#1327 in my "Tour de Fragrance" The challenge for product marketing managers is always to create a sense of excitement about a product that really isn't that exciting. When I was a kid, Proctor & Gamble became a running joke for how often they insisted that their laundry powders which had changed in no substantial way were "New and Improved" when the only thing "new" was the packaging (BTW I've seen the sub-basement at their HQ. There's no Satanic ritual room. Sorry to disappoint.). We have all experienced scents with twenty flankers where pretty much the only difference is the color of the bottle, the cap or the liquid. At 1326 scents and counting, I've experienced this a lot. So when I encounter something really unique, like this scent, I take note of the perfume's creator, in this case Maurizio Cerizza. Cerizza is the nose behind some of my favorites, including eight of Agatho Parfum's scents, which are some of the best I've ever found. He's created an utterly unique and attractive masterpiece here for which I can think of nothing really similar. While the scent is completely inoffensive and delightful, the sillage is off the charts. People were picking this up from twelve feet away, and no I didn't overspray. The downside is the projection reduced the longevity to about five hours. I applied this at 5:30AM and by lunch it was a hint of scent. No surprise, because it spreads spicy green incense molecules a car length in all directions for a couple of hours. This is my first OnyRico scent. This is not a bargain at $150-200, but you can be sure this isn't something you've smelled ten times before. Everyone wanted to know what I was wearing. But I'd still recommend you get a decant from Scent Split before you spend the money.

This is such a hidden gem, I wish more people knew about it. Archimede feels like a warm Mediterranean breeze. Dry, spicy, aromatic and woody, softened by a powdery floral nuance, while incense and elemi bring a subtle liturgical edge. It feels both uplifting and contemplative. I think this works beautifully as an incense fragrance for warmer days.
