Wanderlust

It's been hot and humid (and overcast) as of late, like walking through a tropical rainforest outside. So I've been gravitating towards the fragrance that matches that energy this week, one of my late spring and summer jewels, Wanderlust from Omanluxury. Im being literal, nothing westernized or deodorized about this rainforest experience, this is true niche. Despite the note breakdown, this is a hyperealistic GREEN fragrance. Takes me back to scouting in the forest for the first time or army field training. Thick fig leaf through and through, also note fig trees are one of the most prominent trees in the rainforest. There is citrus here, but it smells like it's bitter, green, and unripe. Bushy, pungent vegetation in the opening. The spices are earthy, the pink pepper still on the tree, and the cinnamon still in the bark. In the mid, the saffron gives it a leathery yet floral touch, along with a tangy black currant that you'd expect from forest fruit. The base IS the tree: branches, trunk, and crown. Guaiac wood from trees in the South America rainforest, and cedar but to a lesser extent, then the olibanum gives it the aged decaying resinous jungle smell. This blew me away when I first tried it, but it also made me sad because I knew that most folk that are only exposed to mainstream fragrances wouldn't appreciate this olfactory masterpiece. The first comment I ever got was, "You smell like...grass?" 😂 It's lasts 8+ hours and has a nice sillage bubble that projects a little past arms length. Highly recommended for niche fragrance lovers looking to go on a journey. Leans masculine but is perfectly unisex. Omanluxury is a CRIMINALLY slept on fragrance house. 🅰️➕️ (10/10) -@frommalwithlove

I bought a sample of Wanderlust and wasn't planning on buying a bottle, but I've quickly become addicted to it and also saw that it's been discontinued, so I snatched up a bottle as soon as I saw it on sale (as of the date of this post, the cheapest place to find Wanderlust is $165 on FragranceNet). I'm both confused and mesmerized by this fragrance. I see from the other reviews that everyone has slightly different experiences with it, but to my nose, it's a very sharp, tart citrus scent -- think grapefruit or lemon, not necessarily a sweet citrus like anything from Louis Vuitton or Sospiro. I would describe Wanderlust as "bright" or "zesty," not warm. It also has a grassy opening that I don't usually like. Because of that different experience from anything else in my collection, I wasn't really that interested in Wanderlust initially. But then I kept catching myself all day smelling my arm where I had sprayed it. I could not, and still cannot, get enough of it, even though it's rather linear and not the deepest scent profile. Wanderlust may not be for everyone, but I highly recommend giving it a try before it becomes obsolete. Disclaimer: I see that there are two Wanderlust listings here on Fragrantica. I have no idea which version of Wanderlust I have since I'm currently spraying from a 5ml decant. I'll update when I get my full bottle.

Wanderlust by Omanluxury is an experience more than just a fragrance. From the first spray, it immediately transports you with its rich, warm, and slightly exotic scent. The longevity is impressive, easily 10+ hours, with strong but not overpowering sillage. If you’re a fan of warm, spicy-woody fragrances with a Middle Eastern touch, this is a must-try. It’s elegant, long-lasting, and leaves a lasting impression—one of those scents that makes you feel confident and sophisticated every time you wear it.

This was probably one of my most risky blind-buys ever. Although I did get a really good deal on it, it still wasn't exactly a cheapie. But lord am I happy I took that risk. This is a natural smelling green fragrance with a perfectly balanced fruitiness, and a nice rounded dry-down with some woods. I can't understand how anyone could get a headache from this beauty, as I do not find this sharp or piercing like some other green fragrances tend to be. It is a well rounded, unique, fresh and natural fragrance that will most certainly spark interest from the people around you. Oh, and the longevity is superb on this one! Perfect for an office-setting, as well as for a more dressed up setting. This has grown to be a love for me over the last few weeks, and I encourage people to give this a try. I would not say it's blind-buy safe (hypocrite, I know) as it's a unique composition, but I feel that this deserves a lot more praise.

Wanderlust by Omanluxury took me completely by surprise. I’ve always avoided perfumes with olibanum, finding the note too sharp for my taste, so I never really gave this one a chance. But one day, the seller insisted I give it a sniff, and I’m so glad I did. The moment it touched my skin, I was hooked. I kept going back to the sample over and over again until I knew I wasn’t leaving the store without it. The magic lies in the way the fresh blackcurrant blends seamlessly with bright bergamot and lemon, giving it a juicy, luminous opening that completely softens the olibanum edge. It’s fresh, slightly tart, and beautifully balanced with a touch of smoky depth. I wore it to work, and for over eight hours straight, I kept getting compliments! People asking what I was wearing, saying I smelled amazing. That’s when I knew Wanderlust wasn’t just a good buy.

