Royal Incense

I blind bought this fragrance, but it has changed the way I see the incense note in fragrances. When I was spraying this fragrance, I expected it to be so dry. But, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it transforms from the opening till the drydown beautifully. Omanluxury Royal Incense has a very intense yet fresh opening. I definitely smell some fresh-spiciness that is probably coming from geranium and pink pepper. After a few minutes, the incense shows a lot more of its presence and it is accompanied by honey to make it sweeter and thicker, along with some ambery and slight animalic touches, some woods, and a bit of florals. Royal Incense is very complex. The resinous, smoky, and spicy facets are balanced incredibly well with the sweetness, woody and ambery touches, and some other accords. The incense is also very realistic here as it reminds me of a church incense (or other similar incense types). I was scared at first, but it totally changed my mind. I think it is one of the most beautiful fragrances in my collection. The scent itself is very unique, despite reminding me of some other fragrances in the vibe (not in the overall scent). I haven't tried Encens Suave though. Aside from that, it also performs extremely well. Excellent longevity and projection, very inviting sillage. A little booziness would make this fragrance even closer to perfect for me, but then that would change the character of the scent into something that might turn some people off. Again, a solid release. I would love to try more from this house.

You must try this opulence, but never before the third date gentlemen; it demands a certain warmth and intimacy that can only come with a degree of familiarity. Royal Incense is potent, gorgeous, original, rich incense that is all of these things and somehow still quite clean. One spray is all that is needed, don't over do it, allow the blend to invite the object of your desire to step closer rather than smack them in the face. A highly dynamic unisex, Royal Incense will amplify whatever energy the wearer embodies; a woman will be complimented by lily and honey that each accentuate femininity, a man will extoll the leather and wood base that exude a sophisticated, mature, and calm strength. Many reviewers have indicated their preference for wearing in the autumn or winter. I disagree! One can adorn with Royal Incense year round but only in evening or night - it is not a daytime fragrance. Ever. So as not to overwhelm in warmer months it must be used on low fabric or the wrist (remember, just one spray), while in the colder months it can be used higher on the body or shirt. My full x100ml bottle of Royal Incense arrived. I am in ecstasy! I began re-exploring "blended" incense fragrances, preferring incense when mixed with white florals and other "pretty" notes that "smooth out" the incense intensity. Amouage "Memoir Woman" is a total LOVE for me. And I own/adore Matiere Premiere "Encens Suave." Sebastian "The Perfume Guy" raves about Oman Luxury "Royal Incense." I love Sebastian and his perfume preferences usually resonate with mine. I decided to give Royal Incense a try. I sampled "Royal Incense" alongside a few other incense fragrances. IMHO, Royal Incense is the stand out. Royal Incense blends the perfect amount of smoky, semi-liturgical incense (olibanum, myrrh) with gorgeous florals, semi-sweet honey and creamy woods. The juxtaposition of perfume notes is exquisite, IMHO. Non-indolic lilies, rosy geranium (geranium can be skanky), sweet incense, balanced honey and hazy cedar-wood yield a smooth and perfectly blended, feminine-leaning fragrance. The floral notes-which I assume are lily-are gorgeous against the perfectly sweetened (not cloying) incensed honey. Royal Incense is perfume perfection.

The quintessential Arabic incense. Royal Incense is the closest you are going to get to the smell of burning Arabic incense bottled! It is a witching spicy incense smell, drawn on a woody background, and colored with sweet leather. The incense is smokey and very spicy. The woody notes add depth to this magnificent scent, and the leather with a drop of honey add a sweet, non-gourmand charming warmth to this scent. A wonderful winter scent! The smell of Royal Incense reminds me a lot of a local type of benzoin resin Arabs use to burn to scent their homes. It is as if Philippine Courtière bottled that scent. Royal Incense was used to be called "Samahram", and it came in a black cuboid bottle with a golden cap and writings. The performance of this, like the rest what I tried from OmanLuxury, is ultra. Think Amouage & Tiziana Terenzi performance. A beautiful mature creation for the mature and the cold days. "Love"!

