Ambra

I’m at a battle between this and Papillon Bengale Rouge. They are 90% similar. Ambra is actually much less balsamic and animalic than the other. I believe Bengale Rouge has a higher oil concentration as it stained shiner and smelled densely richer. Bengale Rouge has a bergamot-like ambery sweetness in the opening. Ambra is composed of lighter orangey citrus. The sweetness from Bengale Rouge is extremely rich like honey, carnally sticky and animalic. While Ambra carries a more mainstreamed/familiar type of sweetness from amber accord which is lighter and smoother. Both behave pretty much the same way at the top and in heart, the acidic balsamic ambery sweetness are in their veins until the end, but at the dry down, they declares their secret weapons. Ambra unleashes this very bit of mentholated/minty geranium which kinda prevents the fragrance from going into a boring plain ambery vanilla. As for Bengale Rouge, it bursts out this warm spicy honey sweetness with a depth that may have been enhanced by the roses. Each waft is rich and grande. Both easily lasts over 8 hours. Bengale Rouge is almost 2.5 more than Ambra at a retail price, but either one definitely is worthy. Bengale Rouge (2019) may have been very much inspired by Ambra (2004). It is like Sue from The Substance, who is more refined, edgier and carnally desiring, while Ambra is Elisabeth, who is authentically poised and the other things but less in comparison to a newer thing.

There are some companies that spend more time and money on creating fragrances than marketing themselves. Omnia Profumi is one of those companies. While their supply chain is not as big as even some other small brands (trust me, their small supply chain will also be to your benefit). The fact of the matter is that they create incredible fragrances. If you can get your hands on Ambra, do so! You can be certain that when you buy one, you will stand out for two reasons: a) Remember that small supply chain? There won't be anyone else that smells like you in any room you're in b) This stuff is THE BEST amber fragrance I have ever put my nose to. There is orange zest as well as powerful and natural resins which support the amber, but amber is the star of the show. This amber fragrance is by far and away better than the likes of even Ambre Nuit, which is saying a lot! Final thoughts: This stuff blew me away on first sniff. Immediately I could tell that there was an enormous amount of depth in this fragrance, I attribute that to the large amount of natural oils which I detected. It is a versatile amber, able to be worn in any occasion, though I believe you'll really stand out in formal and evening settings most. The orange peel gives it a gourmand feel and is very realistic. I will be buying backup bottles as this will be a signature of mine for sure.

So many fragrances out there, I keep coming across stuff I tried years ago and didn't review, this is one such fragrance but usually it's because they were so so or frankly not worth bothering to pen a review about. (not that it's EVER stopped me before mind you) Anyways.... This is a towering colossus, a monumentally superb amber, with everything going for it. I get sweetness in the opening a dusting of cinnamon then into a relentless, headstrong and molasses thick amber, with mild chocolately nuance of benzoin. This is not a labdanum or incense heavy amber it's a prime balance of everything you want in an amber with a dry, natural 'old books' vibe through to reassuringly not over saccharine, gourmandness. It's a decent fragrance and very reasonably priced for the quality. It reminds me of Ambra Aurea for sure, Italian amber if you like? It's great I can't sing it's praises enough.

I can not believe CINNAMON is not listed in the notes. This is amber and cinnamon sugar toast. Its a sweet and playful amber. It starts with a citrusy opening, bright and zesty, then the cinnamon sugar ambery sticky smell comes in, a little boozy and rich at first but settles down pretty fast. About an hour in it is really comforting and warm. After a few hours the cinnamon is still there but the amber takes on a powdery note, which works well with my skin chemistry. When applied to my wrists and clothes i get wafts of sweet vanilla and cinnamon around me, the amber isn't as pronounced until I directly sniff my wrist. Not a terribly complicated scent, I would say its very wearable for women more than men, just due to the sweetness of it.

The sensuality of Ambra by Omnia Profumi is based on a dense amber, vanilla, opoponax and labdanum with a pinch of citrus fruits, geranium, lavender and spiced up with a dose of patchouli. From the very beginning, the composition also includes a smoky note of incense, which adds an unusual character to the blend. The fragrance evolves towards a warm and balsamic base, perfectly fitting the colder seasons. I've tested and bought so many ambers over the years, but as I wore this yesterday, I told my mom that this is the only amber I really need and want to wear continuously. I think it does resemble Bengale Rouge, but with my skin chemistry, Omnia Ambra is so much better. I love the mix of every note-the amber with the cinnamon, orange, spices and then the dry down with the vanilla-ooh la la! It definitely gets sweeter in the late dry down with the vanilla, and it's Heaven! This is so perfectly blended and now I realize I need the bigger bottle in case it gets discontinued or reformulated. (God forbid!)

This one makes me weak in the knees! It reminds me a little of Annick Goutal - Ambre Fetiche, but with more opoponax. The incense, patchouli and geranium are detectable early on, but as the fragrance dries down, it warms up and focuses more on the amber and opoponax for me. I feel I could wear this one in the warmer spring weather, since it stays close to the skin. I'm really not surprised it's sold out on Luckyscent at the moment! Update: The incense note is more noticeable in warm weather! I also find this scent changes depending on the weather, and skin chemistry!

