Opale

I found a little gem! I do not know what to compare it to! It is a bit salt, a bit spicy and a bit sweet. One whiff and I get the salt, the other I get the sweet and spicy. Sometimes it gets a little bit mustardy and then the next I can smell sweet, spicy flowers. Some might pick up a slight medicial note, but to me it is so faint and fleeting, so it does not bother me at all. It is a very interesting and changing scent and I love that! Give it a try if you can!

Opale conjures up a potent olfactive vision: dusk by the coast, when the sun is sinking but the heat of the day rises off golden, salty skin, seaweed on the breeze tangling with greenery and warm, delicate flowers. I can't explain how but it has a real melancholy to it; this scent isn't the easy simplicity of some coconut sun tan holiday. That's not to say it's not immensely wearable - even for someone who doesn't usually dabble in marine perfumes, the opening is undeniably compelling, and the creamy salt-skin drydown is lovely. At any rate I can't resist a fragrance that has me writing novels in my head, trying to pin down exactly what kind of olfactory snapshot it's summoning.

This was one of the more interesting scents I’ve tried so far this year. The second I put it onto my skin, it morphs into licorice. I don’t get any of the other notes at all. It only lasts about six hours, which isn’t so bad. Layering it with something tart livens it up a bit. It’s not quite a love, but still a solid like. I would definitely try it again if I found a tester or samples.

Interesting aquatic, I feel some kind of massage salong vibe, maybe it is a seawood note that resembles Thai verbena? For aquatics fans or for fans of Italian perfumes.

A beautiful floral marine. Not salty but woody and a bit spicy. A full bottle buy for me!

The opening is medicinal menthol rub with a soft, spicy floral scent which dries down to soft woody vanilla. I don't detect any saltiness or sweetness on my skin but it is super light and disappears too quickly on my skin within an hour. Not for me.

Definitely get the medicinal opening that panda-inc speaks of. The Seagrass note here is quite a unique one! It really is the star of the scent here - a little dank and low tide but not too off-putting. A unisex scent for sure.

It is salty and green, bitter green, very aromatic, I see the ocean, the waves, the marine mist, the wind in the bushes of scented thorns. A swear I can smell juniper and eucalyptol. A magistral mix of sea and peppery sap. The marine-aquatic fragrances are usually not my cup of tea, but this is something else. Natural and strong, it makes me dream! There is also a gentle undertone ,vanilla flowery Tonka, the ocean is quiet and sunny, it glitters under a big blue sky. I love it!

I immediately recall my favorite marine/acquatic Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale when smelling this, and that can't be a bad thing, right? Well, the only bad thing is that it renders it a bit redundant for me. It does have moments of thick, meringue like sea foam and salty seaweed softened by florals, but other than that, this is quite similar to AdS, but Opale just lacks that juggernaut's substantiality. Decent, but not terribly unique.

on paper it smells almost identical to Salaria by Giardino Benessere