I delayed purchasing this because I read somewhere here that it smells similar to Encens Suave. This doesn’t smell like it (I sprayed them side by side) and I think one can have both without being redundant. For me, the most prominent notes would be the smoky aspect of incense plus the sweetness and stickiness of honey. This has a better honey note than Zoologist’s Bee (which I found to be overbearingly sweet). The sweetness here is not overbearing and lasts a long time. Though the note pyramid mentions that honey and incense are base notes, I can smell them from the opening until the dry down. If you want a Smokey Honey, go for this. If you prefer a powdery approach with hint of coffee go for Encens Suave. Both are full bottle worthy and as I mentioned before, if you like incense, it’s not redundant to have both.

My feeling is pretty different compare to this voted perfume pyramid. In the beginning , just one moment of pink pepper sparked then I feel very concentrated nectar of Lilium longiflorum ( it's important that not oriental lily ) and faint rose. So this honey note are not like honey bee's honey for me. After little while I can detect Cedar and vetiver behind of floral note but almost ghost. At this moment I still can not detect any Leather but I start detect Myrrh (not in the note). Then slowly start bloom incense note without smokiness which more natural plant and resin. Also ambergris appear gently and cover all my body. In the meantime I still feel presence of floral note . It's so nice fragrance makes me calm and loved. Longevity is very good on my skin .

This smells like old mystic oriental places. It opens peppery, quite "hot" and chaotic, as soon as you spray, you know that you're about to ride a long time with it. It's quite linear, the drydown is almost the same as the opening, but the notes blend together, the spices take a step back, the amber and the incense are the front player. This is not a gourmand oriental, it's peppery, the amber is not sweet, just dry and a bit resinous. The leather is soft but still has an animalic facet. Drydown is really great, It is essentially a leather-amber-incense combo, it lasts a really long time and the notes play together so well. They almost give a fuzzy or effervescent effect, as if there was Cashmere in the blend.

Both Encens Sauve and Royal Incense are sweet smokes, but that's where the similarities end. Royal Incense is honey with fruity edge (sweeter, thicker than Naxos) stirred, mixed with geranium, and altogether fumed with smoke from burning oriental resins (+dry vetiver/hay also creates that aromatic smokiness without being peppery sharp). Woody leather (not animalic) and spices become more present after it settles. It's spiritual, done unique, made wearable. Refined and powerful. Meanwhile, Encens Sauve is packed with mainstream yet high-quality vanilla+sharper smoke from random incense, which feels more synthetic, in a small closed room.

Luminous, golden frankincense. Retains the freshness of its raw material but not the coldness: to my nose it conveys almost a sweet tart inflection, think red apple or quince, and definitely a honeyed tone. This perfume smells like wonderful olibanum but it portrays its most golden aspects: royal, refined, and the gold ornaments of a majestic religious procession. Brilliantly named, Gives a run for its money to jubilation XXV by using a similar honey-fruity approach to incense but more streamlined, more noble and more focused on the star of the show: the most amazing and balsamic resin of frankincense. 9/10

I really love this, but it really feels like a rose fragrance to me. Maybe it's the lily or the honey that I'm mistaking as rose, but it's this fresh, airy rose that I pick up on. The actual incense smell is vague, but it's there. This fragrance is sweet. It is velvety, smooth, and indeed royal-smelling to me. Seems to fade away very quickly on my skin. If I were reaching for an incense fragrance so I could actually smell like incense, I wouldn't choose this. I would choose something like Interlude Man, Encens Suave, CdG Avignon, ACdD, Overture Man, CdG Black

I find this to come off initially as a tangy and bright spicy incense off the initial rip. Upon drying down for a while, it then starts to allow the smoky and earthen molecules to poke through. It was not an instant love for me because I guess I was expecting something different BUT this has really grown on me and is in my regular rotation on the colder days. A real gem with a nice scent bubble.

Rich and bold honey incense with a velvety texture and incredible performance. A truly luxurious scent, it lingers on skin for hours, shimmering with sweet and spicy notes and bringing the quality of once powerful Amouage masterpieces. I strongly recommend it to admirers of Arabic perfumes made in the refined European tradition. The packaging is top notch, could be an amazing gift.

