding a slight creaminess sweetened by sandalwood mixed with vanilla and praline rounding the composition in a vanilla/amber accord. An exuberant drydown! Khanjar is a dark, complex and mysterious perfume that unfolds in layers, a dense dark resinous fragrance that is dark and intense. Arabesque perfume with excellent quality ingredients and for more formal occasions such as a wedding or going to the Mosque on Fridays... or simply when you wish. Powerful with excellent performance.

When I first put my nose to Khanjar at a perfume collector house. There were some nostalgic vibes I got but couldn't put my hand on what scent this perfume was reminiscent to. I managed to get my hands on a full bottle for a very good rate. After a full wearing I then realised what this scent is reminiscent to. It is the OG YSL Jazz (which I have 5 back up bottles of) with a heavy dose of oud added to it. You can compare the notes to understand this as well... (Check the OG YSL Jazz and Jazz Prestige) Now those of you who are familiar to YSL Jazz must be aware that it made a return as the La Collection range. Now if you check the notes on that you will not get any where near the same notes listed as the OG yet they were able to create the same scent.... Getting to my point this Khanjar is an amazing interpretation of YSL Jazz but with an amp'd up Oud note. Luxury to a different level. A love for me x

Like Dejan and Angham this is the kind of fragrance that requires a good portion of patience. The openings are close to disgusting in all three but after an hour they starts to shine and glitter and showing the hidden facets. My favourite is definitely Angham followed by Dejan. Khanjar is not made of the same matter but still unique in many ways reflected in its price as Dejan/Angham are 50 % more expensive. For me I see no need to own a Khanjar when I already have full bottles Dejan+Angham. Try them on paper and bring them home in a cover and diiscover the beauty and well crafted fragrance. Testing on skin in a shop and giving them a quick score after a few minutes is not fair.

To my nose, Khanjar is in the same league as two close relatives: Al Bashiq by Nabeel and Ouddiction by Afnan. Ouddiction is leatherier and darker, while Al Bashiq is spicier and smokier. Khanjar, by comparison, feels airier and more floral, and it’s also more oud-forward for the first 15 minutes (after which the oud fades). In terms of longevity and sillage, all three perform similarly—and they’re all very, very good. If you have Ouddiction or Al Bashiq, Khanjar feels redundant. It’s also way overpriced: the two alternatives above cost five to six times less and don’t feel any lower in quality.

The hype train under delivers again. Funky opening but not the usual animalic / repelling funkiness, this is a manufactured funkiness that's well blended with rose + saffron, the opening lasts for a few minutes before switching to a mainly woody scent with rose & other mix of notes... nothing special. A few hours later the leather starts to appear, this is your typical leather note that gives a rubber like smell. overall no oud & nothing worthy of all the fuss. 6.5/10

I’m trying to normally keep an open view this was highly unpleasant to put it nicely. I’ve spent enough time around cattle to know what fresh manure smells like and this scent captures it so well it’s uncanny. After about 2-3 hours it settles down much more to become an anamalic oud but it begs the question do you want to smell like actual 💩 for a few hours before you reach a somewhat decent scent. Ignore the paid reviews glazing this and by jove don’t blind buy.

The scent of Khanjar is like an opulent tapestry of spicy and floral notes that reflect the intricacy and elegance of the Khanjar design. The use of amber, oud and patchouli in the base add incredible warmth and depth which reflects cultural richness and the warmth of the Omani people.

Tried this. Nothing overly special. Weak scent. Try it. Edt Tried it again after a long time. It certainly smells better after maccaration now and performs good. My bottle is from Scentido Mumbai

5a I see the comparison to promise FM. However by no any means it's a cologne for the Promise this fragrance is it's own masterpiece and takes a whole complete direction after 10 minutes

Had you are looking for a woody, aromatic and spicy kinda of juice, that’s the one. Very nice, attractive and light oud. 10/10 performance 8/10 longevity

Faecal. The worse fragrance I've ever smelt. Absolutely terrible. Why on earth would you want people to smell like they shat themselves. Very strange .
