Cristallo di Rocca

Rich and yummy for Winter months. A favorite!

Very sweet and soft. Smells just like TF Tobacco Vanille to me. Very yummy indeed!! :)

I tried this several times and initially I thought I would like it. Over time though, it just became too sugary. I hate to waste my tiny sample though so maybe I'll add some Demeter riding crop (leather) to it and try to bring it down from its sugar high. Update: Today I'm trying Demeter Riding Crop with Cristallo di Rocca and it's a bit less sugary. Now it smells like a leather jacket that's been hanging in a pop tart factory.

It's the second perfume by Omnia Profumi I tried that seems very top heavy; Granato was the other one. Cristallo di Rocca starts out in a massive attack of caramel and vanilla. It’s a very sweet and gourmand opening but what strikes me even more about it is the fattiness. The scent feels very lavish and voluptuous, to the point it's almost too much to swallow, but, admittedly, I’m not a big fan of vanilla-centric perfumes. The quality is apparent though, so the vanilla feels very organic, natural and luxurious. It's a spicy caramel-vanilla, thick and fatty yet powdery, with a bit of a boozy quality. The fattiness dissipates to some extend over the course of the development, and the drydown feels much less heavy than the opening. The initial impression made me think Cristallo di Rocca was going in a simple caramel-vanila comfort scent direction, but it’s actually much more than that. The core of the fragrance is made of beautiful spices—I detect nutmeg, cinnamon and clove—and they actually start to outshine the vanilla towards the drydown. In fact, that spicy core reminds me quite a lot of the same type of optimistic, non-dark spiciness that can be found in Jungle l’Elephant. I’ve been very impressed with everything I tried from Omnia Profumi so far, but I personally prefer their aromatic offerings, Onice and Granato, over their vanillas. Oh, and the description of the perfume on the website of the house mentions different notes from what’s currently listed on Fragrantica: vanilla, nutmeg, caramel, incense, spices, tobacco flower, white musk.

This is simply lovely. Warm, creamy almond, sandalwood, a tang of citrus, soft vanilla, rose, lily of the valley – all that and more, all beautifully blended, no one note shouting over the top of the others. I’ve had this on for around three hours now, and the geranium is starting to peek out, and the rum. Not a cheap, horrible rum, but one of those delicious, spiced, aged rums. The ylang-ylang is starting to come through too. Caramel isn’t listed as one of the notes, but I get how people would think it is – I think it’s the almond and vanilla, both playing oh-so-nicely together. There’s something else, a soft tang that makes me think of sherbet. More specifically, sherbies – you know the lollies with the chewy outside and the sherbet in the middle? If you’ve never heard of/tried them and are worried, don’t be – it’s a good thing. It’s just the right amount of tang, which stops this from tipping over into too-sweet territory. Sillage is pretty good – around arm’s length on me. Not in your face sillage, but a gentle waft of scent. I don’t go for the whole day-time vs night-time scent thing – I think if you love a scent and it smells nice on you, then it shouldn’t matter what time of day or night you wear it. This is a classy, feminine fragrance, for any time, any season. Gorgeous!

Sweet sugar rum. This is quite boozy with bits of almonds and ylang. It has cloves, heliotrope, citrus, sandalwood, mate, and cloves. This sample doesn't allow me to see the silage of this fragrance and withers if it's cloying or balanced on the sweet side cause it's not spray! I'll try to get away from it for a certain time and see if I'll be sutra yes to it or not.