This smells like the most realistic fig leaf I've ever smelled in perfumery. It must have fig or the other ingredients create a fig accord. Or, I suppose this is how the black currant plant smells in real life. In any case, this has a natural green crispness that I'm yet to find anywhere else and it gives me the feeling I'm actually biting into the leaves or snapping the stems right next to my nostrils. A very lively thing to behold. There's some woodines in the background backing up the hyper realistic green experience. Overall a really refreshing green adventure. I'm not sure where I'd wear this as I assume people would think I've been gardening, but there's something so natural and invigorating about it. -------------------------------------------------------- Scent 9/10 Performance 7.5/10

This starts off as a really sharp almost photorealistic acidic torn black currant leaf.I get mint(probably from the black currant leaf, they are a bit minty) I get no citruses at all. A bit too much super sharp green for the first five minutes.Then it mixes wonderfully with the olibanum and creates a black currant leaf and a little bit of the berries with a small sweet coconut vibe. I absolutely love it. But to take the sharp edges down a bit I mix this with one small drip of good myrrh oil per 10ml. I have smelled about 500 fragrances and to me this is the best and my signature scent. People around me can ́t stop sniffing and wonder what I am wearing. Absolutely divine.

First of all when i smelled this frag i knew nothing abt the notes which i thought had some booz or passion fruit , it indeed gave me the vibes of a fruity beer mostly passion fruit however it is still a good summer scent even after lookin up the notes i still get the booziness and fruitiness , and it doesnt smell synthetic it smells luxurious enough , still i think the price is high a little but it might be worth it for some ppl , projection moderate and it lasted abt 10 hours on my skin even after showering.

The guy at bottom comment talking it and saying its worst smeling fresh freshi and it smells like white cheese looks like don't have any idea about fresh fregrance is, it doesn't mean citrus only there are so many different categories like green fresh,citrus fresh,marine fresh,fruity fresh etc and this one is green fresh with slight fruity notes and one the best in class and smooth blend ,i can almost guarantee that person os new to fragrance journey 😀

The original call of the wild. This pioneering blend opened with lemon, bergamot, pink pepper, and blackcurrant — a vivid, energetic burst that felt like open skies. I love me some fig in my perfumes. That being said I am not a green fragrance guy, but wow!! I get why unappreciative and untrained noses would not appreciate the high quality photorealistic nature of this bottle of liquid gold. Makes me feel as if I'm in nature on a very expensive vacation. Invigorating. Fresh. Very well done. My favourite green scent!

One of my favorites from the brand Yes it does remind me of philosycos and it’s very close to it actually But this one is on a whole other level Twice as strong More depth and notes Refreshing Projection and sillage are greater Overall a different take on philosycos but in a good way You can definitely smell the figs in this one Well done Oman luxury

This is a unique Spring / Summer fragrance for people tired of citrus and blue offerings. Hyper realistic, natural, green fig accord. Very stemmy, vibrant, almost grassy in the best way. Strong projection and longevity for this style of perfume. Very happy with my purchase.

Freshly sliced Serrano peppers, ready to spice up a mojito, that’s what I get...not a lot of longevity on this, but I do get some wafts hours later, stunner, but dissipates too quickly. Admittedly, I have a FB and anticipate using it until it's gone, lovely!!

One of the best fig scents in the market. Great projection and performance. It would work perfect in spring and summer. I believe it is the best one from the house.

I first put on the sample and I didn't think it was for me, but not terrible, so I kept it on. Then an hour later I smelled something great, and yep, it was this! It's a creamy woody fig fragrance. I situate this one between the uber green Philosykos on one end and the spicier BDK Gris Charnel on the other, and Wanderlust is somewhere in the middle. It's less spicy than Gris Charnel, but not quite as green as Philosykos. And has some additional woods, pink pepper, and citrus, and a hint of something tropical like pineapple but not overly sweet. Maybe that's the blackcurrant? There's a slight gasoline-y note but not super noticeable to my nose, and maybe a little vetiver. It has a similar vibe to Snif's Vow Factor, in being like a green outdoorsy, just out in the field aroma. It's difficult to fully describe, which is one of the marks of a really well blended scent. I can totally see how people come away with very different perspectives on this scent. Some scents are just like that.

A great green-mint based fragrance. There is definitely mint in this, but it's not listed, for me it's the main player, I get also the lime, the bergamot and the currant, maybe more the currant leaf than the fruit itself, there is something really sharp-acidic (in a good way) in this, almost leafy-vegetal and I think it comes from this. The drydown is almost the same than the opening, just gets a bit tropical, but not sweet or boozy, there's a slight fig-coconutty accord going on which gives a nice spring-summer vibe. This is a great spring-summer unisex fragrance, uplifting and joyful, but a bit in the expensive range considering the profile and the pricepoint.

