Onskad 80'

I love this scent - it went straight to my wish list upon sniffing my sample (spray, not dabber). This is a brilliant composition, with the spicy carnation evoking smoke and the amber opoponax combination giving it a bit of sweetness. Spicy yes, in a toned down smoky paprika way, not in a cinnamon cardamom clove way. The scent has a bit of freshness, it is not dense and heavy. If you have smelled Istanbul by Gallivant, this is the kind of freshness I mean, as opposed to a dense amber reminiscent of Opium. Amazing.

Ahh perfume heaven! I've been away from sampling during the holiday season, but back with a bang with this one. I have a big bucket yet to be tested and this one stood out because it smelled fresh and green in the sample. It's a little green, but mainly spicy and floral. I'm getting a lot of clove and cardamom, very Christmas spice, wondering why it's not listed. A lot more spice and Christmas vibes than the notes suggest (and no it's not the Christmas pudding stain on my kimono :) I really enjoy this. Love this genre. Less amber / opoponax dominance than you would think but I can make sense of a good spicy pistilled datura and carnation...no vintage vibes, this is a green / Christmas spice / soft powdery scent. Gourmand, not too sweet. Amazing!

Carnation here is not a "perfumery" way, which is powdery thick, and spicy but as Carnation Absolute, which is super green and sour, also spicy. It has a hint of boozy, alcoholic sweetness and nuances of wilting flowers which I feel from the living and wilting flowers or a genuine, real Carnation Absolute.

I expected it to be some kind of Opium interpretation. It opens floral-intoxicating-spicy with carnation and datura, without Opium's incense. I would like this phase to last until the end. What remains in the drydown is predominantly that musk reminiscent of the hairspray of the 80s.