Surprisingly Addictive I didn’t think I’d like this kind of scent at all—but for some reason, I bought it immediately after trying it on during a trip to Milan. Since then, I’ve been testing it almost every week, and every time it reminds me: this isn’t usually my style. And yet... I really enjoy wearing it. It’s strange, but something about it just keeps pulling me back. 10/10

The soul of Oman, captured in a bottle. After a bold spark of pink pepper, the heart softens into lily and geranium — a floral bridge between worlds. It’s a really great blend of balsamic and spicy notes with an incredible refreshing and slightly sweet fruity and floral accords. Something here is giving me a bit of soapiness (probably geranium) but besides that I can feel a nice juicy rose (not listed in the pyramid) with tropical honey followed by a great frankincense base. This should be called Royal Honey instead of Royal Incense. Dense honey dominates everything in the opening. Incense slowly appears and gains strength during the drydown. Ambergris saltiness shows up in the late drydown. The sweet spot is around hour 2, when everything is in balance. Personally I think there's too much honey, not enough spice.

One of the smoothest incenses I'd ever put my nose on! The pink pepper and geranium give off a spicy watery rose vibe that peek through an exceptionally beautiful veil of incense. Must have for incense lovers! This was my first entry into the brand and I'm already excited to checkout others from their collection.

Opens up with a beautiful fresh pepper supported by geranium and lilly. 5 mins later the real magic happens. Incense and honey are the main players in royal incense, and what a perfect blend it is. This is yet another 10/10 from Oman luxury, along with serenity

I recently smelt this fragrance and wow. The shop had just stocked it, I tried it on skin and it was amazing, lasted all day, really refreshing fragrance. I had to go back and pick up a bottle. Simple yet unique fragrance, would recommend.

Excellent scent across all markers. Well blended well performing luxurious incense amber. Wow. Would like to smell the rest of the collection. Many seem redundant to other brands releases.

This is extremely close to Amouage Rose Incense. I have both and the Amouage comes a little dryer than this one, but just by a little. Same opulent quality though.

Blind buy success. This is absolutely incredible on my skin it’s fluffy succulent sweet aromatic and sappy. Sillage and performance is beastie.

I think this is the best fragrance from the house. It's much better balanced than the others and, most importantly, not suffocating.

A constant rotation fragrance in my collection come winter, and fall weather. Nicely blended incense, honey, and hint of leather...

#1618 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this decant from scentsplit.com. My second Omanluxury. The first was "Zafar", a girlish scent I think no men and few adult women would go near. This on the other hand is a great masculine scent! Bottle price I'm finding is $170 and up, so try before you buy. However.... Perfumer Phillipine Courtier just repeated note-for-note what she did only the year before for Retrouvailles with "Meet Me There", a scent which Retrouvailles still sells on their website for $60 less than this. Even with a $35 shipping fee to the US, it's still a better deal. Sweet incense, leather and pepper, hint of florals. The potency is excellent. Lasts all day with good projection and just gets better and better in the dry down. A cold weather scent for sure. I think you can get away with this in a formal office. Go light in tight spaces as with all scents with this kind of sillage. An attractive scent for date night if your date appreciates incense. This is a great scent most will love. Just buy it from Retrouvailles, not from OmanLuxury. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Spicy in the opening with an hint of geranium during the developing (can't get any white flowers or Lily whatsoever), then it reveals itself as a very rich and intense incense + honey plus some spice-amber accord. It is a very thick fragrance, very long lasting, big sillage and trail, sweet, very prominent. I like it but it is so "rich", so "loud", that can be somehow "too much" in many occasions, for sure it is an head turner, you can't go unnoticed with this. Every time I wear it I get some comments about it, and sometimes they are not so "positive", to put it in this way, like "oh this fragrance is so loud". Slightly more masculine to my nose but can't see any reason for a woman to not use this. More suitable for the cold months and the evening. Price is ok for value. No idea why people around are saying this is a rose fragrance, maybe they are confused for the sweet combo honey incense.The only frower I can get here is geranium.

I am a big fan of incense fragrances. I quite like this one because it attempts to mix in some floral notes which is unusual and appealing to me. The honey note adds sweetness while the leather adds some depth. For some it might be a risk to wear to work as it does have an opulent feel that might be better off at night. I think it could be worn day or night but I would not suggest anyone to spray on too much. This has more of what I would call a Middle Eastern feel than a european vibe. It isn't trying to compete with French houses but it is classy and sophisticated. Nevertheless, it does have a bit of a synthetic edge, but most of the notes feel fresh and of high quality. Unisex and well worth a sample.