Tried this to compare to similar fragrances Adam and Eve’s Dress and Debaser (which I wasn’t sure about). I found Wanderlust didn’t have the longevity at all and started out nice but a bit sweeter. It was a hot day. Promising but longevity and sillage don’t seem as strong as Adam and Eve’s dress for now. Feels overpriced if that’s the case. Edit: tested a few more times and this has short longevity for me on skin. No for me compared to Adam & Eve’s dress.

I got a second-hand decant of this scent, and I think this is the version I have because I get zero fig (thank god!). What I get instead on my skin is fresh black currant leaf with an olibanum and faint oud backbone. The currant leaf smell reminds me of my grandmother when she was picking them to add to her jars of pickles. A nostalgic scent for me. Doubt I'd get a full bottle though.

Super beau parfum , tres bien réalisé , complexe , les notes sont difficiles à cerner et c'est la preuve que le mélange est réussi. On sent néanmoins bien le cassis et les bois , le tout est léger et aérien Malheureusement un peu trop léger pour moi , les performances sont vraiment très faible c'est le gros point négatif du parfum :/

Wanderlust lives up to its name! It's like bottled sunshine and adventure. The citrus burst at the beginning is so refreshing, and the spices add a warmth that makes it perfect for any season. I love the woody base notes – they give it depth and longevity. Definitely my go-to scent when I want to feel free and adventurous.

I would have bet a big amount on this having fig in it, i am surprised it is not in the notes list. Intensive but natural smelling green, mediterranean vibes! A bit linear

This was a NOPE when I first tried it from the discovery set. Couldnt stop thinking about it afterwards, I fell in love so I ordered myself a full bottle.

Green fig leaf. Bitter green, fresh cut grass. A tad lactonic, a bit woody, a touch dusty. Stands apart from many other figgy scents: not really sweet, creamy nor fruity, though there are traces, but it’s mostly leaf, stem and wood. The green garden scent that lingers on clothes and skin after brushing against a fig tree. Debaser’s drier, greener cousin.

It's a beautiful fragrance, but it's too strong for me. Very very citrus forward from start to finish.

I don't know if I got the wrong decant or something, but I absolutely despise how this smells. I am the target audience by far (I pretty much only wear freshies, love fig accords, and have been known to smell like freshly cut grass), and this doesn't hit any notes I was looking for :( I don't get any freshness, pretty much just this weird acrid sweetness with a hint of menthol. I would say it's more lemon candy than a bright citrus with a milky fig note that does not blend well at all. My go-to scent is debaser, so I was so excited for this but I don't find them comparable at all. loud and synthetic.

The notes sounded amazing, it was presented to me as a fig scent, which is definitely the vibe, but man, nope, not that pleasant kind of fig. It is harsh! Clorox-like type of harshness. A dry, green, pungent fig leaf, border line cat pee-like. I can't stand it, I tried to understand how people could enjoy it. I respect that but, if you love it, be aware that it may generate repulsive reactions around you. Not suitable for a first date, the person may think that you are wearing moldy clothes left damp for too long in the machine tank.

This is fresh? This is one of the worst fresh fragrances of all time, it smells like white cheese. Fresh fragrances lift your mood up. energize you and make you happy. What is this? Its something that no person should wear.

Wanderlust from the Arab House of Perfumery Niche High Luxury OmanLuxury from the Sultanate of Oman is a Citrus Green Woody Fruity Unisex perfume. Wanderlust was originally launched in 2018 and was relaunched in 2020 in another bottle, after the brand went through a makeover, my bottle is prior to this change, but they are exactly the same fragrance. And now in 2023 an extraordinary edition flanker was launched with some small changes in its formulation and with the new modern bottle in transparent glass with greenish tones referring to the old bottle, and more woody and where this time the brand informed the use of the fruity fig accord already very present since the first formulation. And the perfumer who signs this fragrance is the renowned Jean-Louis Sieuzac responsible for iconic creations of the 1980s such as Fahrenheit and Bel Ami. It begins with a green herbal and acidic citrus hit that immediately refers in a very realistic way to a morning walk with the smell of vegetation hanging in the air like wet grass or freshly cut grass, next to an orchard where the breeze mixes these intensely green smells and fruity sweet. This is due to a center of the composition dominated by the slight bubbly sweetness of the blackcurrant fruit and also the bittersweet of its leaf that attenuates this initial acidity, masterfully balancing the perfume. Still in the center, the fragrance is lightly tempered by the fresh spiciness of pink pepper, one of the brand's favorite ingredients alongside the leather and frankincense that form the DNA of OmanLuxury, and also adding a spicy sweet warmth thanks to a sprinkle of cinnamon. With a very present fruity accord, bringing the bitterness of a fig tree mixed with the sweet interior of the fruit that also resembles milky coconut, although in a smaller proportion, all this from the beginning in a very natural way. Soon it begins to be enveloped in a thin cloud of green and sweet hojari incense. It finishes on a layer of very striking dry wood, leaving the perfume with a modern fougére air. Wanderlust is a fresh fruity aromatic woody green perfume. Very tasty with great performance and versatility. Here we have another excellent option to get out of the repetitive sameness of citrus and/or aquatic perfunes on hot days. OmanLuxury definitely has quality.