A very succulent Amber that's full of body, has lots of heft and quite a few different facets depending on you're chemistry and the weather. I get the citrus throughout the whole thing and a tinge of cinnamon, this reminds me of the fall so much. When I wear this fragrance I feel comforted and immediately think of being bundled up drinking hot cider with cinnamon sticks orange peel while walking around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights on a dark dreary cloudy winter night. This will be a mainstay in my collection.

This is a beautiful amber...one of my absolute favorites of the amber compositions I've tried. It is sweet and rich and unctuous, with a nice strong cinnamon note and gorgeous rondure. It stays pretty true to the opening through drydown and wearing. I could wish for better sillage, but as my tester was a dab-on rather than a spray-on, perhaps some of that closeness has to do with the application. I rarely assign a seasonal compatibility to perfumes, but this one just seems like the perfect antidote to a wintry day.

One of my favourite fragrances, discovered only in the last year or so. It doesn’t follow down the same path of my favourite vintage fragrances yet there is something truly exceptional about Ambra. I love the spicy orange, it’s resinous and has the quality of a sticky sweet wine, it’s quite delicious . This fragrance also reminds me of rum and raisin ice cream although I don’t see any ingredients that provoke that other than vanilla. Fabulous projection and staying power, highly recommended.

I love this amber. I get a strong cinnamon note which isn't listed here so i'm not sure where it's coming from? It does turn a little boozy after the initial spray and the opoponax is very noticeable!

This is by far my favorite amber and believe me, I tried a lot. It's also a REAL amber, since the other notes are much less accentuated (my signature scent is Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense which is also rich in amber, but clearly there it's just an addition, not the main star). It's warm and sweet thanks to opoponax. I find it perfectly balanced and smooth. The only time when I was not 100% in love with it was during very hot and humid days. For spring and autumn it will be perfect; I also assume it will perform great in the winter. The projection is good. My skin eats up perfumes and my relatives, friends and coworkers hardly ever notice my new scent, while this one actually got me a few compliments! The longevity is very good too. Today, for instance, I applied it 5 hours ago, and it's still going strong, which in my case is really rare. Highly recommended.

On me this starts off as a big blast of sweet and rich oppoponax and labdanum combo, some soft lavender, vanilla and smoky undertones (I do not get citruses from this one at all). There is a bit of soapiness to it which I'd normally get when there are musks present. No musk among the notes though. An hour into this one becomes less sweet (but still very rich), resinous and slighly reminiscent of Musc Ravaegur, I get more vanilla and lavender here. Very nice. Final drydown is a nice creamy milky smoky vanilla. Yum yum This is a real chameleon, and what is more I like every stage of it. Superb quality, cozy and sexy at the same time, and finally, great value for money Note: My juice is in a square bottle. (on the company website it is a rounded one)

This one’s strong! Powerful, pungent reference amber for those who love the note. Even as a diehard amber fan, this one challenges me-- from the sprayer, it smells sour and earthy. Luckily, once it’s on my skin, the odor quickly evaporates into sweet cinnamal herbaceousness that reminds me of chai tea. I’m starting to place amber perfumes on a spectrum from “dry, woody, incense-like” to “green, herbal, aromatic”. This one falls right in the middle, smelling of smoke from amber incense sticks but with geranium and fruits added in. Geranium makes me nauseous, and I'm more a fan of dry ambers personally, but otherwise I would recommend this, as it really nails the positive expectations for an "amber" accord without being powdery.

Another opulent oriental from Omnia Profumo, AMBRA oozes with golden amber by turns slightly boozy and slightly sweet. This composition is filled with delights: opoponax, labdanum, patchouli, and incense, along with a touch of vanilla, which imparts the sweetness. AMBRA just may be the perfumic analogue to hot buttered rum. I have been walking around for many hours enveloped in this lustrous substance, which hovers like a blanket around the contours of my body and has won its way into my heart and onto my wish list. Highly recommended for all oriental lovers, and especially those who cherish amber well-adorned!

Possibly the spiciest Amber I’ve smelled, I swear that clove is missing from the pyramid. This perfume reminds me of pomander balls mixed with this expensive maple syrup I used to buy that was infused with fall spices. I smell dried orange peel, clove, some patchouli, just a hint of vanilla and BIG opoponax. The spice is a bit much for me for the first hour, but as it mellows out on my skin some lavender comes out more making it softer and less pungent/more balanced. It becomes more ethereal rather than in-your-face with all that spice. I could see myself owning this....

This one goes quite powdery on me. A soft feel yet rich with lots of lovely spices. Sweet but not syrupy.

Admittedly, I couldn't bring myself to give this a proper try on my skin after smelling a drop on my fingers from opening the sample vial. All I can detect is bitter orange rind and heavy incense reminiscent of an Eastern import store. Heavy, harsh, and slightly nauseating, just from a single drop. I know I have not given it a proper chance to shine, but this stuff is not for the faint of heart (or the sensitive of nose)!