What a fun journey. Have I mentioned also an expensive habit? Well, it can be. Luckily, this was a sample. Glad i tried it. This one was a challenge. Not because of what it offers. It is actually a great fragrance. The challenge was accepting it blind for a strong incense note. It isn't. Great fragrance, but more of a honeyed leather with a light smoke. Some say soapy. I can see that. Again, not bad. But at this moment it isn't one that I absolutely need to have. Would i wear it? Yes!. It lasted just about 12 hours on skin when it finally hit a skin scent profile. Comforting and enjoyable. Certainly will continue to use until the sample is bone dry.

Incense and sweetness probably from the honey And yes it definitely smells like encens suave After trying the majority of the fragrances from this house it is obvious they are actually inspired by fragrances that already known to experienced noses The good part from this statement that they are very good inspirations the bad part is that some of the fragrances that are inspired from mostly costs the same or in some occasions less I enjoyed the fragrance and performance was incredible I have nothing against this brand but it starting to get to me that most new niche houses want a piece of the cake that is already baked

Potent honeyed incense scent with slight floral touches. Opening with notes of pink pepper, lily and geranium, it moves to a dense incense and honey heart. As the perfume dries we get hints of amber, synthetic musk, cedar, leather and slight vetiver. The masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and good longevity. A typical western treatment of incense, but for the most part it works and is a very pleasant but slightly synthetic ride. Enjoy!

This is truly an incense, a royal one. It took me straight to Egypt pyramids, made me feel like a pharaoh. Yet combination of pepper and honey is tiring for some and especially for day use. If you are not visiting church on sundays, do not spray this on before 8 pm for the sake of surroundings. Also, this would only go well for a windy weather.

Is it just me, or does this smell like honey + the discontinued Kilian Incense Oud from the Arabian Nights collection? Interesting, I'll need to test side by side. In any case, on its own merit, this is a stellar incense oud fragrance with a distinct green vein running through it. And as the guy below me said, it's sharp and jarring initially.

Incense, honey, leather are prominent in this. Sometimes you catch the incense and sometimes the honey. Most of the times, leather becomes the strongest. Prefer it on men because of the leather note. I, a woman, wear it.

Opens up with some beautiful florals, then pretty quickly settles into a metallic honeyed frankincense. Versatile and good performance! A deep and rich scent that will definitely garner you some attention. ✨

This smells similar to Xerjoff Zefiro off of my skin. More smokey and floral; less aromatic. It smells nice. Projection and silage are both over average. The non/low-balsamic amber is always welcome for me.

Royal Incense smells quite vintage for some reason. It might sound crazy, but it reminds me of Guerlain's Habit Rouge if it were smoked and turned into Bakhoor minus the citrus.

Nicely done. It’s an amber fragrance with touches of smoke and honey, but it isn’t overly sweet. The scent is unisex with subtle floral nuances, leaning slightly masculine.

Incense / rose / floral / honey. Smells quality and expensive. Leans a bit too feminine due to the floral / rose notes for my liking, but can appreciate it for what it is.

For me this one's really beautiful, and has a lot of projection, but by some reason I find it too sweet and overwhelming. Could be perfect maybe without honey?

I'm a big incense fan, but sadly this was too sharp for me. Someone mentioned the word "pissy" and I have to agree. I imagined it to be more dark and dense considering the honey, but the pitch is high and sharp. Maybe it's an acquired taste, but this was a hard pass for me (woman in her 40s who prefer dry incense frags like Larmes du Désert or calming ones like Sideris and Autumn in Lhoka). I would back off slowly (but politely) if I caught a whiff of this on someone, man or woman... Sorry. :/ EDIT: Two months later and I already have a more matured nose (I'm a frag-newb since six months). It's actually quite nice. A bit too much and a little too sharp, but not bad.

Well the accord stack as listed at the top of this Fragrantica page is not telling the truth. The Amber and Honey accords at the top of the stack are barely detectable, let alone prominent. If they were prominent, the scent would have much more depth and thickness. Instead, this scent profile is hindered the way some incense, and aldehydic, scents often are - too harsh and abrasive. If you want to experience a 5/5 great incense (and musk) fragrance, look to Serge Lutens L'orpheline. Its a haunting blend. Royal Incense is no L'orpheline. Its closer to Serge Lutens' Dent de Lait, sharing the slight harshness. Not much here outside nose-prickling incense.