I can see why folks may not enjoy this...I can’t say I love the wafts I’m getting from my hand, but I do like it and I’m intrigued by it. I find it to be quite natural. Intensely green, fruity in an unsweet way, woody...reminds me of the fresh crisp morning air in a coniferous forest during the winter. Realistic juicy black currant (again, without being overtly sweet) with an almost pine-like fresh woodiness. Not getting much else at the moment (about 2 hours in), outside of some foundational warmth supporting this profile. Overall, pretty unique, and I can always appreciate a fragrance that activates my mind’s eye.

Lovely fragrance - lime is more dominant than blackcurrant for me. It also has a soft milky coconut which gives a similar impression to the citric coconut in Laboratory Gorse. There is something faintly like passionfruit too - but maybe I just mistook the blackcurrant for that. Lasts all day in a soft close to the skin way. Linear, clean, natural and fresh. Reminiscent of a Thai Green curry - though a walk down to my local Thai restaurant will have to satisfy my wanderlust these days...

The latest version on the Oman Luxury Website is 2024. The note breakdown and text suggest that version is a refinement of the 2023 limited edition (but back to the standard bottle design). Can anyone confirm? I just bought a bottle from Harvey Nichols and I think it might be pre-2023 - the box lists the old notes and I just get an overwhelming amount of blackcurrant (I’m going to try returning)

Trying lots of different fig perfumes like ichnusa, debaser, phylosikos, Trudon II and 195 a.c. This is the candy fig one. The black currant comes through a lot stronger than I would have liked. It's definitely not bad but the sugary gummy sweetness of it makes me prefer other fig scents, especially when it's warm out. Strong performance sillage wise, up to par with ichnusa and debaser.

Jean-Louis Sieuzac made this. Imagine Fahrenheit without the Violet but the gasoline is even sharper and greener with Fig and Cedar. For how divisive it can be, it's curiously popular among some frag-comm members. I am not one of them. I can't imagine not being antsy and on-edge wearing something like this. عطر من ناحية التميز مميز، ولكن صعب وقوي للغاية، رائحته نفاثة جداً، تبداً براحة عشبية خشبية حمضية، مع وجود قوي لرائحة التين، رغم انه غير مذكور في المكونات، والتين هنا رائحة تين اخضر او ورق التين بالاصح، حقيقة أنا أحب الروائح العشبية او الحمضية، ولكن ليس بهذي الحدة، وللأمانة ما أعجب الكثيرين حولي، اداءاه كعطر قوي وثبات واداء فوق الممتاز، التجربة اولاً واذا ناسبك ما يمنع الشراء.

Beautiful green opening with a good balance of sweet (berry, fig) and more bitter (leafy, woody) notes. This lasts a while on my skin, but then everything except the sweetness disappears, leaving an intense tropical fruitiness that goes on forever and is just too much for me. It's a shame because I liked it until then, but I found the drydown distracting and unpleasant.

Wanderlust smells like a green version of the dark Samahram, like it has bergamot and lemon on top of it, and the black currant. I can definetly get the house's signiture. It is great for the summer.It has a surprising good projection for a fresh fragrance. Well done, OmanLuxury, you cover all the seasons!

This is nowhere near Philosykos nor Debaser, like what? However, almost the same as Lorenzo Pazzaglia's Adam & Eve's Dress minus the pretty musk the latter contains. I smell cassis and mint from afar, no fig at all. Smells like a veggie stew with fresh green leaves on top, kinda yucky.

Best for hot days, I get warm, creamy, grassy coconut in the opening - tropical but NOT sweet. some citrus comes through after 4-6 hours and adds another layer of freshness. It’s the most vetiver non vetiver I’ve ever smelled. Difficult to describe but this is an elite scent imo.

Green, but I don’t get one of the diptique sable. Natural smelling, nice sillage and projection. Less in your face than YOSLY, but nice. Feels succulent and green-juicy leafy and a tinge of fruit to naturally sweeten it up. Solid release from the house.