Oh dear, a huge splurge of incensey-orange citric rind right from the start! I simply find the overall effect very nauseating, and it's a shame because certain people would like this theme, but there's something in the notes that presents a complete turn-off for me! The orange rind appears to be dusty, sharp and strangely woody all the time. Geranium doesn't help either it's anything but sweet and smooth. The 'sour' type of orange-oil, amplified by sawdust if you will. It's not the dirty or animalic type, just a strange mix of sourness, rinds and a muffled floral. I actually think the scent quality is fine, it just has the wrong notes, or combined effect of the notes. I do not recall any opoponax, vanilla or true amber in all honesty. Very disappointing. One thing for sure, I am enjoying all this scent exploration getting real ideas of the strange, odd and beautiful creations out there. 1/5. Just not for me, sorry. Sample courtesy of LuckyScent.

I’ve been eyeing this one off for a while, and it was on my wish-list, and then as I was picking through the last lot of samples I got with my last purchase, what did I find? Yep, this little beauty. I’m guessing it’s the opoponax, but when it first goes on, I get a faint boozy whiff, accompanied by something that makes me think of a freshly opened box of raisins. That settles and then I’m left with a beautiful warm amber, touched with vanilla. I don’t get much of the orange or bergamot (or the other notes for that matter), but that’s ok – I’m on a bit of an amber kick at the moment. I like this a lot – it’s a lovely warm, cosy, comforting scent, and I could easily go for a full bottle.

Continuing my interest and investigation into amber scents, I finally bought a 3 ml decant of Omnia Profuma’s Ambra. After wearing only one time in cold, damp weather, I feel certain that this big, full powerhouse amber, would project in all kinds of weather (though it may be too strong for summer heat). The addition of vanilla keeps it smooth. After an hour or more, this turns and mellows, but it’s still sweet but not so much so that a man could not wear it. Elie Saab’s Ambre Essence No. 3 is my most recent acquisiion in this category, but I will be on the lookout as this is very reasonably priced considering the quality it delivers.

Very nice. The hype is justified. This is a nice sugary cinnamon amber dried to a stone-washed texture. I have no doubts that you will spray the hell out of your skin. The amber is bright, inviting and surprisingly sharp. Speaking of surprisingly, do yourself a favor and look at the price. Very reasonable for what's offered and I'm loving the bottle size...but back to the scent...This is a snuggy in liquid form. A true euphemism of comfort that's a cross between Serge Lutens Chergui and Roja Dove's Amber Aoud. I can't wait to test this for the fall...

A hefty, ample and rich amber. THE amber fragrance, in my opinion. This Omnia Profumi creation covers all of this seductive note's facets: there is a boozy accord , a resinous touch, too, plus comforting vanilla and a cinnamon-like vibe in the background. All in all, this is how a well-made and multi-layered amber fragrance should smell like. Decadent and complex. Winter is its favorite season, but works surprisingly well on warm, humid Equatorial nights. Or any kind of nights ☺ Just don't overspray if you don't want to spoil Ambra's magic

A nice slightly boozy amber opens and within seconds quickly settles producing a sweet and slightly bitter woody accord with a resinous quality that mixes with the sweetness of vanilla and floral of geranium quite nicely. Sexy and smooth but still cute. This scent says, "I'll woo you with my warm and subtle and (on occasion) playful tenacity." This scent is a long term commitment. It's not a dating around type. This is an innocent girlfriend/boyfriend type of amber. It is not a mistress.

This is an amber-bomb on me. Unisex I think. Makes me think of 70's heavy amberscents. Not totally hopeless, but more modern amberscents turns down the ambernote a lot more. If you love smokey amber/heavy amber - this is it. Not for me Detta är en amber-bomb på mig. Helt unisex. Får mig att tänka på 70-talets tunga amberdofter. Inte helt hopplös men moderna dofter tonar ofta ner ambernoten en hel del. Men gillar du rökig amber/ tung amber så är denna helt rätt, dock inte för mig.

As other reviewers have said - this is a lovely amber. The vanilla keeps it soft and sweet along with the opoponex mixed in - just incredible. Personally I don't get even a titch of lavender which I am grateful for because I don't like it. This is a very special amber scent and I highly recommend it for those times when you want to feel beautiful, comforted, warm... most everyday, right?!

I'd read some reviews on it, I LOVE amber and vanilla notes so I bought a small vial of it. It's boozy and has a faint hint of raisin. I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of -- then it hit me, it starts off a bit like chergui on my skin and then dries down to Dolcelisir L`Erbolario, both of which I have. I'll have to test this out again, and see if it's still FB worthy.

A clean amber it is, it is like a washable amber, lighted soapy amber with a vanilla note that lightens it even more. Very pleasant and superbly sexy. Edit (7th Jan 2017) This quite sweet! i thought it has soapy effect, but it turned to be quite sweet amber.

Hefty, enormous amber. Sticky, warm, resinous HEAVY stuff. Orange rind. Oppoponax. Cinnamon. Boozy. Opulence from the East. A pinch of gourmand in the background. Amber loves rejoice.

Pretty straightforward rich amber through and through. What makes it interesting is this minty geranium and incense combo with orange up to.

A modestly priced, solid, good performing fragrance. This makes me want to carry the wife into the bed room every time she wears it.
